Failed to decode Substance from designer to painter

Hi, I am trying to load a substance 3D designer file into substance painter and I have this error message:

"

[EngineProcedural] Failed to decode Substance.
resource://your_assets/headLight_generator_controls_v001/headLight_generator?version=987d39414efaa9cf2fae535744e6046c24fc6c59.sbsar

"

It's not the first time that I experience this issue, the only workaround I found is to copy past all the nodes and redo all the parameter exposition. But in the case of this one it's  kind of a complex one and if someone have any idea on how to fix it I'd be glad to have some insight on how to do it.
I have no errors in substance designer, everything works nicely, it's just when I export a .sbsar and load it into painter it doesn't work, but the .SBSAR works in substance designer!

If someone from the support need the original .sbs file please send me your email and I can email it to you.

Thank you for your support!

Hi Clement,

I agree the compatibility with Painter could be more transparent. We have this page that lists all the Designer/Painter/Sampler updates and which Substance Engine version they use. Unfortunately, the page isn't up to date.

Best regards,

Hi Cyril,

I am using 3D Painter 2022 (steam edition) and designer 2023 steam edition too!
For a reason I do not use any "spline" i just use the teleport dot feature, is it enough to break painter 2022 ?
Good to know it works, some compatibility check up tool might be cool in the future just to avoid this kind of frustrations, like just to know if you create something all users can be able to use it or is it gonna be locked to latest versions, and maybe something that list the nodes that might create these errors.
Thank you for your support!

Hello Clement,

Thanks for the file and the details.

Considering I can open the .SBSAR on my end, I'm curious to know which Substance Painter version you are using. Because an error when loading a .SBSAR file is usually due to features in the graph that are not supported in Substance Painter. For instance, if the .SBSAR contains Spline nodes, versions of Substance Painter prior to 9.0 won't be able to open it.

Best regards,

Quick update, copy/pasting nodes doesnt fix the issue. I hope someone will find a solution for this issue!
Thank you!
