Steps to reproduce:    Open an audio file, record an audio file, open or start a multitrack session, then let the computer sleep Result: Playback and Record stop functioning until you reboot.Expected: Audition should not break when the system goes to sleep. System info    Application: Audition (Beta) v14.4.0.37    OS: macOS v11.4.0, RAM: 8.00 GB, CPUs (logical): 8

I can successfully get the audio from Premiere Pro to Audition using Edit/Edit in Audition/Sequence, but the video never comes over. Trying to export a DV copy also fails. The only solution is to render a copy of the sequence using Premiere Pro and import it after the Multitrack is created.   This may have something to do with the M1 Mac I'm using for testing. Here's a screenshot of the problem:  

The newest release brought a feature I've been requesting/waiting years for. I edit a fair number of podcasts and having effective strip silence is a key part of my workflow that would either force me to other DAWs, or would always be missed whenever editing in Audition.So, first: Second, the feedback:Finding it: It took a few minutes to find, but was able to track it down in the Diagnostics panel. The settings are straightforward and made sense (a bit more to come on that in a second).No crashes, works well: I ran it on a few different show recordings and it worked well. No crashes and the silence was properly detected and stripped based on the various settings.One things to add: So far, the only thing I'm missing/have a suggestion on is that it could use some attack/release time settings. Right now it has signal settings for cutting/keeping items below/above certain dB thresholds. Seems to work well, but the cuts can become a bit more clipped at the edges than I'd like. A sound

We're really excited to see Audition running fully native on the new Mac M1 ARM-based processors. The finish line is in sight, having recently completed porting several features, like Remix and Automatic Speech Alignment, as well as the all-new Loudness Meter, and we'd love to get any final feedback we can before launch.   If you haven't yet tried it out, please update Audition (Beta) from the Beta Apps section of Creative Cloud Desktop on your M1 Mac computer.  Even as we saw dramatic performance improvements running under the Rosetta 2 emulation, the native performance gains of effects, processing tasks, and even high-resolution spectral frequency updates, is astounding.   Thanks! I'm happy to share that the automatic audio device switching that was brought to the Mac platform last year is now available in the latest public beta builds of Adobe Audition for Windows.  This feature creates a new default setting, "System Default:" for your MME default input and output devices in Audition's Audio Hardware preferences, automatically switching to whatever audio device is currently the default for Windows OS.  As you plug-in USB microphones, connect bluetooth ear pods or headphones, or connect your favorite audio interfaces, if Windows recognizes these as a preferred audio device and automatically switches its internal routing, Audition will follow suit without annoying popups or requiring you to manually make the change.   For users who may prefer complete control or a dedicated audio interface for Audition, you may continue to select the specific devices for default input, default output, or both.  This feature is only enabled for MME audio driver

While recording an analog signal, everything was working OK until about 2 minutes in, where the frequency heat map froze.  See attached. The recording continued and was unaffected. After recording, saving, closing, reopening, everything looks OK. Not sure if this is a one-off or something endemic. Thanks.

I've been working with Activity Monitor running so I can keep an eye on what's going on and I've noticed that when ripple deleting in multi-track the memory pressure on my system sometimes increases precipitously. Opening the Beta and letting it idle I was sitting in the 2-4 Gb memory usage range, for some ripple deletes the usage jumps to 24 Gb, which is more than my computer has. For context, int he file I'm working on I've got 6 tracks each with a 3 hr long wav file (each file is about 1.3 Gb). System info    Application: Audition (Beta) v14.1.0.15    OS: macOS v11.2.2, RAM: 16.00 GB, CPUs (logical): 8

For some reason the declicker no longer finds any clicks to process even though running the non-beta version on the same audio file finds hundreds. I triple checked I'm using the same settings.

Build 14.1.0.11 - Feb 26,2011 PROBLEM: I need to combine CD range markers from two separate WAV files into one CD layout.  It's not working.  Also right-clicking a range marker and choosing "Insert Into CD Layout" and choosing an existing one yields nothing. STEPS TO REPRODUCE1. Load two WAV files with CD range markers set2. In first CD Range Marker panel, Right Click>Insert Into CD Layout>New Layout3. Tracks are inserted into the new layout.4. Select 2nd WAV file with CD range markers set5. In CD Range Marker panel, select tracks, Right Click>Insert Into CD Layout>Choose Layout from above RESULT:Nothing happens. WORKAROUNDS Tried dragging/dropping markers from the range marker panel to the CD layout clip in File manager. No success.Tried creating a new, blank CD layout, which says, "drag/drop files or range markers." Problem is you can't see both the CD layout panel and the Range Marker panel at the same time! I'm not sure if this is expected behavior or not, but I wanted to also mention this:When playing back audio, I'm able to split a clip by using the razor tool, but not by using the keyboard shortcut for "split". I'm able to trim up to the playhead during playback, and also trim after the playhead during playback, but splitting a file during playback with the keyboard shortcut doesn't appear to do anything. Similarly, using the time selection tool, highlighting audio and deleting it also works during playback. I work in radio production, so editing a v/o file as I play it back is useful. It's hard to continuously switch between tools, so I rely on shortcuts to do certain tasks.

Both current Beta uploaded today 10/10/2020 and previous fail to load. I keep getting prompt my systems audio settings have changed. It keeps coming up as 44100khz although I always edit 48k. No matter what I set for Defulat Input/Output or Master clock program fails to load and crashes. Current CC version works fine. I have 48g ram, SSD, NVIDIA, etc but this seems to be Beta issue. Thanks!

We're proud to announce significant improvements to audio effect plug-in scanning which in some cases can be up to 62x faster than before.  Generally, MacOS users should see improvements from 4x-15x and Windows users will experience scanning speed increases around 9.5x for typical third party plugins.  Even more impressive, users with popular effect bundles by companies like Waves can see those packages scan 25x faster on Windows and a whopping 62x faster on MacOS.   Please try scanning for audio plugins, and ensure you re-scan existing plug-ins, to see the improved performance and share your results. 

Running Beta version 13.0.9.17, just downloaded, I have come across a problem that was not present in the previous Beta, nor in the release version. I am editing a spoken voice track and need to remove one word.  I have highlighted the waveform of the word and selected to playback the file and skip the highlighted word.  The "skipped" section lasts longer than the highlighting and the audio drops back in about halfway through the word after the highlighting.   I hope that makes sense!  I have attached a screenshot.  The highlighted (white) area is the single word, the skip playback button is clearly illuminated, but the "red box" indicates approximately how much of the file is "skipped".  To be clear, the CTI skips only the chosen area but the audio is only heard again at more or less the point indicated by the right hand edge of the red box. Jeff EDIT: this bug is only a problem when attempting to preview the edit.  Dele

A feature that would help save me time is being able to delete the gap to playhead of a single track or all tracks. When I put in a new sample and it is a different size to what I'm replacing I have to adjust all the other samples to match it. Currently, I'm highlighting all the affected files and moving manually. Alternatively, if this exists and I haven't spotted it yet, please let me know!

I'm on Beta now to fix the offline file error.Now experiencing several new problems. The most inconvenient one is when selecting multiple files in the multi-track it jams then crashes.I'm on iMac (Retina 5k, 2014). Running macOS Catalina.

Running Audition 13.07 and an issue (previously reported here) with saved files become "offline" and need to re -associate files before closing session.  Post said to use the Beta version of Audition which had solved that problem.  It did solve that problem but now the Beta version freezes and crashes frequently and I am losing edits in the sessions.  I report on the crashes but working like this is untennable with the amount of work I have to do.  Any help is appreciated.  **and BTW I am operating an older iMac with iOs High Sierra 10.13.6

When I use the "Stretch and Pitch" process, and have "Lock stretch and pitch shift (re-sample)" selected, AND "Constant Vowels" selected, I get horrible distortion in the file once it's processed. I'm using the Audition algorithm on the "High" precision setting. If I uncheck "constant vowels", the file will process normally without any audio distortion.

As I edit a podcast using this build, I have to use a buffer size of 1024 to avoid dropped samples. Previous builds would work with no problem at 512 on the same project. It's a 4 track project with predominantly built-in effects processes, and a few iZotope RX plug-ins (Voice De-noise and De-Ess) running as AU. Computer is a 2018 MacBook Pro i9 w/ 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 10.14.6, and a Universal Audio Arrow Thunderbolt interface.

If I use the new Replace Media function on a file that is not used in the sequence the file is removed from the Files Panel if I just cancel the dialog without relinking to another file. 

Audition (Beta) now supports relinking source media in the Files panel, and displays missing files as "offline" files in the Files panel.  Updated context menu commands make clearer how selected clip(s) will be relinked.  

Any ETA? I'd love to use Au as a creation tool!

Audition (Beta) now supports automatic switching of default input and output devices when changes are detected to the default Mac OS settings.  By default, Audition now uses "System Default" as the Input and Output Device options in the Audio Hardware preferences.  Now, when plugging in headphones, a USB microphone, or connecting bluetooth listening devices that MacOS uses as the new default, Audition will automatically switch to use these devices for playback and recording as well.   Certain devices, such as Apple Airpods, have limited sample rates for their microphones which can cause playback degradation.  In this situation, Audition will change the default audio output device, but disable the input device, to ensure full fidelity.  Users can override this behavior by selecting the limited input device manually, as before.
