Audition

I have an echo effect on a track and I want the echos to completely cut to silence at a specific point in the middle of the track, and then start up again on the next clip. Right now the echos just continue throughout, even where there's nothing on the timeline. I want the rest of the track to continue echoing, I just want this specific part of the timeline to be silent. How do I do that?

I work in Audition, and when editing auditions I always work in WAV then convert to .mp3 for submission, which is what all clients request.  Until now. I have received these weird instructions:"Keep all files RAW and peaks between -12 to -6 dB. The WAV file type and audio specs are non-negotiable! Talent will be asked to list their recording equipment and pass audio checks!"What the f does this mean?  I can give them WAV, but what is RAW?Thanks.Rob

After buying and upgrading from Cool Edit 95 through Audition 1.5, I bought the upgrade to Audition 3.0 (Feb 2008).  I went back to v1.5, because I got caught a couple of times recording out in the field when the software suddenly required Internet connectivity to reactivate.Fast forward to this weekend when I ran across a friend who has been using v3.0 and told me that the online license servers had been taken off line.  All I needed was to get the new installer... I finally found it in another thread and to my surprise... my license key is NOT valid.  I tried my old installer which likes it, but cannot activate.Audition v1.5 is doing fine on Windows 10 Professional x64, but I thought that maybe I could finally realize my investment.So, is there a resolution to my dilemma?  Jim LloydAudioMaverick.com

Hi everyone !first time poster here but long long long time Audition user ... in fact ... I am a user since COOL EDIT ... then witnessed the COOL EDIT 2 improvements ... and finally I also witness the transition to AUDITION and I used to use this program a lot !! ... promoting it worlwide during my DJ/Producer era 😉During those first few years there were also quite a lot of changes and one of the big one was affecting the multi-track : The move from .SES files to .SESX files which are multitrack format and which trigger multiple files to get imported in your multitrack view. So there was a software released called SES2SESX to help people automigrate their .SES sessions into .SESX but this software never really worked well for me ... there were errors all over ... anyway my set of 3 QUESTIONS is :- Do Adobe Audition in 2024 support .SES format ??- Does it support/use .SESX format ?? for multitrack sessions ?- Is there an efficient software to convert our old sessions to a new on

One of the few things I am not happy about with Audition CC vs Audition CS6 is I cannot seem to save the window sizes between sessions if I close Audition. I have been able to create a custom layout, and save that layout, with the tools where I like them, but the individual window sizes will change if I close Audion and open the program again. The Wave Form Editor, for example shrinks to maybe a quarter of the size I like it at, the Effects Rack, that I do not use too much, grows to push the Markers window, something I need a lot, to maybe two lines at the most. I find this happening on both my Windows PC (primary editing location) and MacBook Air (secondary and traveling editor).I have tried saving my layout, with the sizes I like, at various times and under different names, but nothing sticks. The older CS6 version does not have this problem, but I do not want to go back for other reasons.Anyone have an answer for this?

I upgraded to Audition 2025 and lost most of my favourites apart from:Convert to 5.1Convert to MonoConvert to Stereo I have uninstalled and installed the app again with no luck. Where and how can I get them back so I can do work? Thank you

Hi, I am using Audition 2014.0.1, nd am trying to play audio on multiple output devices simultaneously. My friend has an older audition version, where it is pretty straightforward, but I can't find how this is done in my version. I open a multitrack session, and prepp with multiple mono signals. I now try to select playback device, but my only options are the left and right channels of my selected default device. I wish to use more than one device, to play three or more mono signals at the same time. How can I achieve this?Best regards,Tore

So I spent hours editing my podcast only for Audition to tell me it had run out of space. Frustrated I clicked Save As , and saving an SESX file.Is there any way outside Audition that this can be converted to a WAV our mp3. Also any advice on how to stop that awful error message from appearing again

Help! I'm using a loaner computer with CC 2019 and the device inputs are not there!! The tracks record both left and right into the same track! I'm used to 2015 where I could put my mic in track 1 and the other person in track 2.  But this won't let me tell the tracks which mics to look at, and like I said, both sides are coming out stereo on one track! I want mono, but can't select that.  It just gives options for None, Read, Write, Latch, etc. 

I have a RAW audio file that I need to import into Adobe Audition, (I have also tried Audacity) but I don’t know the correct settings for it. The file was created in early 2000sI’ve tried several combinations, but the playback sounds incorrect.🔹 Is there a way to detect the correct format automatically?🔹 Are there any tools within Adobe Audition that can analyze the file’s structure?The results i keep getting are static sounding Any advice on properly importing and restoring this audio would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance! I have attached a sample of one of the lower files but note the files are originally without extensionsThe attachment's padelectro (l).raw content type  does not match its file extension and has been removed

Any help on using the Volt interface? 4 76P - Has four microphone inputs, but only options in Adobe are 1 &2 or 3& 4 How to activate all four inputs? Multitrack file...cannot see option to select more than two.   

Im simply trying to use a USB mic to record vocals into Audition.The mic physically works fine on its own in other apps and I see a signal indication in the Mac Systems Preferences.But in Audition, Im getting nothing. No evidence of a signal.Also when I try to use built in Input mic on this iMac, I get NO signal levels.What am I missing here?Is there a hidden preference in Audition that "turns on" audio input?Please advise.Thanks.

Sorry, this is a bit of a rant... but hopefully, I am expressing what others are thinking.Remember when Adobe demonstrated an advanced Audition version with the ability to edit a recording by directly manipulating the text, both deleting text and adding new text synthesized in the same voice? It was really cool, and Adobe said they were going to release the product soon. What was that? Ten years ago? Now that I am very well versed in Generative AI tech and work in this field, I understand that what Adobe demonstrated was entirely scripted and fake because the technology to do exactly what they demonstrated simply did not exist. But I am off-topic. It's now 2024, and Audition (even the Beta version) still doesn't support speech-to-text, and even the text-to-speech generator is 1990s SAPI technology! I have an important Audition question. For work I have to edit 1-2 hour long talks where I have to cut out certain sentences. I was doing it in Premiere so I could use a transcription and other shortcuts but they want us to do it in Auditon multitracks. My question is, is there any way on earth to SELECT CLIPS BY COLOR (to be able to ripple delete all the things we want cut out?) I'm able to do this in Premiere and DaVinci and I spent an hour with ChatGPT trying to develop a Phython code to accomplish this and Audition doesn't seem to have a code for finding the color of clips.We would use Premiere but it turns out when you bring a Premiere XML timeline into Audition, it will RENDER OUT WAV files of all your cuts instead of keeping the source mp3 intact . I tried making a Phython code to have Audition bring in a Premiere timeline and link the original source audio but that also failed. ANY feedback is greatly appreciated!!

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone else is using the Liquid Sonics 'Seventh Heaven Professional' plug in and having any issues?When I try to bounce down a mix the plug-in effect / audio isn't bouncing  with the rest of the stems. Any thoughts? Latest version of Audition. Mac Ventura 13.7.4 

Hi, I have registred a podcast with multiple voices and started the edition. It's a multitrack session, i have six audio tracks, all based on the same .wav file. It was almost done, but at this moment i found a way to have better sound (thanks Adobe Podcast, if only i discovered you before). So now, i have a new .wav file and i really don't want to restart all over. Is it possible to replace the audio file source in Adobe Audition, and keep the edition table like before ?In PremierePro you have this option, you import a new file in the app, and select anything you want in your editing table, and click on Replace the source file.Can i do somethinng like that on Audition ?For information, i have the latest version of Adobe Audtion, 25.0.0.47. Hope it's clear 😉Thanks you

Je n'en comprends pas la raison ?J'ai déjà essayé de réinstaller l'application mais rien n'y fait, je n'ai aucun d'effet VST dans le dossier HD de mon Mac (image 2). Je ne comprends pas pourquoi et comment faire pour avoir les effets de bases qui s'affichent ?Est-il possible de réinitialiser les plugins dans le dossier VST d'une quelconque manière, afin que j'aie des effets qui s'affichent dans l'onglet (image 1)?J'ai tenté de rechercher des modules externes, mais il ne trouve que des plugins AU (image 3).   En espérant que quelque puisse m'aider car je n'y comprends rien du tout 🥲 En vous remerciant d'avance ! 

Is there a reason that you jump to the most upper track when zoming in with alt+scrolling? I know that this doesn't happen when you zoom over the name of the track but this just slows navigating around the tracks enough down to be annoying. I also just forget it at least a few times every time i work in Audition and then being send back to the most upper track is a bit frustrating. Could this be changed?

What is the keyboard shortcut to quickly switch between Overwrite and Insert recording modes in Adobe Audition? I use Punch and Roll for long-form audiobook narration, and right now, the only way I can switch modes is by right-clicking (or control-clicking) the record button and selecting the option with my mouse. A keyboard shortcut would save me a lot of time. Thanks,Dana

J'ai une carte son Lexicon 8 entrées, celle ci est configurée sur le PC  en entrée et ensortie donc les signaux passe par USB (pas de connection audio analogue).Je veux par exemple etre capable si je lis un fichier audio/vidéo sur Youtube etre capable d'enregistrer le son sur Audition. Je n'arrive pas a activer les "sons systemes" comme Input sur W10.Merci d'avance.

Hello.I am using build 24.0.0.46.Windows 10 x 64When I save the FLAC file, it shrinks significantly!Some information is lost, which means the quality is deteriorating!The FLAC source file is 16 bit, 44100 hz.When saving, I also set the FLAC parameters to 16 bits, 44100 hz.In the program settings, 44100 hz is also set.For the experiment, I upload only one VST3 plug-in to the Effect Rack (FabFilter Pro-Q 4 (flat default)), enable bypass mode on this plug-in, click Apply, and save it in the same format. The result: more than 5% of the information is lost. The source file is 36.1 MB, and the saved file is 34.2 MB. On large 24-bit files, up to 20% of the information is lost!Is this a flaw in the program?How can I fix this?
