Around the release of the S23U Samsung broke RAW support, probably with switching to JPG XL and doing it wrong. https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/CamCyclopedia/JPEG-XL-Image-Codec/ba-p/15356525 Current DNG files are absolutely useless and have no dynamic range advantage over the jpg (taken at the same time/settings) and they are incompatible with Adobes AI Denoise because they are pre-processed probably 8bit JPGs in a DNG container.
What happened to the presets for Camera Raw’s Color Balance? My only choices in the pulldown now are As Shot, Auto, and Custom. Gone are options like Cloudy, Fluorescent, Tungsten, etc.. I don’t use Raw very often so I don’t know when these choices disappeared. Thinking it was a bug that was fixed, I updated to the most recent this morning (16.5?), but I still do not have the additional presets. Thanks, Marc Chep
"I have a problem with Camera Raw, I can't get it to open in Photoshop, but I also can't open it or perform any function like uninstalling it from Creative Cloud."
Hint: Originally I posted at the wrong forum part (Camera Raw) and therefore my post got lost (I think). The symptoms are purple lines on the AI improved DNG files in lets say each 10th processed *.dng file. In the link at the end of this text you will find 3 files: _DSF2201.dng _DSF2201-Enhanced-NR.dng and LrC_12.4_2023-06-15.png 1. is a *.raf file which got converted to *.dng. (I do this with all my Fujifilm RAW files.) 2. is the AI enhanced / processed file with purple line at the top edge as well as the right edge. Default settings used at enhancement. 3. is my LrC system information. LrC is running on Win 10 V22H2, on two (very) different machines. Both show the same purple line artifacts. The fix made at LrC 12.4 may help for the original provided X-H1 *.raf files (from user Japhotofin) but not for my files. Can someone confirm my finding? Thank you! Since the July 2024 update, the ACR grid in crop mode does not have the option for rule of thirds. This is a feature I use all the time. Will this be reinstated, or is there a work around?
When I try to edit Raws from ProMode of my Samsung S23 Ultra it does not work, I can't recover any highlights that aren't also in the jpg and de-noise is not working. Please fix this. Are you editing the embedded preview instead of the raw data by accident?
Now, with the noise reduction feature in camera raw i really need the possibility to sort thumbnails in the filmstrip by file type Best Torben
I just downloaded the captioned update, does this update have bug fixes? If so what are they?
Hi everyone,In ACR my "before/after" toggle key (or the backslash key) sometimes won't flip back to the edited image... It is a random thing, some images it will work fine and others I do an edit, look at the before after and it will only show me the original image!Any ideas how to fix it? Running the latest ACR and Photoshop versions 31/08/204 on an Imac m3 2024.Thanks

Hi, recently I had a problem opening RAW files. No matter which way I try, the file does not open; it just freezes Photoshop completely. I have already tried all the available options (upgrades, uninstallation, compatibility, report), and nothing works—it just continues crashing. Can someone tell me why this happens? Thank you a lot.
Let me preface this with saying that I am an idiot and probably doing something very basic very wrong, BUT - everything seems to have changed since I updated my MacOS to Sonoma 14.6.1. Masks - I select Brush, I expect a big circle, which changes the bits of the image I brush, according to how I adjust the settings. Now - when I select a new mask, I start to brush, it darkens the whole image, and then appears to even lighten it in bits, and whatever adjustments I make don't appear. Also - when I select a new mask/brush .... nothing happens.I think it's K for a new mask, and that I should be able to see the pins and select the masks that I want to work on, but they don't appear - only my bog standard cursor.Anyone else had similar, or am I just being a dolt?
Camera Raw 14.5, Photoshop 2020, OS windows 10I got error when trying to select subject or select sky (the operation could not be completed)NOTE: After reinstalation of windows 10 I got this error earlier it was working fine on same PC
I would like to propose that Adobe, amongst other things, prioritizes the functionality of its useful AI Denoise tool so that it works with JPEGs and Apple ProRaw, etc. I understand that the information in a JPEG is not as detailed as in some RAW files so the utility of the tool might be curtailed a bit, but this has not stopped Topaz, for instance, from extending its functionality to JPEGs etc. Many thanks
I upgraded to 25.11.0 20240716.r.706 b326a7d x64 today. And since the upgrade the camera raw function would not load and show that messege box (I always set language to Korean) Is there anyone out there who had the same problem as me?
I was working in ACR today when I got an error The Graphics processor has encountered an out of memory error " Due to a run time error GPU acceleration has been disabled for the remainder of the session. I clicked on OK, and when I tried to go back in ACR to pull a photo I'm editing , it would not allow me to get back in. Not sure what to do. Windows 10 on a Desktop my graphics card is Nvidia GE Force RTX 3060 ( just did a new release update on 5/18 What else do I need to add to my post for help ? I'm not very computer literate, but I'll do my best. Thank you Janice Butler
I am running Ps 25.11 and ACR 16.5.1 on an M2 Studio Mac. It has been my longstanding preference to open all files in ACR when opening files in Ps. With the new ACR update (August 27. 2024), Ps crashes both 1) when I attempt to open an image file and 2) when I attempt to access preference menus for ACR. Hence, Ps and ACR are not operating at all.
Hi all,I am having and issue where Just opening raw is causing my CPU you have very high usage. It has crashed to the point it forces me to open the bios a couple of times. But it is very laggy. I do have multiple pictures open on it to batch preset edit and then add in the Lens blur manual. My gear is sub par so I have to add these things post process. MY full specs are: Windows 10 pro, 11th Gen Core i5-11600K, ASUS PRIME Z590-P, 32 GB corsair vengance 3600 MHZ ram, Strix 2080 Ti GPU. Files are on a 1TB MVME for context. Does anyone have any suggestions. I posted on a photgoraphy group and most said it should not be doing this but we can not figure out why it is doing this. Also MY temps are fine and not getting any higher than 70C and other programs are operating normally. Before I changed to a more indepth edit style I was not having this issue as well. I am Having this issue in PS as well when I get to using more layers. I don't Use AI generative fill hardly at all.TIA &
É necessário implementar o AutoSave no CameraRaw. Já chega de ficar perdendo horas de trabalho no referido plugin por causa de queda de energia ou por algum travamento no PC.
Hello,I've noticed this issue a while ago. Whenever I open a Sony RAW file in Photoshop with Camera Raw, the colours in the clouds are rendered with strange discolouration and artefacts when I use camera matching Color Profiles. I have tried multiple files, lossless compressed and uncompressed. When using the Adobe Color Profiles they are rendered better, but the colors are completely different and quite difficult to change to the desired, original camera matching ones. The same files are rendered beautifully and accurately in Capture One. I will attach relevant screenshots with the same file edited in Camera matching and Adobe Color Profiles and in Capture one.

Hi everyone, I use dng_validate.exe to post-process DNG files, but I have a problem. When I save the output in sRBG colorspace (or any other colorspace) the images are over-exposed. When I post-process the DNG files using Rawtherapee or Fast CinemaDNG and save the output in sRGB space I don't have this over-exposure problem. What might be the reason, and how can I solve it? Thank you in advance.
Hello all, The following problem with my combination "X-H2 + Lightroom Classic + Mac / iPad (software, Mac and camera on the latest SW/FW version)": actually I thought LR did not support the HEIF format, so took a few test shots, the files are recognised. Great. I think HEIF is the future-proof format (10-bit). However, every now and then files are marked as unreadable. I currently have 15 files on the SD card (Sandisk Extreme Pro 300MBit/s). LR Classic on the MacBook Pro recognises 13 files, LR on the iPad recognises 14 files. In the Finder's preview view I can look at all 15 files. So the problem is probably more with LR. Under these conditions, I'll probably have to switch back to JPG. I have already formatted the memory card several times (in the camera), but the problem always occurs sporadically. Thank you very much in advance for your tips and/or suggestions. Many greetings Marco
Title: Inconsistency in Lens Corrections for Different File Formats The Lens Corrections results in Lightroom Classic/ACR are inconsistent across different file formats, particularly between raw files (eg.ARW) and HDR files (-HDR.dng), where Distortion Corrections and Vignetting Corrections differ, leading to imperfect alignment during further post-processing. This issue is especially pronounced in photos taken with zoom lenses. RAW files: - - - HDR files: - - - 50%+50%: - - - A typical example:In the same cityscape night scene, I took a series of [bracketed exposure photos] for creating a [High Dynamic Range background] and a series of [time-lapse photos] for maximum value synthesis of [TAIL LIGHT TRAILS]. I merged the [bracketed exposure photos] to generate a -HDR.dng, made slight adjustments, and then synchronized the photo settings with the [time-lapse photos], exporting all as TIF files for manual post-synthesis. However, when I overlap
So I have an old PC with i7 4790 and 16mb RAM, integrated graphics. I know that lastest versions of Camera RAW need DirectX 12 which I don't have so I've rolled back to the last version of Camera RAW that doesn't need DirectX 12.Everything I read and view about Photoshop/LR states that its the CPU and RAM that are important, not the GFX card. So why does Camera RAW now need it? All the GFX cards I'm looking at are fairly expensive gaming cards, something that I don't need. So what are the minimum specs for a GFX card that will allow me to use the latest versions of Camera RAW? I'm guessing any card that supports DirectX 12? Or am I missing something? I just don't want to pay for gaming capability that I won't use. Thanks in advance.
