I have JPG and DNG versions of images. If I edit metadata in these files externally to Lightroom, then only the JPG versions get flagged by LR5 as having had their metadata changed on disk. As far as LR5 is concerned, the DNG files remain untouched, which is incorrect. Is this a bug?
made a bunch of photos with the new nikon d800. 2 out of 14 nef files cannot be imported with lightroom 4 while the other 12 import fine.
Noticed this problem a few time now with the latest update 5.2 on OSX. When I sync some frames in the film strip, some of the frames that have been synced show up with a green preview. Image attached to demonstrate this. The white balance gets reset to some bizarre figure. The original that the images were synching from was set to Auto WB. So no idea why the program decides to change it. Clearly a bug, this has happened quite a few times now.
Bug in Photoshop Lightroom. When I go to export a number of files, I have the resize option selected to resize the long edge with the "do not enlarge" checked. This works on the vertical files but not the horizontal files. The files I'm exporting ar DNG files created by the same camera and resolution. I've tried resize by inches and by pixels but still only the verticals ar resized, the horizontals are native resolution. I am running Mac OS 10.6.5 with Lightroom 3.4. My only solution was to select the horizontals separately and then export resize hight and width with only the width value. I didn't have this problem with previous versions.
Just updated Lightroom to 5.2. When I publish photos to flickr, then click back to a different collection, the photos shown in the grid are photos from the flickr set being published instead. This happens every time I publish to flickr. Occasionally, photos in other collections disappear instead, once I begin publishing.
Hello, I am using Lightroom 4.2 (updated today) on Windows 7 64bit. I have an issue using the adjustment brush with the option "Auto Mask" within a 32 bit TIFF file: the Auto Mask magic there does not work. I've created 32 bit TIFF files using the "merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop" workflow, where the resulting TIFF is automatically added back to Lightroom. There, I edit the TIFF just in the same way as I edit any other picture in Lightroom. Some of my TIFF files have very clear edges with high contrast. Example: I assume you agree with me that the adjustment brush Auto Mask must be able to detect this particular edge between the blue sky and the almost black wall of a building. However, when I use the adjustment brush on this edge (no feather, 100 density and flow, show selected mask overlay in green), it does not detect the transition: When I do the same in one of the RAW pictures that contributed to the TIFF above, Auto Mask works as expected: I tried this with various edges in vari
Here's how to reproduce de bug: Go to the Spot Removal tool when an image is presented at "FIT" magnification (although it can be reproduced in a number of scenarios, but this one is as good as any). Enable Visualize Spots. Go to 1:1 magnification. Get out of Spot Removal. While still at 1:1 magnification, if you move around (default hand tool) in the image, the "Visualize Spots" overlay is still active until you release the mouse button, after which it quickly disappears. This goes on until you perform another action, like going back to "FIT" magnification or moving a slider, but not when selecting a number of other tools, like Red Eye Correction, Graduated Filter, etc.
In 4.4 the mouse scroll wheel does not work on sliders. You broke it.This function worked fine in 4.3. Left click on slider triangle, scroll right or left with mouse wheel. Rich
upgraded to LR 5. Hard Bug in the Diashow module. Full black screen ever and ever.... the Diashow module gets to black screen if I try to start the start button or the preview button. No run of the dia show. Exit by using ESC key is impossible. System is full blocked after starting the diashow module. It was an upgrade comming from LR 3. This version is running well. What is Adobe thinking to do to fix this bug. Please send instruction for fixing /improvement. Also the performance is getting down . This LR5 tool is not longer for professional use until the systems can perfom the workflow comparable to LR3/LR4 level, minimum . Grafik on board of my comuter is GTX20 (Gforce) Please send instruction how Adobe will fix this problem. What can I do ? Money back ?
I've just upgraded my LR4 to LR5.2 and after open my LR4 catalog in LR5.2 I discovered that some photos (not all) with many spot removal applied are not rendering right: LR4: LR5.2: Am I doing something wrong or is it really a sw bug?
In LR 5.2, there are many bugs with videos and smart-collection dimension criteria. In particular, these criteria do not match any of the .mp4 and .avi videos I tested with: Cropped is false Long Edge is greater than 0 Short Edge is greater than 0 Width is greater than 0 Height is greater than 0 Width, Uncropped is greater than 0 Height, Uncropped is greater than 0 Megapixels is greater than 0.0 (Megapixels is defined for images simply as width x height / 1,000,000; should be the same for videos.) Strangely, the following criteria do work correctly for the tested videos: Long Edge, Uncropped greater than 0 Short Edge, Uncropped greater than 0 Megapixels, Uncropped is greater than 0.0 Aspect Ratio is landscape
Please fix the Lightroom issue in which pesky (-1) and (-2) digits that are added to files names for no apparent reason. I rename using a custom template (0001_YYMMDD), and it does not get rid of these numbers that LR adds making a file number like 2485_111004.CRW become 2485_111004-1.CRW or 2485_111004-2.CRW Running the rename command again does not get rid of these extra numbers. I need a way to rename that gives each file a unique number with no extra -1 or -2 or -3 digits at the end of each filename. Thanks!
Major bug! Using LR5 on PC / Win 7 Pro SP1 - In Library module, grid view, publish services, I noticed that the selections in the film strip and the grid view do not always concur. For example, if I select a published image, then (without holding down any modifying key) select an unpublished image, the initial published image remain selected. Doing the same, only on the published images (or the un-published images), seems to work as expected. I believe that I must have accidently deleted some images from my publish service from this bug, so it's a serious issue. It appears that the selections from the unpublished / published images are working independently.
Hi, Sometimes in the Library module, the image displayed is pixelized, this often happens when I go back to a already reviewed image: If I zoom to 100% then unzoom, the image appears sharp again. This bug was not affecting LR versions <= 4.2 and is quite blocker for a photographic tool IMHO Thx.
I run Lightroom 4 on a Windows 8 pc. When I try to export images, I use the file settings to limit the size of the export images to a specified size (2000 K). When I ran LR4 on a Windows7 pc, I had no problems, but using the same settings on a Windows 8 PC, I get an error message after the export is completed indicating "some export operations were not performed" along with a list of files. When I look at the export destination, all files are present, but the size of the files do not meet the 2000K limit I asked for. As I mentioned, the settings are the same as I used without issue with a Windows 7 PC. I have run both LR4 and LR4.3 with the same results. Is this a known error? Is it being addressed? When can I expect a fix? This significantly impacts my workflow. Thanks.
Hi, I just installed LR 4.4RC, uninstalled it (due to a rendering bug for 32 bpc tif files), and reinstalled LR 4.3. LR4.4RC did render my 32bpc file very ugly. So now in LR4.3 back I go to Library -> Previews -> Discard and discard the preview. Then I to to Library -> Previews -> Render and render it again. But ... LR 4.3 shows the old and ugly preview of LR4.4RC. When I go to the develop module in LR 4.3, all looks fine. When I go back to the library module, LR 4.3 shows still the wrong ugly rendering. For screenshots, see https://dl.dropbox.com/u/23843309/Dis.... Please fix this. Thanks. Best regards Manfred Schneider
Hi I have 6 jpeg files that cause problems for Lightroom. They all have the following characteristics. 1) They can be read by Lightroom (added to a catalog) 2) They can be read by Photoshop CS5, exiftool, and ImageVerifier (http://www.imageingester.com) without any problems 3) I cannot save metadata into these files using LR 3 for Macintosh. Upon Saving Metadata I get the exclamation point showing a metadata sync error. Lightroom says "There were unknown errors while writing metadata..." The files were all written by a Minolta camera (that I no longer have), and have been modified by having tags added to them by exiftool (recent command line version, running on Macintosh). I have archived these files. If you would like to look at them, contact me and I can send them to you. The files are not causing problems for me, as I have opened them in Photoshop CS 5 and saved them as fresh copies, which cause no problems for Lightroom now.
Trying to reset a photo to Adobe defaults (Shift key + Reset button) causes the following error: ...and the photo is not reset. Seems to happen for all kind of images, Canon CR2, JPEGs, ... etc. Normal reset seems to work OK.
In LR5, when a photo using Process 2003 is selected, the Post-Crop Vignette Style is instantly changed to "Paint Overlay." It's not possible to undo past this step using Ctrl-Z or Edit > Undo. If more than one step past this Vignette Style change is selected under History, those steps end up being deleted with no option to undo the deletion. For Process 2003, the "Highlight Priority" and "Color Priority" options are no longer available for Post-Crop Vignette Style.
Problem exporting to email in LR4 using Microsoft Outlook. I use Outlook 2010 for email on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. When I export images to email using Lightroom 4.0, the email is sent and it does reach the recipient, but THE EMAIL NEVER APPEARS IN OUTLOOK'S "SENT ITEMS" FOLDER. I depend on Outlook to keep track of correspondence with clients. Because of this problem, I have no record of the email containing the exported images. How doe I fix this? Alan
I imported about 100 photos into Lightroom 4. I then ranked each photo and permanently deleted about 8 photos. I selected all the photos then renamed them to get the numbers correct. Then I started applying keywords. I'm not exactly sure what I did next, perhaps I double clicked on a photo, but then I realized that one photo was rotated, and one of the photos I was about to keyword was missing. Also three of the photos had duplicates. I couldn't have done those changes so fast if I had wanted to.
As described in the title. I just upgraded to Lightroom 5.0 and i have this weird problem. The exported image image results having a lot of Luminance and color noise when i use the resize module for exporting. If I export at full res there is no problem at all. The setting that is giving me the problem is 1600px for the longer edge. If i select 3000px the image is exported correctly Here you can see an example of a section of a photo comparing the problematic export with the correct one
There is no way for a plugin to accurately determine the current source. If the current source is All Photographs, Quick Collection, or Previous Import, the method catalog:getActiveSources() returns the empty table {}, but it should return catalog.kAllPhotos, .kQuickCollectionIdentifier, or .kPreviousImport.
Lightroom 4.3 final (on Windows 7 64bit, with an ATI Radeon HD5450, latest Catalyst 12.10 drivers) gives me some really weird rendering issues in the Develop module that were not present in the RC ("beta 6"). As long as I hover over the knob of a slider after making an adjustment, the image is not properly updated/refined and stays in an unrefined/pixelized state. This happens with ALL sliders in all sections of the Develop module. It was working in LR 4.2 and LR 4.3RC. What's more, when I use the local adjustment brush, I see a MUCH larger area than the size of the brush affected initially as I add a brush stroke; only when I release the mouse button the adjustment is rendered correctly. Again, this too was working in LR 4.2 and LR 4.3RC. Things I have tried: update/revert the graphics drivers (I tried a total of FOUR different driver versions). Update/revert the mouse driver. Delete the ACR cache. Start with a fresh catalog and no plugins, just adding something like 100 photos. Nothi
When scrolling through images in loupe view, using the mousewheel, scrolling / navigation stops when you get to a video file, and it is not possible to scroll in any direction Navigating past the video with arrow keys works fine, and mousewheel scrolling is then usable again (until next video file)I suspect it is related to the new "integrated" video player, since I never had this problem with Lightroom 3.xBug exists on both Windows and Mac, using Lightroom 4.1
