Captivate

When I publish a course with a 360 image, I am able to navigate in the image with the mouse or touchpad, but not with the finger on a touchscreen device like iPad or Surface. Are there special settings I have to observe? It would be very frustrating, if this would not work poroperly. Thanks for any advice, regards

I have been trying to finish this project and I have lots of bullets on a single slide.I am using a single text caption to hold several bullet points.When I try to animate this the entire text appears at the same time.I want each bullet to appear separately.The only way I have been able to achieve this by creating separate text captions for each bullet.Then aligning each of them separately. This has given me the end result.But are you telling me Captivate 8 does not have a simpler way of doing this?In PPT you can do this by selecting Effect Options and selecting by paragraph.Can anyone help? This would be super helpful.Thanks.

Captivate 2017 10.0.0.192Windows 10Blank project/non-responsiveHello,I have a 15 question quiz that is built from three question pools of 10 questions each (pool depth of two, so each contributes five questions to the quiz). The pools run in order, 07, 08, and 09 (questions aren't shuffled between these).Regardless of what I try, the first pool on the list in the question pool manager has an error shield and 15 "Random Questions using this pool" associated with it. I am new to Captivate and am using Captivate 2019. I am using someone else's slide but would like to modify it for what I am doing. I have a call-out shape that is linked to an image. There is an audio clip that, when played, appears in the call-out shape. I do not know what I need to do to have a new audio file and have the closed captioning reflect that in the call-out shape. Hello, I have created a project which includes interactive slides and software simulations. There are 2 simulations and 2 slides between them. When I review the whole project, AC skips the two slides and goes from one software simulation to the next one. If I start the project from the last slide of the 1st simulation AC does not skip them. What is the reason for this behaviour? There is no branching, just linear. Thanks!,Nassia

I've built a drag and drop with several answers go to one of two drop sources.I was testing it and I noticed that some, but not all, wll move to the first drop source if I simply click on the drag object, whether it's correct or not. What is causing this on some but not others? Is there a simple fix or do I need to re-do it from scratch? Thanks.

I have tried several different settings to create a software simulation and all have failed, I get one screen shot and that is it. The video demo works, but then again, there are several screen capture prograns that can do that. Is this normal the software sim doesn;t work? I get one screen shot when doing several task and on one try I got just three screen shots, one per slide, with no click box or anything. On preview it would just show each slide for a few seconds, then advance to the next one with no interaction possible. 

I have a lot of courses I've built in Captivate 2017.  Starting today, a published course won't play audio on the first screen.It will play audio on other screens by using the TOC or advancing screens with a "Next" button that simply advances to the beginning of the next screen.I just went back and checked some published output from older courses (like from a year or two ago) and they won't play either (clicking index.html in the published folder).  What could have caused this, and most importantly, how can I fix this? Many thanks,Eric

I have a question regarding adding a D&D slide to the quiz at the end of a module.I selected "include in quiz" and "add to total" already.It is a quiz with multiple question with a "submit all" at the end. Is the D&D really part of that quiz in the sense that you can go back and forth within all the quiz questions and change things before you submit all your answers at the end?Or will the D&D always have to be "submitted" right at the end of that very slide? Which means that that it is tricky to put it in the middle of the other quiz slides.Also, if there are any hidden pitfalls when trying to add D&D to a quiz kindly let me know any additional tips.Thanks a lot as always! 

I don't know if this is possible, but...I have a request to build a drag and drop containing 12 drag sources (smart shapes) and two drop zones. Each drop zone has 6 correct answers. Rather than have a submit button and feedback, the request is to have each drag source change colour to red if dropped on the incorrect drop zone, or to green when dropped on the correct one.  The user should be able redrag each source, so if they drop an item incorrectly (it runs red) they can drag it over to the correct zone and it turns green. I've dug deep for this - I can do it if there was only one correct answer for each zone, simply by having the object actions of the drop zone change the state of the drag source, but having multiple correct answers is a different story. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have this state change when an object is dropped?Thanks! 

I know that you can edit the preferences with no project open and have those save the preferences for all future projects created. I also know that I can set preferences like the default duration of shapes for a particular project. If I send that file to another Captivate user, will those preferences get maintained for the other user?

Hi all, I am trying to add a feature to our Captivate lessons that allows users to change the playback speed to .75x, 1.5x and 2x. This feature would ideally affect both the speed of the slide and the voiceover, though I would be satisfied if it just affected the speed of the voiceover narration. I have tried following this thread for guidance, but when I try to select all audio on the page, nothing returns:https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate/variable-audio-speed-options/td-p/10534223 I combed through the published HTML file to see if I could find how exactly the audio is being played for each slide, but oddly enough I couldn't find any elements for audio. This might be because it's contained within an iFrame? I also tried looking into the Fast Forward function that Captivate has, but it mutes the audio.  For reference, we don't have computer-generated audio -- we had someone record our script and we put the .mp3 files into the lessons.  Is there

can i use the audio button in the skin editor for audio attached to objects on a slide? it seems the audio button that shows up in the playbar from the skin edior will only control audio attached directily to a slide but i have audio attached to different states and pop up that i would like the button to turn on and off as well.  

Hello, Presenter is well installed, I can see the tab and everything seems to work fine. But each time I click on the Publish button, a dialog box asks to update Flash Player before using this option. Of course, I tried to update Flash player on every browser on my PC but still get this message. I tried to install an old Office 2013 version and it worked but once I install Office 365 on top of it, it gets rid of Office 2013 and I Presenter does not work again. Is Presenter 11.1 ok with Office 365 ?Thanks for your help.

I'm running with the latest Captivate 9 version (9.0.1.320) and I need to paste some objects inside a shape state to create a button and other to try to solve an animation issue. All elements are already designed and positioned in the stage, so I want to just copy and paste them inside the shape's state, but no matter what I do, cutting or copying, I can't get to paste them in the shape. Is there a way to do it? I really don't want to import the elements from the library from scratch because I will mess up the design.Thank you!

I'm trying to select and scale three objects (imported PSD files) at the same time. It seems like it will only scale one at a time (i.e., two of the selected objects do not scale, while the other does). Is there something I'm overlooking, or is Captivate just really deficient in this area?Alternatively, is there anywhere you can enter a scale percentage manually? I want all of the scaled objects to remain the same size in proportion to one another.

We have just upgraded to Adobe Captivate 2019 and the published courses on our LMS are getting this error message when users try to access links. I have looked throught the community and this has been raised before but the last response was 2019, so I was wondering is there is an update. Thanks  

After failing a quiz, some learners will close the window instead of retaking immediately. If/When they do this, when they restart and return to the quiz the 1st question slide appears, prepopulated with their previous answer and the Submit button is not functional. They are stuck. Clearing cache/cookies in Chrome does not resolve the issue. Any advice on how to resolve this?

Hi I want to output quiz results to a file which the dev team will then report on. Is this possible? I have searched the community and it doesn't look promising but any help to achieve my goal would be greatly appreciated.  ThanksMichelle

I am trying to set up a LAMP server to have Captivate report quiz results to. Here is the problem...I have researched and cant find any real solutions (everything is different and based on olser versions of Captivate).Published the course and setup to report quiz info to internal server. Take the quiz, says Post all answers, click yes, comes up and asks for name and email. Enter the info and click Send. Comes up with the unknown error. What am i doing wrong? Is there a detailed explaination of how to set all this up? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone - I own Creative Cloud and Captivate and am having lots of issues with licenses. They are both on the same account, the same email/login/password. When I login to captivate I have to select "personal" and not "creative cloud", or it doesn't recognize my license. The problem is that when I then login to creative cloud apps it stays on 'personal' and doesn't recognize my Creative app licenses. I have to go into Local > Users > username > AppData > Local > Adobe > OOBE and then delete the opm.db file or I can't login. BUT after doing that, I can't login to captivate anymore unless I delete that same file because now it's pointing automatically at my Creative license and not my Personal license.How can I alternate apps without having to delete a file in a hidden folder everytime?!

I'm trying to Publish my Captivate course with the output set as zipped files. I've made the course SCORM compliant as far as I can tell but when I publish the course, there are no Manfiest files so the course does not work on our LMS. Anyone know why there would be no Manifest file? I've checked Zip files and Export HTML in the Publish screen...and it continues to just publish two .swf files and no imsmanifest.xml

Is there any way of caturing testing data (questions, right/wrong answers, etc) without using a LMS?

When I preview the project, I have an image that looks like a link to a file and when I click it, the same object appears but the rest of the background is transparent.I can't find any issues in the properties.  Here is a screenshot where you can see the image in the lower corner of the blue text box. When I click the icon, the result is shown in the 2nd screenshot. 

Hi, How to publish adobe captivate to youtube? There is always a pop up message telling me that my browser does not support. I changed to another two browser but the message was still the sameI want to make a quiz video where the video will stop at certain timing and the user should answer the question in order to continue to watch the video. If the answer is wrong, the video will be back to the previous video.I want to buy the captivate but if there is no function to publish it as mp4 or youtube video then it is no point.I tried to save it as video but the quiz is not working. It only works when I published as html but the link provided is only local host link mean from my network.And when I tried, if the answer if wrong, it really broght me back to the previous video but i cannot answer the quiz anymore it is stuck.I do not know if all these problem persist because of the trial version or it will be the same with the purchase version as I really want to buy and have sent email t
