Hi,i have a problem concerning the following statement:var targetApp = BridgeTalk.getSpecifier( "indesign");With InDesign CS4 and CS5 everything works like a charm.With InDesign CS5.5 it looks like Bridge does not "find" InDesign.Any Idea?CheersJuergen
A typical workflow for me is to open 4-5 raw files (.dngs) in Camera Raw from Bridge, edit them, save them as tiffs, return to Bridge, and move the raw files to a sub-folder. My problem usually arises when I try to move the raw files. Bridge moves them, but at the same time it crashes. I can move 1 file at a time without crashing, but not 2 or more.I hoped CS5 would solve this problem, but it hasn’t. I've trashed my prefs, several times. I've purged the cache, several times. I've changed my openGL settings in Photoshop to Basic. Each thing I try works for a short time (meaning that for about an hour I can move 2 .dngs at a time into subfolders after editing/saving in Camera Raw). Then it stops working, and I’m back to repeated crashes. I’m running Photoshop CS5 x64 in Windows 7, with 12 GB of Ram, an i7 quad-core processor, and an ATI Radeon 4870 graphics card. Photoshop CS4, and now CS5, work like a dream; and so does Camera Raw. I know Bridge can’t see most of that
I'm assuming this would be via a Bridge script, but open to any ideas. Thanks!
I need to create a semicolon separated string from an array and I am using the catenateArrayItems function. var X = XMPUtils.catenateArrayItems(xmpData, IPTC_DC, "subject", '; ', '"', XMPConst.SEPARATE_ALLOW_COMMAS);This works, but if the values contain special characters (diacritics), the resulting string characters are not correct. I don't have this problem when retrieving simple propertues or when retrieving individual parts of the array, only when I use XMPUtils.catenateArrayItems.Example data: <dc:subject> <rdf:Bag> <rdf:li>façade</rdf:li> <rdf:li>Jacques de Liége</rdf:li> &n
I need to extend Bridge CS5 but don't know where to start. I've found a couple of tutorials relating to Photoshop scripting, but nothing that I can really apply to CS5 Bridge (Windows 7). Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial? Many thanks, Tim
Hi everybody,I would like a simple script that allow me to send an image by email from bridge. Thanks,JPD
I have created a script to export metadata using the XMP Script Library. I am able to get all the properties I need except one: image file size (not dimensions, but the size of the file itself in MB). File size is not included in any XMP namespaces and it isn't in any TIFF tags as far as I can tell.Getting the file name is very straightforward: exportFile.write (thumb.name), but I can't find any method to get the file size.Any ideas would be a big help. Thanks in advance,Greg Reser
I posted this topic a couple of days ago - I didn't know about this forum/group so the thread appears in Photoshop Scripting and Bridge Windows. I haven't found a solution on those forums - can any one here help? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/880777?tstart=0http://forums.adobe.com/thread/880779?tstart=0I would like to automate part of my workflow that involves opening stacked images (in Bridge CS5) as layers in Ps CS5 and running an PS action that composites the layers and processes the image. Something similar to 'Process Collection' in Bridge CS5 only with my own action instead of merge to HDR/Panorama.Apparently this is possible with Mac 'Automator' - is there anything I can do in Windows? I don't have any experience with writing scripts, but have friends that can help. Can someone tell me if its possible and point me in the right direction please? This needs to be a batch process. I know how to open images as layers from Bridge so that I can manually run the PS action - I would lik
Is there such a thing? I have an XMP array that I can iterate over and get the 'top level' value strings I want no problem… Here is my issue when the element I want is a 'subpacket' I can't find any methods to access this? Is this straight forward and I've overlooked something obvious to those versed in XMP (Im a noob at this as you will see… Eg:<xmpMM:Manifest> <rdf:Seq> <rdf:li rdf:parseType="Resource"> <stMfs:linkForm>EmbedByReference</stMfs:linkForm> <stMfs:reference rdf:parseType="Resource"> <stRef:filePath>/Users/marklarsen/Desktop/Gent Mag/image001.tif</stRef:filePath> </stMfs:reference> </rdf:li> </rdf:Seq> </xmpMM:Manifest>'Manifest' is actually a much longer array but… What I have no issue with is getting property 'stMfs
OSX Leopard CS4 Bridge 3 Camera Raw 5.2 In Bridge when I right click and select to open a raw file in Camera Raw i get an error message that "Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature". There is no problem opening a raw file in Camera Raw when just Open is selected or Open With (PS) or double-clicking So I can learn to live with it but it never was a problem in earlier versions of PS/Bridge/ACR - is it a bug? I just had a hard drive failure and had to re-install the OS & all my apps doing various upgrades in the process. The files that are thumbnails in Bridge were safely stored on another hard drive (not the one that failed and they were created and used with an earlier version of everything). The camera raw plugin is in the correct folder HD>library>app support>adobe>plugins>cs4>file formats. There are no other instances of camera raw duplicated elsewhere on
Now I can already right-hand clic an image inside a folder at bridge and open a pop-up window to put any script. But now I need to rename the mother folder of the image and refresh (F5) the folder where my image is and his parent folder also. When we work the images of a folder, we put an "_" in the begining of the images parent folder.I also need to be sure to tell the folder to rename but put an IF: if the folder already biguns with "_" an warn tell that someone is already working there and it will not rename. The fact is that we are 5 people opening folders of images and we need to know if someone is already working that folder and warn the others that we are working on a folder. In fact, I wanted to use color labels to do this, but renaming usures me that if someone opens the directory out side of bridge (windows or mac system), will know if is worked or not.
I have a series of photos (taken as a timelapse) which I would like to filter by time of day as well as by date. Is there a way to filter/search/select files based on the time they were taken, for example, all photos taken between 11:00 - 3:00, so I can then sort those by date after they have been selected? Thanks
How can I disable the ON/OFF submenu command View>Show Items from Subfolder (MenuID: FlatView) with javascript?Tks
What are they?I can't find in the Bridge SDK anywhere where supported events are listed.Does anyone have a clue?Harbs
This is how I'm creating my thumbnails and getting their data: var thumb = new Thumbnail(my_file);var bitmap_data = thumb.core.thumbnail.thumbnail; But what determines their size and how do I change it?
There's not a way to do this in Bridge, but maybe there is a way to script it?I've never used a Bridge Script but would love to how to implement them, if I can get a script to do this...I need to Import multiple files into an existing photoshop file (with a predetermined size ) as smart object layers in photoshop. The options that Bridge currently offers falls short in 2 areaLoad Files into Photoshop Layers-- does not import smart objects and creates a new photoshop file that ends up being as large as the largest imported filePlace into Photoshop--only lets you do one at a timeI need "Place into Photoshop" with multiple filesIs there a way to do this? Thanks!!
Hi AllI would like to use bridge/javascript to set my colour setting in bridgeI can get a path to my variable, which is fineBut then i want to load it so im using app.loadcreativesuitecoloursetting(my variable name)But this does not workAny ideasAnd am i correct to use app.load?ThanksM
Has anyone figured out how to fix this? Tried fixes & I still can not open RAW files from Bridge or Photoshop CS5. I upgraded the Camera RAW plug-in and downloaded all fixes for Photoshop CS5 ( done automatically through Adobe updater) so program is up to date. I can open RAW files from mini bridge if I right click the photo BUT if I take the photo back to Bridge I can not open it there. ( I could do this before the upgrades so this is not different ). I have windows 7 professional 32 bit. I tried DNG files & .cr2 files. In Photoshop CS4 I had the same problem ( almost the same error message...bridge requires a qualify product to be launched at least once... Camera RAW) and it was never fixed but I didn't understand the advantages of working in camera RAW. So it may be the same glich if I had it in CS4 & CS5. Thanks in advance for your help.
Being a complete newbie to Bridge scripting, I am trying to find a way of connecting to a local Access database from within an ExtendScript script. Having looked around, there does not appear to be any information on this. Can anyone tell me whether this is supposed to be possible? I would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. Many thanks.
Hi - I am getting this error rather frequently after processing e.g. 50 RAW images in a batch. With plenty of RAM (4GB) on WIN XP Pro. Any hints will be much appreciated. Vlad
Hi -- Scripting bridge, I am able to copy files using the copyTo(target) function.I also can rename files using the Javascript file.rename() function. But I am having trouble doing both in concert. If I rename before I copy, I lose the reference to the selected thumb, and I cannot copy it.I have tried using the Javascript file.copy() function with no success.Does anyone have any suggestions how I can approach this problem?thanks in advance
Thus far I have been tinkering with a few of these… What Im not able to find is there a method where I can read a file just the once to parse data for the key value pairs… All I can get back is 'String' no objects, arrays… At present I have to do this once for each and that seems like a lot of waste… time & repetitive code. My concern is while it works with small test files when they get larger it may be too slow to be of use… TVM
Hi,I'm new to Bridge and need to batch rename files.Current filename example: 608309400035_PrimaryImage_Hardware.jpgRenamed file example: 608309400035.MAIN.jpgIs there a script I can use to accomplish this? Thanks for your help!Janet
Can Bridge display content from a web page?
I'm using CS4.As part of my workflow, I output proofs as jpgs from the RAW files then upload them to a website. I run the "Export to jpg" script in Bridge with the option to run a script on completion. The script I'm trying to get working is supposed to copy those jpg files to another folder on my hard drive. I am having problems getting this to copy the files, though. After the "for" line I have tried everything I can think of but cannot seem to make file objects from the array elements contained in jpgs. I thought the array elements were file objects so I tried jpgs.copy(dst); but it doesn't copy anything. I then tried constructing a new File object from jpgs.fsName and then using that to try to copy (var proofs=new File(jpgs.fsName); proofs.copy(dst);).Everything else works fine and the array jpgs is filled with the files in the referenced folder. If I set up an alert to show the iteration it steps through the file names properly. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here?#targ
