after many months of not updating I installed the latest bridge v13.01 and EXTREMELY disappointed. It is no longer willing to open multiple folders in separate windows, command “W” no longer closes a window. Clicking the close window button will now quit the app requiring the app to relaunch EVERY time I open a new folder. I’ve been unable to find a preference setting to fix this. Am I missing something or is adobe this far out of touch with how people need the software to function? Please tell me there is a way to fix this, Thank you.
Really? I have to explain it? Ok, I'll give it a go.What a BLOODY STUPID IDEA.There.
Adobe PLEASE restore multiple windows option. Professional Photographers & Retouchers have established workflows that rely on features that have been used for years. If Adobe feels they have a better option, then at least offer Multiple Windows (Comm-N) as an OPTION. Auto makers don't switch the position of the brake pedal with the gas pedal. Some workflow features are that basic.I was a beta tester for Photoshop 1.0. I'm all for new features, but this deletion was not a step forward.
Bridge 13.0.1.583 has removed the ability to have 2 bridge windows open. Please add this feature back. I understand that Adobe has added tabs to Bridge windows; which I'm sure is great for some people. But the tabs don't let you browse 2 folders side by side to visually compare them. So please keep the tabs, but also allow users to press Command N or to right click and ask for a folder to be opened in a new Bridge Window too. Thank you.
I use command N, to open new window a lot. For 1st time ever not working ; anyone have any ideas on that? thanks. Mac
Hi!! I use Bridge daily and always have had 2 - 4 Bridge windows open so that I could easily move files from folder to folder after viewing them. However with the new Bridge update there no longer exists the "File, New Window" option. After several hours, ok a few days...., of toying around and looking through discussion boards I couldn't find any information. Does anyone know how to have more than one Bridge window open with the new update? Thanks in advance.

Suddenly began to get Unknown System Error, on relaunch, got my last screen complete with active thumbnails/previews and all panels poplated. Clicking a thumbnail yields multiple flickering boxes. Read support document remedies, nothing special to lose so uninstalled Bridge, reinstalled from CC.Launching new Bridge yields incompletely populated error box; on dismissing box or clicking menu item, Bridge folds-up and disappears. Repeating uninstall cycle produces same result. I'm locked-out.Thanks for any solution a point-n-click-guy can perform without breaking-out in hives.
For 2 weeks or so I have not been able to open images in Bridge. I even went back 2 versions and the issue persists. I am using Mac Mini with M1 chip.As soon as I try to open my raw images a watch or clock icon appears and then the spinning color wheel. The only way to get rid of it is to force quit. My computer OS is up to date, I have rebooted a few times and I reinstalled the latest Bridge update so I am at a loss.Is this a known bug?
I am using the following to add metadata, the metadata displays in XN View MP, however I am not seeing the option to display XMP in Bridge. (IPTC, GPS, etc. are in the panel but no XMP) I must be missing an option. Here is the code used to generate the metadata. import pyexiv2 img = pyexiv2.Image('xmptest.jpg') xmp = img.read_xmp() print(xmp) pyexiv2.registerNs('abc', 'abc') img.modify_xmp({ 'Xmp.abc.valstring': 'xnviewtest', 'Xmp.abc.valfloat': 1.234, 'Xmp.abc.valint': 434}) img.close() # -- img = pyexiv2.Image('xmptest.jpg') xmp = img.read_xmp() print(xmp)
Is it possible to show the background color of the user interface instead of the transparency mesh for thumbnails?
XN View MP allows the user to set the thumbnail dimensions explictly, is that possible? (e.g. 128x64, etc.).Zoom features appears to be sqaure format only.
1. Allow direct folder path entry, (paste into text dialog) at top of the Folders panel, versus navigation.2. Can the file names be turned off in thumbnail view?
Full screen previews are appearing blurry in Bridge. It happens inconsistently. Sometimes it's a psd, sometimes it's a jpeg, but never the raw preview. I have cleared the cache, checked the preferences in Bridge and rebooted. Nothing helps. Any ideas. I am on a mac using El Capitan. Any ideas?
Hello,I find that Bridge is not seraching / showing within the folders placed in my Desktopis there something wromg I am doing ?thank youeric
Hi All, I have thousands of images that I need to apply the same metadata template to in Bridge. They are in a ton of folders, so I can't just open one folder and apply the template in one huge batch. Is there some other way to automate the process of applying a metadata template to all images in a folder structure? Or, something like an Automator script or a Photoshop action that I could create a droplet for to drag-and-drop and execute the template application? It would be great if I could add more than one step to the process as well. Thanks!
Bridge beta 14.0.0.57 - MacOS Monterey 12.6.8 I added a shortcut for Purple label, command-0, the shortcut dialog shows this assigned and "no rating" still assigned to command-0 (num) which I assume is the number pad, I'm using a MacBook Pro 2019 and Apple BT keyboard and neither of them have a number pad. The Label menu shows command-0 for both operations. Also, Preferences->Labels and Ratings appears hardcoded and is not updated.
I have 2020 instructions for Bridge that state I need to go to: Edit> Camera Raw Preferences> then click "apply auto grayscale mix when converting to grayscale" however, in my new Bridge 2023 I cannot find this Default Image Setting. My question is where can I find the selection to "apply auto grayscale mix when converting to grayscale"?
When I delete an image and press the right arrow, it skips two images and I must then click the left arrow to actually be on the next photo, that didn't happen before.
Hi dudes, A common problem without a solution at this time for me.With Bridge 2020 (10.0.3.138) on MacOs Catalina, i have a serious trouble with thumbnails generation and fileformats recognition. In my case, the mp4 and the mov files are not recognized as video files. I can't preview them and Bridge do not generate their preview vignettes. Instead, it display the default attached system application icon. I have tried several operations as uninstalling Bridge then re-install it, resetting the configuration files, modifying the associated filetypes application inside Bridge, turn on "Use Software Rendering", purging cache, but none of these worked for me. Could anybody help me to find a solution ? thx.
I am new to metadata and Bridge, but I'm pretty sure it's going to change my life! In my workflow I take photos from my phone and load them into dropbox. From there I usually change formats and sizes for various social media uses. I am going to attempt to use Bridge to automate file format changes for me. But when that is all done, I need the newly assigned metadata for those images to stay with the image when I put them back onto my Photos app for use in social media. Is it possible that metadata will stay with the image? Or....is there a way to choose images for social media management through Bridge? Maybe something I just haven't discovered yet?
Hello, I am a photo educator whose school district licences adobe creative suite. My students use PS and Bridge. Today I spend half an hour trying to reset Adobe Bridge to display thumnails.I am sick to death of buggy software and spending so much time trying to fix bugs. I have reset Bridge/Cache repeatedly.I am ready to reccommend that we disccontinue paying for defective software. To what department should I send an invoice for my time. Thanks,Allan BarnesAnn Sobrato HS/Morgan Hill USDMorgan Hill CA
Since one or five updates ago Bridge CC (Windows 10) has been all new wonky--it does this on both a Ryzen and Intel computer, so two distinct installations. I only use raw images. Bridge will frequently open the wrong image. That is confirmed by closing the converter and seeing that the image I indeed wanted to open is still framed as the chosen one--having just happened for umpteenth time that is the reason for this post. Or Bridge will open more than one image sequentially but, again, closing the converter finds but one thumbnail image outlined as selected. Last but not least annoying is that while pulling on the slider or paging through thumnails (Bridge is in thumbnail view mode) the already open PS desktop is invoked/switched to--the mouse cursor could not have accidentally slipped to the PS icon because I removed the icon from the taskbar to test that. The Intel installation is actually recent so uninstalling and reinstalling ain't gonna do nothing.
