When I click New Project, Captivate displays the following error messages: Failed to create Cache folder: Falling back to the default locationCaptivate CacheFollowed by: Failed to create default project caceh folder: falling back to %temp% Yes, I noted the typos 🙄 Clicking either [Retry] or [Cancel] has no effect. Thinking Captivate is trying to create a cache in a non-exsistent location (I neither have a second physical drive lettered D nor a network drive mapped to D), according to the title bars in the dailog boxes:D:\workspace\release\dev\source\components\projectnslides\CPint... I tried to open the Preferences menu from Edit. Except, as soon as I did that, this error message appears: An unexpected error has occurred, which may cause Captivate to behave unexpectedly. You can restart Captivate with backed-up project.  As soon as I click [OK], the Error Report for "Adobe Captivate" dialog appear and Captivate crashes back to t

Hi all, I am fairly new to captivate classic and need some guidance. I need to add a button to the quiz results slide, that should be hidden unless the user fails the quiz twice. The button then needs to be able to reset the quiz score to be redone and take them back to the beginning of the entire course... does that make sense? In summary:- hidden button until quiz is failed twice- resets quiz score and takes user to beginning of course (not just quiz) I would be grateful for any assistance if this is possible?? I have tried, but have had no success as of yet

I completed a project and when I try to preview it, it shows a blank webpage. I tried to preview other projects and they load fine. I tried to clear the cache and it made no different. Publish settings are correct. Not sure what the issue is.  This is the URL when I try to preview. Hello,  I am working with trial version of Adobe Captivate to test out if the software will work for my company. I am unable to upload premade content to the platform and wondering if its because I am in a trial version or if the platform does not support that option. Example the content is in a powerpoint and I have converted it everyway I can to see if I can upload it.  My trial version IMPORT function only gives me 2 options. Import CSVProject content and closed captionsCustom design options.  Please advise anything helps! We would love to be able to use this platform     

I have created a quiz in Captivate 6 (in Windows 7) that includes 6 questions. However, Captivate appears to think I have 10 questions. A previous publishing showed 8 questions. What could be causing Captivate to see more questions than what I have?Thanks,Darin

Hello,I'm reaching out to get help about erroneous review links.  When I go to get a review link or update a link, my projects populate with a review link from another project.  I have tried to delete old links, and they come back anyway.  I've tried signing out, restarting.  Not sure what else to do. 

Hi Captivate community, I would like to remove a white/beige background from my project when it's published, as I wanted a dark colour around my screen.Cannot find a way to change this, even when turning the backgroung colour of my project to full black.Any ideas on how to get rid of this annoying white bg?

Hi,I'm getting continual crashes in Captivate 12.6 when trying to record a new software simulation. Its after I press the End key or click the stop button. Error message "Adobe Captivate - untitled_demo3.cpt" - "An unexpected error has occurred, which may cause Captivate to behave unexpectedly. You can restart Captivate with backed-up project". Crash report below. I can find Temp folder with the file name untitled_demo3.cpt in their title but they are empty.I can record a demo simulation if I am inside an existing project, but get the error if trying to record a new simulation. I'm only selecting for demo at the moment on the new simulation, but I really want to also record training and assessments at the same time. I've tried restarting my machine. And also changed the default Location and Project Cache in Preferences, so that they are within my C:\Users\... folder, as they were originally in a shared folder on our company network. But the outcome hasn't changed. A

Hi,There are three buttons: Shutdown, Track, and Alert.These buttons must be clicked in the correct sequence. Shutdown → Track → AlertIf the Shutdown button is clicked first, it should go to the Partial Success slide. The same applies to the second button, Track. When the third button, Alert, is clicked in the correct order, it should go to the Mission Success slide.If any incorrect button sequence is clicked three times.For example:(Track → Alert → Shutdown) or(Shutdown → Alert → Track) or(Alert → Shutdown → Track)etc the learner should be taken to the Incorrect slide. On the third failed attempt, they should then be directed to the Summary slide.Is it possible to write a trigger actions for this scenario??The correct sequence is:Shutdown → Track → Alert 

After the update to 12.6, my carousel slides are not displaying correctly as per screenshot (company information redacted). I have selected the correct carousel template yet when published the left spacing is removed and the left button covers the text (as highlighted in red). Any suggestions to resolve would be amazing, thank you!

Hi, I am working on a module, and there is a quiz component at the end that users must complete. I am unsure how best to set it up, but these are the requirements. The questions combine a written scenario with a video clip/picture and a question (all are yes/no answers). They need to be graded and have an option at the end to review their answers and the feedback for review before giving the user a chance to retake.  They can take it as many times as needed to obtain a pass, which is more about learning and completing with understanding than anything.  It would also be nice to be able to randomize the order of the questions so not always in the same order for all users. I am unsure how to get both the video/picture on a true/false question side. Initially, I set a slide with the scenario/video and a button to answer questions, which goes to a true/false slide. I know this is not the proper process, or the answer would not necessarily follow the correct que

I am using Captivate 2019. I have a knowledge check matching slide with correct and incorrect captions. The correct caption shows in HTML5 preview, but the incorrect caption does not show up at all - even when I test it before I make any adaptations to the slide. What am I missing?Thanks, Jess

Hi All,I am running Captivate 12.6 and have had all my branding blocks disappear from my project. When I attempt to add them again, the "add header" feature is grayed out, as if the branding blocks I previously added are still there but not visible. Hi all - so I have a quiz slide using Captivate 2019s built in multiple choice. The master slide contains Back Submit and Skip and each have been stylistically edited in the Object Style Manager. We have a few multi choice, T/F and multi answer Knowledge Check slides.  Settings for the Multi choice/Multiple answer are:GradedShuffle AnswersMultiple Answers (when required)Points: 10Numbering: NoneCaptions: Correct, IncompleteButtons: Back, SkipActions - Success Go to next slideInfinite Attempts: yesRetry Message: noFailure Messages: 1We are finding in testing, which I've not come across before, that if we get a question wrong (Incorrect message, please try again), that if we get the answer wrong again, Submit when clicked does nothing. So even with Infinite Attempts we can only get it wrong once. Is this expected behaviour?Quiz Settings: Required - OptionalAllow Backwards movementUnder Pass - Fail - Pass Fail option is set to 80% (but these are just knowledge checks)If Passing

Is anyone else having this issue. I have a Captivate project started and when I go to add the Slide Video from Media Blocks, or if I add Video from Media Blocks, they app crashes.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING.  I JUST UPGRADED TO 12.6 FROM 12.5 AND GETTING SOMETHING WENT WRONG WHILE CONTENT BLOCK INSERTION ON A BUNCH OF SLIDES.  PROJECT IS DUE IN 2 DAYS.  I ALREADY MADE A BUNCH OF CHANGES ON THIS FILE.  BACKUPS ARE DOING THE SAME THING BECAUSE NOW I HAVE 12.6 ON MY MACHINE.  I can't even see what isn't loading. I'll have to go back to my test LMS and see what is missing.   Unbelievable. 

Our team are new to Captivate having extensively used Articulate products for years.I'd love to hear some tips from experienced users on how best to share projects for collaboration with other team members. We're required to use OneDrive for our cloud storage, and it seems rather convoluted to share projects when there are native sharing solutions in Articulate suite of products.Also, given the current IT landscape in the UK where larger organisations are being targeted, our IT teams are not keen on our Stakeholders having to create an Adobe account from a link when receiving a review request. Again, Articulate has a native review tool where no sign in is required. Probably no answer for this but maybe a request for Adobe. 

Hi all.I have a problem with some MC quiz questions. The users can click the Submit-button without choosing one of the answers. I'm sure I have seen some settings to turn this on/off, but am unable to find it. Anyone?

Is anyone having issues now just capturing demos?  Just days ago, I was recording new simulations and it would capture demos with moving screens as normal, and today all of a sudden it no longer seems to be doing so... my settings are as shown below. I can't seem to get slides with the little video camera icon anymore....??? This one I'm showing is from a different file and sharing just for clarity of what I mean.

My colleagues and I have been plugging away on an ongoing project that has spanned over several months. During that time, we have updated to the latest Captivate versions as they have been released. With 12.6, we have run into an issue. We are now unable to open any project or simulation that was created in a previous version (ex. 12.4). This is a huge problem as we plan on continually updating these courses as changes occur within our organization, products, and services. Has anyone else encountered this issue? What is the fix? 

As title. Anyone have any workarounds for hiding or revealing widget blocks in the new Captivate? Not being able to hide them means I may not be able to use them in scrolling projects.

Does anyone know how to get the app menu back for web objects? I have inserted a pdf but don't get the pdf menu inside of the web object. I watched a Paul Wilson video and he has it so I just need to figure out where to tell it to show.  

How do I insert a custom template into the Captivate 12.6 template asset repository?  

Has anyone had any success with uploading Captivate PDF files to slideshare and the like?PDF is a supported format on all of these types of publishing platforms but the PDFs that Captivate creates do not work i.e. the content doesn't play. Works fine in Acrobat reader but not slideshare, scribd, reel or authorstream. I wonder if there's a config option that I'm missing...Thanks

Did some searching in the forum, could not find an answer, sorry if I missed it.  I have a license of Presenter 8 and need to revisit an old project and it is not installed on my latest computer 64 bit Windows 8.1.  Where can I download a full version of the latest version of Presenter 8?  I can only find this page with an update to 8 and full versions of 7: Adobe - Adobe Presenter : For Windows Where is version 8 archived and available for download?
