Captivate

I would dearly love to see Captivate have the ability to customize the Storyboard feature to allow for the Word Document created for the project to have the text that shows up between slides: slide length, timing etc. to be turned off so that just the slide images can be on the Word Doc.  I have to go through the Word Doc. and delete all of this. I realize this is valuable information for large teams that are co authoring an e-learning, but since Captivate is so good about allowing customization of so many things, to be able to not include all that text in a storyboard would be awesome! 

I have an interesting request from a client. They would like the user to enter some data into a TEB on one slide then on the next slide that data pulls through to another TEB as the default text and allows them to edit it. This continues for a few slides as the user continuusly refines their text, each box capturing the edited text as a new variable. Doesn't seem do-able with the default TEB tools but is there a JS solution that would achieve this? Thanks

Hi all,I know this is a common problem, but was wondering if anyone has any permanent fixes for it?I am using Captivate 9. I have a software simulation project, and exporting it to video. This format suits our organisation the most. However, when I publish the video, audio from other slides keep overlapping at the beginning.Things that I have done.made sure there gaps before and after the audio clips in every slide.use WAV audio files.These files have been recorded, cleaned in audition and imported into captivate.Publish settingscustomise preset tickedforce republish ticked Profile: MainLevel 50VBR 1 pass encodingtarget bitrate 9, max bitrate 9 Sometimes these settings have worked, but sometimes they don't. Has anyone got a permanent fix on how to avoid this in the future?Your responses are much appreciated!Adrian

I uploaded Captivate 2019 about two months ago and am taking a Captivate Fundamentals course in Udemy. When I started the chapter on the Assets button in the upper left corner of the screen, an interesting message appeared: Why did this message appear? Which button should I click? And there was no button to close Captivate. I had to use Ctrl/Alt/Delete to close Captivate.

Hi all - I may have a pretty niche question. Within Captivate, is there any way to make a course not revisitable within the Captivate Prime LMS? I have a course that for the life of me I can't figure out how to make it so Captivate Prime doesn't take learners to the beginning of the course after completing the course and then clicking on "Revisit" within the LMS. I have other trainings that when revisited in Prime, the learner is taken to the final slide where there is just a thank you note and an Exit button. But for some reason, I have another training that no matter what settings I change, it always takes the learner to the beginning of the course on revisit. I posted in the Prime community page and never got a response, so I thought I'd try here with a larger audience. Any and all suggestions or brainstorms are appreciated. Captivate 2019 11.5.5Im using the TOC as view only - the navigation is disabled.Showing the hand for the mouse on rollover is deceiving, leading the learner to think it is clickable when it is not.How do I turn off the roll over hand when the TOC is rolled over? 

Hi Community I am using a template that uses a slide counter within the master slide view. The slide counter counts the current slide number and the total slides, and looks like this: $$cpInfoCurrentSlide$$/$$TS$$ The reason I have this sitting within the master slide view, and not simply on each slide, is because this way I can control which slides it actually appears on. Some master views have the counter and others do not. And whether I have it appear or not, it will of course still count all the slides within the project (even those without the counter) in the total slide. I have a question though - and I'm not sure if this can be achieved: Is it possible to exclude some slides altogether from being counted in the 'total slides' $$TS$$ The reason for this, is because I have created 25 pages that all link to another page with clickable links. The reason I did it like this rather than click to reveal, is because of the sheer amount of linked content. How

When I open adobe captivate, the main part of the screen is empty. I can see the film strip, but nothing in the middle section, the area where I actually have to do the work. I'm not sure what's going on. Can someone help? Thanks

I would like the numeric keyboard to come up in IOS devices when using a Captivate multiple choice questions quiz.  Is there a simple way to force this instead of the user having to press the 123 key to get to the numeric keyboard?Would be a life saver if it could be achieved by a technologically challenged person like me.  Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

Hi there community,I was wondering if any of you have information around using a Captivate VR Project with an Oculus Quest 2 headset, or possibly others and how that actually works.I have read up on possibly uploading your game onto the Oculus App but having it be reviewed first before it is uploaded.Is this the only way? Can you not upload just to test it's functionality? Any advice would be great!TIA

Hi, I am a very new user of Captivate, given a project to do with a few others and we are all trying to self learn on the fly. We have a lot of interactivity on the site we need to create. I know Flash has gone away. Our goal we were givenwas to make this site functional with no Flash. We need something similar to the Learning Interactions and Widgets available in the menu however when I go to preview modes they look good and are functional only in the laptop view. I see they have a ".SWF" designation and so I am paranoid they are Flash files? Are Learning Interactions and Widgets things that can be used in sites that need to be fully responsive or are we looking at the worng options? I would assume they are viable to use since they are there in the menu, but they don't look well or function well in preview tests. Thank you.

I would like to set up a subscription to a Training Transcript report so I can get a daily output of any new enrollments and course completions across a certain portion (or all) of the user base.How to do this?  It seems I can only subscribe to 'dashboard' reports, and I cannot work out how to make a Training Transcript report part of a dashboard, even a custom one.All suggestions welcome.Thank you 

Hi,I create a my storyboards on Powerpoint and then import it in to captivate to add interactivity, navigation features, audio, TOC, etc. It works fine when I publish in Standard HTML output. However, I am facing issues when publishing in HTML5 output. Every element that I built in Powerpoint is getting reshaped and distorted, while all the captivate elements stay in-tact. For example; images, text boxes, animation is getting disturbed.Is this a common problem or am I missing something here? Is there a way to fix this issue?Regards,Max

Hi everyone! Has anyone been able to sort out a workaround for Blinking SVGS when you go from one slide to another and also when used as buttons.  I cannot use PNGs, it has to be SVGs only.  And why isnt Adobe updating this bug after 2 years of complaints? Come on Adobe! From a  frustrated Captivate User!

Hi,I published my project as a video and a spinning wheel shows up briefly between each slide. How do I prevent this from happening? The video is 2 min long. On the slides I have either images/test or short video demos (30s max).  Thanks!Mr 

In Captivate 2019, a slide begins with text & images until 5 seconds in timeline. At 6 seconds a video is inserted to the slide to be played when clicked. When we try to add CC to sync with the video's voiceover, the sync just never happens. Even when the markers are placed at exact spots to match the voiceover, when published, the CC is progressively ahead of the voiceover.Anyone experienced this before? Does Captiavate have a fix for this?

I've run into a problem trying to use Advanced Actions to turn on/off closed captions for a custom button I created. I'm using Advanced Actions because I am changing the state of the button (to a custom state).  I did exactly the same thing with a "mute/sound on" button and it works perfectly.  Here's the script to be executed when someone clicks on the button: IfcpCmndCC is equal to 0 ActionsAssign cpCmndCC equal to 1Change state of ClosedCaption to CC_ON ElseAssign cpCmndCC equal to 0Change state of ClosedCaption to Normal Half of the script works fine. The button starts in "Normal" state and when you click it, it changes to the "CC_ON" state and the captions are turned on. But the other part doesn't work.  Once the captions are on and the button is the "CC_ON" state, you can't turn them off, etc.  So apparently the action isn't resetting the cpCmndCC value to 0.Like I said, I did this exact same thing with mute/unmute, and it works p

I changed the tab order on all of my slides, and now my navigation buttons no longer work. I have next/previous page arrows on every page. They no longer appear as buttons (no "hand" appears) and clicking on them doesn't do anything. The same thing happened with the buttons on my table of contents page that link to each module. How can I fix this? TIA

Hrlloi teach students using Adobe Captivate and screen share using Zoom meetings. I then hand over reminding te control to allow my students to drag and drop. However, there are lags and delays and students get frustrated. How can I improve this for my students. The captivate slides are accessed over a website which works really well directly from the site but for security we use screen share. Does anyone know how to improve this

I'm working on a project which contains videos that I need to skip over the intro and outro of when the user plays them in a slide. Due to work/security requirements, the original video file asset is required to have these intro/outro statements to be present, so I can't just edit them out. I have advanced actions set so the video is hidden on the slide of information, you then click a Play button that I have made that shows the video and an X button to hide it again. I've been trying to look through some timing options but they all seem to apply to the slide's timing rather than the video's timing.Is there a way to set start/end times within the video?

Hello!I have an Adobe Captivate activity that is about 5 content slides and then a test. I have it set so the retake Test button shows if they fail. However, if a person fails the activity and closes it, how do they launch it and restart at the test (skip the content slides)? Thank you!

Hi all,I'm using Captivate 2019 on macos and I see that some project files are huge (talking about more than 1GB here). Is there a way to reduce their size?- I have deleted any unused items from the library- I have checked the size of the media files being used, and no way can they explain the huge size So is there any other way to trim these files?Related to this question: I used .cpvc files and then imported these into my project. Is it safe to delete the original .cpvc files to save disk space?
