Audition

I have been toying with switching to Audition from another DAW, but I have a general workflow question for those of you who use it regularly, since I find some of it's behaviors extremely non-typical.For example, why are imported files not saved inside a multitrack project unless they are actively in the project editor?Say I have some audio files on my HD pulled from an SD card, or another DAW where they were recorded. I open Audition to mix and edit, so I create a new multitrack session and save it on my desktop. Now I create a folder called "Audio" inside the session folder, drag the files I want to work with into it, and then import them using File -> Import.So, thinking my files are "imported" and my session is all set to go, I'm gonna grab a snack. I save and close.Then, next time I reopen that session, nothing: no files in the file view. So I drag one of the files into the editor. Then I save and close. When I reopen, that file shows in the file viewer, and the rest are gone.

Hi Smart People!I need to copy a few seconds of a quiet section simultaneously through three tracks of actors' voice over (in multitrack mode) and paste to extend the quiet section in order to fit in a sound FX on a 4th track.If you need more context... I am editing a drama podcast. I recorded 3 actors simultaneously, each with their own mic to control levels, but there is plenty of bleed--aka all 3 voices can be heard faintly on the other tracks. This is okay as I wanted to emulate Old Time Radio recordings.The actors played through all of scene 1, not even a flub...great! And I've been able to do a few ripple deletes to close up any unwanted pauses.  But, and here's my dilemma, at a couple points I need to insert a sound FX. The 1st sound FX lasts for 3 seconds, but the pause between the actors' lines is only 2 seconds. No worries, I think, I just need to select a quiet section through all three tracks, copy and paste, and voila I will have a pause long enough to add the sound F

Hello,I am running Audition CS6 in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on an HP dv7-7000 Quad Core Edition laptop. All audio files show a bump below 20Hz in the Frequency Analysis window. This occurs across all files, no matter the source, i.e., personal recordings, ripped Cds, etc.Here is an image using a CD file:What could be causing the noise below 20Hz? This occurs on any file type, no matter whether I'm using the laptop's sound card or a USB audio interface.Any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.Thank you,Eric

Is there any way to reinstall an older version of an Audition plugin in addition to the most recent one? I use the TMC on a lot of things but it has taken away the ability to add a decimal point to the ratio. Please tell me that there is!

HelloI've searched and search for an answer to this but can't seem to find oneI've recorded a simple interview between two people using two microphones. I have the audio in a multi-track session on 2 separate tracksHOST = Track 1GUEST = Track 2Of course, whenever the host speaks their audio is picked up by the guest's mic (on TRACK 2) and vice-versaI'd like to find a way of mixing the two tracks so that i'm not getting audio bleeding over into the other track.i.e. Host speaks, the guest track is muted (TRACK 2) and when the guest speaks, the host track is muted (TRACK 1)I know i can manually adjust the volume for each individual track but on a lengthy interview this would take a while. I'm also aware i can use a Noise Gate but i can't seem to get this to work how i'd like.Any suggestions very much welcomeThank you

So I'm having two separate issues with my Audition Project;I am working on a radio drama and the files are fairly long -- 15-30 minutes long. The issue i'm having is every so often (Usually when I open the project) random tracks will be muted. not on the track bar, but the actual clips, which makes it incredibly difficult to track down and unmute.Second thing is; I cannot render out master to adobe encoder. just won't work.Third; when I do a mixdown the file's time tracker is over 2 hours long. which, as i've said before, is not anywhere near how long my actual files are.

Hi everyone,I'm very sorry, first time posting here so I'm not sure if this have been adressed before.I'm having trouble getting rid of some reverb/echo sound around my voice after using "noise reduction (process)" (noise reduction 100%, reduction by 30dB). I'd like to have a crisp clear voice sound and not that echo, while remaining loud enough on a low to medium sound volume.I use a Zoom H1 to record (settings 48/24, input 100 (can't really hear otherwise) and a Lavalier Audio-Technica ATR3350.I tried to improve the sound through Dynamic Processing and Mastering and managed to work on it well enough that you can't really hear it, but the volume is just way too low. No matter how much I increase the volume, I still have to put my computer volume all the way up to be able to clearly hear the sound. Because I sync it with a video afterwards, causes huge problems with hearing properly. (see pictures below)Can anyone give me a hand on how to fix this problem? That would be very much appre

Hi all, for a robot project I would like to make some Wall-E sounds. When I record something in audition then play it back the metronome timing is off. Also when I go to record something else, the time is off from the original recording. I've seen this in other recording software as well. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Hello! My name is Julio.I have Adobe Audition cs6 installed in my  MacBookPro  (I use Windows, pro i5, 4GB Ram...). I bought the audio interface Steinberg UR22.  I've been working with multitracks but I have a problem that is driving me crazyyyy!!! I'm using 10 tracks to make a song! I'm just using 1 or 2 external plugins (for the effects) for each track! For the first 7 tracks there is no problem when I play the sequence... but when I apply 1 or 2 simple plugins or effects to the rest of tracks and I press "play" to listen to the mix... Oh my goddddd... the playing is too slowww and stops sometimes... I hear noise like this "kashhh kashhh ksshhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrrrrr... "! I already tried everything... I cleaned my pc, I expanded the RAM to 6GB, defragmented the hard disk... I tried all the settings of the audio and recording options... I have set the audio interface in all the ways...!! I even tried the same in the new PC of my father (Dell) but is the same! I even stop

A VST 3 plugin I use for mastering (Izotope Ozone 5) crashes Adobe Audition 2017 (see pic).  But when I use the menu for regular VST...it doesn't crash.  I need to be able to use the VST 3 one, however, cuz it had mastering presets I saved.please help

I have a copy of Adobe Audition 3 which I purchased 5 or 6 years ago and have used until recently.  My computer became infested with malware.  Lots of uninstalling occurred, including Adobe Audition.  Now it won't re-install.  Can anyone help me get it working again? 

This is what I'm trying to do, I've used the generate tool to record the text to speech voice. However, I wanted to make it sound more enthusiastic in some areas, where the tone falls flat, and I would like it to where I can change (i guess it's called) the key of the word in the audio. As if taking someone super unenthused at saying "welcome aboard," to "WELcome ABOARD!"Is that possible? I tried looking up tutorials where they talk about tone and pitch, but I'm not sure if it's the correct area to lok.Thank you.

I have files where I need to adjust all of the breaths -- it is for an audio book. What I would like to do is to "tag" all the breaths (happy to do this manually, NOT asking question if there is an automatic way to select them) so that I can adjust them all at once. I don't know yet exactly how I want to mix the breathes, so I'd like to be able to select them and then mix them in different ways. I've tried several things:a) I marked them as subclips ... but there seems nothing I can do with subclip markers. I can't select the audio, etc. b) I've tried to move them to another track in multiple editing, but it seems very clumsy. I choose one, move it to another track, then have to go back and silence is in the first track, and then go to the next one.Here's what would be ideal. i) go through and tag all the breaths, ii) move them to another track and when I move them they leave silence in the voice track. This way I can iii) mix them as I desire. Is there a way to do this?

I want to copy and paste beat markers on a track. Once i have marked the first 5 or 6 beats on a track its laborious to keep marking all the way to the end of the track i should be able to copy the first six the continue pasting that would give me a more accurate row of beat markers. Is there another way to accomplish this task?

I know Audition is more of an editing program not production but I Didn't know if there was a way to make it more of a production program since I have an adobe subscription already. Thanks any help or suggestion appreciated.

In the multitrack view: I didn't find these in the list of commands in shortcut keys. I think what I'm looking for is moving the transport, but I could be missing some other meaning.How do I:1. Go to the end of the last clip in the current track.2. Go to the start of the first clip in the current track3. Go to the start/end of the clip under the cursor4. Place markers at the start and end of the clip under the cursor

I plugged the earphone output from a Radio Shack Pro-652 Scanner into the microphone input on my computer and I am experimenting with recording the scanner feed. I use Windows 8.1 Pro and the most updated version of Audition CC. I was curious if there were any options for exporting the audio files automatically at certain intervals while continuing to record? Also curious if there is a sound activated recording option? Further, if I wanted to replay the radio traffic immediately is there any way to do that while continuing to record? Forgive my ignorance but I've been googling for an hour and I'm not getting anywhere. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much!

I want to make a special voice for the beginning of a show that sounds "legendary". So what does that mean? I imagine of a dark voice, clearly understandable and in some way "misterious". A little bit like this one  Tomorrowland 2013 Belgium Introduction Trailer - YouTube ; but a little bit more deep. I have tried it by pitching the voice down, but this sounden wired and it's very difficult to understand the text. How can I do this? (I am net to Audition; I just have experience in Premiere Pro, PSD and Illustrator). Thank you!

Hi thereIs there a way to record the sound of my external mics as well as the sound of my computer at the same time in audition? The Mics I have connected via a Zoom H6 multichannel audio interface. I get all the channels fine. I manage also to get the system sound via stereo mix in the sound settings of windows. But in audition I have to chose in audio options either Asio oder mme as device class. Each one excludes the other.I wannt to use a soundboard and don't want to buy a mixer as well.Thanks for any ideasPhil

     Cat Fergusson 14-Jan-2017 03:16    Hi Guys, I'm sure I'm probably being an idiot and have missed something really obvious!I'm working with files recorded with binaural mikes - they import into my session fine and playback as required but when I drop them into my mix they sem to re-pan to centre. It's like there is some kind of automatic stereo field normalisation going on. I can see from the displayed file that there should be a strong bias to the right but when i listen, there it is right in the middle of the stereo field.Is Audition trying to be helpful - can I ask it to stop?The session settings match the imported files.TaCat
