This is a bug possibly connected to an unfixed 6-years old bug regarding the value for 50% gray in 16-bit mode in some Photoshop dialog boxes, see: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop_uses_the_wrong_50_gray_as_the_neutr...The problem:Using Apply Image (Blending: Add, Opacity: 100%, Scale: 1, Offset: -128) on two 50% gray (RGB values of: 16384) layers in 16-bit mode produces non-50% gray layer.Steps to reproduce (with correct 50% gray value of 16384): Create an empty document in 16-bit mode (of any size) Create an empty layer, named "A". Delete the background layer. Fill the layer "A" with 50% gray (Edit>Fill: Contents 50% Gray) Use the Info panel, read RGB values in 16-bit mode of the Info panel: 16384, in 8-bit mode: 128 Duplicate the layer "A", name it "B". Make sure the layer "B" is an active layer. Image>Apply Image: Layer: A, Blending: Add, Scale: 1, Offset: -128 Read the resulting value: 16320 (in 16-bit mode of the Info panel),
This is an ongoing issue it seems so moderators may want to move this post to an existing thread if applicable. I continue to have graphics issues in V20.0.2. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, let me sum this up with photos:I am masking the edge of a cloud layer against the background. The cursor is near the bottom of the screen and is in the process of masking the edge of the cloud. I'm using a soft brush (it seems this always happens while using the brush tool but no specific brush), and this is what is happening:This (below) is what it should look like:Here is my system and PS info:If you have further questions, please let me know. I can get rid of the problem (I think) by switching off the Graphics Acceleration, BUT that's not an option for me. I use a lot of things that require that option. My drivers are completely up to date as is PS. My workaround right now is to turn off the layer then turn it back on, but this is both time consuming and disruptive. I really hope
I edit photos with a lot of adjustment layers (15 or more). Occasionally, one of the layers is a photo filter layer, to warm part of the image. After making all these adjustments, the last thing I do is combine everything (background image and all it's layers) into a smart object where I do my final sharpening. I've noticed that in Photoshop CC 2019, when I package everything into a smart object, a color shift appears in the new smart object anywhere that I used an adjustment photo filter. Those parts shift from the yellow it was to pink/fuscia in tone. So, I open the smart object, and now the same problem is there. So, I re-adjust the adjustment photo filter. First, I highlight that layer, open the properties menu, and click the color so that the Color Picker pops up. As soon as I touch the scroll for the color everything pops back to the way it should be. It's as if there was no problem at all. So I save the psb, which updates the smart object. Most of the time this has fixed the pro

I've seen this post here: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/larger_feather_radius which says how the selection feathering radius was turned up from 250 to 1000. I've confirmed that this is the case when using the GUI.However, when trying to do the same thing via scripting, either using the DOM or using the output of ScriptListener, values above 250 give the same visual result as putting 250 (and thus, different from when entering those values in the GUI).Specifically: app.activeDocument.selection.feather(new UnitValue(amt,"px")); and var desc1 = new ActionDescriptor();desc1.putUnitDouble( charIDToTypeID( "Rds " ), charIDToTypeID( "#Pxl" ), amt );desc1.putBoolean( stringIDToTypeID( "selectionModifyEffectAtCanvasBounds" ), true );executeAction( charIDToTypeID( "Fthr" ), desc1, DialogModes.NO );
I'm just not happy with this version of PS - it's buggy and frustrating. When using Filter, Render, Lighting Effects PS crashes every single time. I've also reported on this forum the problems with the Adjustment Layers and using Blend modes. They are not working as they should. The Constrain Link doesn't work. It's a bug. . . and yes I know that you don't hold Shift to maintain aspect ratio now but when you un-check the Maintain Aspect Ratio constrain link on the toolbar and then use transform it still maintains aspect ratio. . . un-checking the link should disable aspect ratio shouldn't it? The shift key + transform disables aspect ratio but doesn't correspond with the constrain link on the tool bar. https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/cc-2019-blend-modes-not-workinghttps://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/cc-2019-layer-blend-mode-color-isnt-working-c...https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_fa
In the "Select and Mask" dialog the default keyboard shortcut for "Decrease Brush Size" on german keyboard layouts is not working. The default key is the "Ö"-key. It gets registered as the "O"-key and therefore changes the view to "onion skin" instead of changing the brush size.
It's an old bug ... but still annoying:Before Photoshop 2015.5 Generator exported only visible layers. Since 2015.5 all layers are exported, that leads to complexity, unwanted files and unnecessary work.Adobe planned to fix this bug (internal bug number is PS-3724) in spring 2017, but it seems their mind has changed ...So, please Adobe, fix it in spring 2019.Dear readers, please like this post, maybe it helps.
The "automatically create new snapshot when saving" function in the Document History in Photoshop CC 2019 is not working at the moment, the snapshot is not created.
When you "export as", Photoshop will choose the last folder you exported to, not the folder where your PSD is saved, which 2018 did. Is that intentional? It makes more sense to choose the folder you are working in, not the last one.
having strange redraw issues...Type gets cut off, images lose their masking. Here's a link to a video of one of the issues.https://www.dropbox.com/s/r8co8nl05z5pvm3/photoshop_issues.mov?dl=0latest version 20.0.1Mac book pro 2017Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Hello! There is a behavior change that had existed in many earlier versions of Photoshop that no longer works, and though it appears to be minor, is wreaking havoc on my complicated actions and workflows. I am running this on an iMac, MacOS 10.14 Mojave.Expected behavior (2018 and earlier):I click on a folder or layer in the Layers palette.I hold down [command)+New Folder button at the bottom of the Layers palette.A new folder is created BELOW the originally selected folder or layer.New behavior (2019):I click on a folder or layer in the Layers palette.I hold down [command]+New Folder button at the bottom of the Layers palette.A new folder is created ABOVE the originally selected folder or layer. This is the same behavior as if I did not hold down the [command] modifier. Please fix this.Thank you,Bruce
I am trying to use the monotone/duotone options in Photoshop 2019. I choose my color and click on the curve to adjust the values. If I decide I don't want a certain value in the box, I delete it, but instead of staying as an empty box it will place a 0 (zero). When you click OK, this causes the curve to go completely wonky. This did not happen in previous versions. Anyone else having this issue? The attached is just to show the zeros in the boxes (box 30, 80, and 95) where they should be empty. Even when I tab over to the next boxes a zero will be inserted.I have updated to the most recent Photoshop 20.0.1 release hoping this would have been fixed but the issue is still there.
Found a problem. With latest version of PS and Nvidia drivers - eyedropper tool cannot sample colors outside PS window. it only samples black. Here is my full test case: https://forums.adobe.com/message/10230354#10230354
I have mentioned this earlier, but I think the smoothing effect in photoshop behaves wrong. THe main smoothing works, but the way it catches up doesn't make sense and is very annoying when painting. What I mean is that you move the brush to a new location, with smoothing on it lags behind, but when you stop the cursor, the stroke stops a certain distance from where you end your stroke. So you have to guess when you should stop paint for the line to stop at the right place. The stroke should have a minimum speed and maximum speed (which is what smoothing % increase/decrease), so it catches up with the cursor like a trail in water or as how inertia would naturally behave.
When I mouse over photoshop it brings the window to top. This is really annoying. I use "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse" / Mouse follow focus / XMouse window tracking. To enable this, follow one of the directions listed here https://superuser.com/questions/954021/how-do-you-enable-focus-follows-mouse-in-windows-10 or use this tool https://joelpurra.com/projects/X-Mouse_Controls/
Help, I download MacOSmojave and now photoshop cc 19 keeps crashing I have uninstalled it and installed it again, I have shut my iMac down and opened again with the shift key to reboot, can some one help me please

In the Save/Export-dialogue:When I want to save a file and I click on a name in the folder I'm in, PSD not only takes over the filename but also the extension, which if course is wrong. You can see it in this very short movie I made:http://www.hoch7.ch/custom/psdFileextension.mp4Best, Lorena
I saved a psd file that I had been working on for days. I was saving as I was working on it, just in case. Yesterday, I saved it onto my desktop, and closed the file. I went to open it directly afterwards, and I got the error message: COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR REQUEST BECAUSE OF A PROGRAM ERROR. I went to the forums and tried some of the thing recommended. I tried opening it on CC 2018, 2017, 2014 all upgraded, including the Cloud, and it won't open my file in any of the versions. I am on a Mac OS Sierra 10.12.5. This is not the first time this has happened, it first happened in January, right after the new year, with about a dozen png and psd files that I had been working on at that time, that I now can't use or know how to open. They open fine in Preview, all the detail is there, but will not open in photoshop. Some of these files have massive amounts of layers, just thought I'd add this. To top this off, photoshop would not let me save some items in png format, and I couldn't figure o
Dont really sure, is it only my problem or common one, but...In previous versions of PS i can stop Image Processor process with Esc button, it was very helpful. Nowadays i have to close PS via windows process explorer... I think you shoud return back Esc stop button
Issue: Various edits made to the current document do not refresh the screen preview or the navigator panel until the canvas is clicked again, or a keyboard shortcut is invoked. This includes such interactions as showing and hiding a layer, entering quickmask mode, making a lasso selection, and using the Undo command. After trying numerous fixes, I eventually narrowed it down to a single preference which is causing the problem for me. The issue seems to be caused by disabling the "Start" Workspace in Preferences > General. I fixed the problem by re-enabling the "Start" Workspace. As soon as I re-enable it and restart, the issue goes away. I can reliably reproduce the issue by again disabling the option.Note: This issue began for me a couple weeks ago using CC 2017 18.1.1, and is still occurring after updating to CC 2018 19.0. I am on Mac OS X 10.11.6.See the video below for a comparison of the normal with the default setting ("Start" Workspace Enabled), and then with th
I recently upgraded to Photoshop CC 2019 from 2018 and more recently still, to Mojave. I'm working on an iMac 27 (Mojave) with 16 GB RAM. After installing the programs I set my color settings in the Edit>Color Settings panel to ProPhoto, selected the Profile Mismatches and Missing Profiles boxes, and lastly set the Advanced Controls: Desaturate Monitor Colors to 10%. What I'm finding is that if the computer goes to sleep or I turn it off then back on, all those settings are reset to the default positions. I tried making the privacy adjustment in my Apple Settings window as was recommended for CC 2018, I deleted my preferences, rebooted the program then adjusted my preferences again to the above, but none of this is helping. So far it seems to only be this panel that gets reset, but I'm not 100% sure of that. This is concerning as the stock agency I'm with requires the photos be in aRGB and I just discovered that they've been processed in sRGB because I didn't think to recheck the se
Photoshop CC 2014, CC, and CS6 mouse click getting stuck bug in Lion, Mountain Lion, and Yosemite, but not in Mavericks. Here's a very annoying bug that has been popping up in various versions of Photoshop and OS X over the past years. I have used many tablets and computers during this time, various versions of Photoshop and OS X, yet this bug remains. The only time I never had the bug was when using Mavericks. The bug involves about every 10th click on the INTERFACE (NOT ON THE CANVAS) getting "stuck". This means that I can click on a slider, a curve point, or anything that's not on the canvas, and even after releasing the mouse/pen, the interface will think I am still clicking until I click again.Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frZvR... may be an OS X bug since it does not happen in Mavericks but it does happen in Lion, Mountain Lion and Yosemite. However, it only ever happens in Photoshop, and never in any other app. Even in Photoshop, it only ever happens on the interface and n
I am using Photoshop CC (v 20). As of the new update, when I attempt to duplicate a single layer or group of multiple selected layers, the duplicated layer(s) are re-positioned outside of the canvas. I must drag them back to the correct location on the canvas. If I attempt to duplicate multiple selected layers at once in my layers panel, Photoshop will place them at the top of the layers panel and outside of the artboard the original layers are located in.
