In Photoshop CS6 I see a checkerboard pattern (and a white line around the layer) in liquify if I check 'show backdrop' and I show a non-opaque layer 'In Front'. Is there any way to get rid of this as It obscures the layer I'm working on and makes Liquify useless? Or disable hardware acceleration for Liquify alone? example layer setup PS CS6, Windows Ultimate x64. ASUS ATI RADEON HD 6950 2GB (latest drivers - 12.4 then 12.6), 16gb RAM, 60gb partitioned ssd scratch disk. p.s. Is this related to the other 'jagged preview' bug (I also have) with the AMD/ATI cards?

After installing the PS 13.0.2 update I get the error "Could not complete your request because of a program error." when opening certain files that contain a lot of layers (over 100). I'm on OSX 10.8.2 and have PS installed via the Creative Cloud subscription. I tried the repairing permissions that people have suggested for similar problems in the past without success. For the moment I've had to revert to a backup of 13.0.1 in order to finish my project. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Random crashes since the Retina Update. Wasn't doing anything special. The first crash I don't even think I had any documents open. The second one, I had three small documents open and wasn't performing any major actions. It managed to recover my documents, thankfully. I have three extensions installed (Cut and Slice Me, GuideGuide, Bjango Tools), but had not used them or opened those panels in that session or in those files. I submitted the crash logs, and have those available if needed.

Hi there, I recently got the Adobe Cloud subscription and have discovered this problem with the font styles duplicating themselves in Photoshop. They are the same font style, but for some reason they appear multiple times. It gradually gets worse and worse as I continue to work on a file. This has never happened before in the previous versions of Photoshop. Here's what it looks like: Screenshot #1 Then after awhile of working: Screenshot #2 I am working in OSX Lion on an iMac. I've checked Font Book and any duplicate fonts have been turned "Off". I tried to delete the duplicates and use the fonts in Photoshop again, and this appears to have solved the problem... Temporarily. It's nothing critical, but it is a tad annoying having to scroll through a huge list of duplicate font styles! Thanks 🙂 -Christina

Layers shift by a pixel when using Image->Image Rotation-> 90° CW when the following two conditions are met: 1) Canvas size is an even number of pixels in one dimension and odd in the other. 2) Layer is not touching the top or right edge with the odd pixel dimension.

Version 17 of a file I've used many times before, is about 20 layers and used layer comps for each layer. File is only 57mb. Any ideas? Had this problem recently with both CS5/6 and I'm using 10.7.4

While using the magnetic lasso tool on a Macbook Pro, gesture-based zooming and scrolling does not work. After exiting lasso tool, all attempted gestures play out. That is, the image zooms and scrolls wildly until they're through.

In Photoshop CS4 the user is able to move the image around, and zoom in and out while using the "Polygonal Lasso tool". This feature continues to work even when a point or more has been selected. This feature is no longer available in CS5. The image now locks into place with limited image scrolling, and zero zoom capabilities. Can this setting be changed in version CS5 to mirror the capability of CS4?

Photoshop CS6 beta is... the most unstable version of Photoshop I've used in the past ten years. Drag and drop a file? Crash. Export to PNG? Crash. Use Liquify? Crash. Use Iris Blur? Crash. Do nothing at all? Crash for no reason at all. And already on a big job with a VERY tight deadline, upon momentarily closing two PSDs I'd spent five hours a piece on, I tried to open the files again for comparison and they were both corrupt. I did nothing whatsoever- only saved and closed them- but Photoshop CS6 corrupted both to the point where I couldn't reopen them in any version of Photoshop. It's gotten to the point where I simply cannot use the program at all, and hope things are fixed in the actual release. Ten years I've been using Photoshop with not a single hitch, and now this beta is simply monumentally broken. If you know ANY way to fix the stability- whether it's a reinstall or whatever- PLEASE let me know. I'm using CS5 in the meantime but I'd love to take advantage of all of the impro

Tearing a tab into its own window makes it impossible to move. (I don't use tabs because they're too inflexible.) If I try to move a document, it snaps to a totally different spot. If I move it multiple times, it slowly migrates across the screen until it is impossible to work on at all. Turning off the tab setting altogether does not help this problem. In fact, at this rate, doing so would make getting anything done impossible. Secondarily, it would also be nice if every new document window did not appear in my toolbar, because then I have to alt+tab through potentially 10 open documents each time I switch to Photoshop. Plus, it's really cluttered.

Monday I was told by Adobe Support on the Phone that Bug # 2737069 is not in Photoshop so I spent $200 for the upgrade. The is NOT true Bug # 2737069 is still there one need to regress to CS3. I feel I was robed come on Adobe fix Bug # 2737069...

Photoshop CS6 has this new Paragraph and Character Styles now. My request concerns this style sheet feature in the Middle Eastern version of Adobe Photoshop. The Paragraph Style settings window lacks the Paragraph direction option. This option is crucial for the type direction as alignment is not enough here. For clear idea, the localization team can refer to InDesign Middle Eastern version which the team has added Paragraph Direction in the Paragraph Style under "Indents and Spacing" category setting. Here is a scenario to clarify where this is crucial. My default type settings are for Arabic text "right to left" hence font is Arabic, paragraph direction is set as right to left, alignment too, however if I would like to set a Paragraph Style, I cannot select paragraph direction in the style settings window, hence I must select this manually from Paragraph Panel otherwise any commas or full stops would show in the wrong location specially when mixing Arabic/English text in the same par

The Character and Paragraph panel blank out fields that have multiple values (when selecting text with differing formatting). But, in the Layers Panel, fields with multiple values are displayed with the value of the whatever layer in the selection is on top. This is not only inconsistent, but can make the user incorrectly believe that the selected layers share the same value. It should be updated to reflect the behavior of the Character/Paragraph panels (and other applications). Not sure if I should post this under "Idea" or "Problem", but I consider it a minor UI consistency problem. 🙂

In CS3, that feature was working like a charm but in CS4 and CS5 it became a pain. I used to work with hidden sidebars and in CS3 i could use it very often. But in CS5, I have to use tab or shift+tab shortcut key to show and hide them. Here is an example. I put the mouse leftmost of the screen as a reflex. But it can't get the black transparent band to show to toolbar. Note: It's same in Adobe Illustrator, too.

I have a problem exporting layer comps in cs5. When I try to do so I get the message: 'No layer comps found in document!' Is this a bug?

Rulers in Photoshop don't change/adjust when you zoom in and out with Ctrl+ and Ctrl- I am currently using Photoshop CS5 64-bit on Windows 7 SP1.

Photoshop CS5/Epson R3000/Windows XP. Get error "because the requested printer does not exist" when attempting to reprint a file. Can select another printer, then return to R3000 and print, but this is a nuisance. Is there a fix for this?

I've encountered a bug when using a Layer Based Slice and the Drop Shadow Layer Effect. See the image below: For some reason, Photoshop insists on increasing the vertical and horizontal size of a Layer Based Slice by one pixel when using a drop shadow. Is anyone else seeing the same bug?

Hello, PS CS5 > Preferences > Units & Rulers > Screen Resolution choosing pixels/cm causes erronous results (picture displays at 1/2.54 dimension of what it should be) for viewing by applying the command Zoom Tool Print Size button, but displays correctly while applying either Zoom Tool right-click menu Print Size or View Print Size. On the other hand, if pixels/inch is specified as units in Screen Resolution all three ways of showing Print Size works correctly. Thus, there seems to be a programming bug for the Zoom Tool Print Size button command when pixels/cm has been chosen in Screen Resolution (specifically, the correction by 2.54 for changing from inch to cm has not been implemented). Five out of six ways work correctly. I suggest you correct the sixth alternative. Note that all manual measurements were correct while displaying the print size (cm x cm) on the calibrated screen (94.00 pixels/inch, 37.058 pixels/cm), except for the case with pixels/cm and the Zoom Tool

Dear Sir, Madam, I bought a Master Collection CS5 in English. I recently upgrade (1 or 2 months ago) via the Adobe Store and bought the Master Collection CS. 5.5 in DUTCH (DVD’s in a box)! The Photoshop Help function in the English version works well! But the Adobe Help function, as well as the Support Center does not work in DUTCH (only in Photoshop!! - not in Illustrator or Indesign,....) The Help Function in DUTCH is very important to me, because DUTCH is my first language. There will appear a pop-up window with a message that I need to reinstall, but it works absolutely not! Windows 7 64-bit, CS5 64-bit 12.0.4, Canon Pro9000 MkII. I just started printing on CS5. I can provide file(s) to duplicate. I have noticed that CS5 remembers my printer driver settings application wide. I also notice that CS5 saves print settings in each PSD file (photoshop manages and selected profile). This may be contributing to the problem. I open a file. 16-bit, Prophoto PSD file. I open the print dialog. The dialog is defaulted to printer color management for the "bad" files. Open the printer driver settings. Check the settings. The driver settings are correct. Paper, quality, no color management. Click ok. Now the dialog changes to photoshop manages colors and the profile selected is some generic canon bubble jet profile. I select the correct profile. A red river paper profile in this case. Print. Bad print. The colors with some amount of red in them has the red channel pumped up. Many colors are okay. Start with a new file (one not worked around). Open file, change print setti
