Captivate

Hello! Due to the discontinuation of Adobe Flash Player, there are certain Media Objects in an ILIAS Learning module that are not accessible anymore. Those Objects (mostly clickable, interactive Pictures) were originally designed in Captivate, exported as SWF and then inserted into the ILIAS learning module.I’ve tried to publish the Captivate project as HTML5 content, however, it is not possible to insert/embed HTML content into ILIAS. Therefore, I decided to create a whole new learning module in captivate but would like to insert the original Media Object/interactive images next to e.g. text. This is roughly what it should look like: I now have several different captivate files (one learning module file and the different interactive images files). What I’ve done so far is trying to export each “interactive image” file as HTML5 content and then inserting them on the corresponding pages of the learning module (via Media: HTML5 animation & Object: Web). Loading.... message appear continously while inserting a HTML animation with extension (.oam and .zip) . It is display only the loading message after insertion. Animation is not visible to us even after a long time and It is also not visible after publishing the capativate file in the HTML5 format. Please check for it and share your experiences

One of my clients has a series of tutorial movies - no user interaction and no SWF features that I know of apart from a widget to play/pause/rewind etc., which is easily removed. Their software is embedded on a PC which may not always have Internet access, so the tutorials need to be accessible in the same way. HTML5 would be ideal as the file sizes for MP4 videos are enormous in comparison. If I use Captivate 2019 to create a movie in HTML5 output then it plays fine in a browser window but there's no control over playing and pausing etc.One answer I think would be to use an HTML5 player application to run the movie on the PC and give the user some control. However, I am told by the software team that the format of the HTML5 files from Captivate is not "standard", but is a custom format of some sort which is not suitable for use with a player. Hey,I have this weird issue I hope someone can help me with.I have a drag and drop interaction which is included in quiz, with a single attempt possible. When the user goes to the next slide after submitting the drag and drop quiz and would then return to the drag and drop slide, the drop sources should be placed on the drop targets where the user placed them. Thusfar everything works and behaves like it's supposed to... When I either move the drag and drop slide to a different position in the film strip, or change the slide after the drag and drop slide to a different slide, Captivate no longer 'remembers' the submitted drop source location when returning to the drag and drop slide. I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 11.5.5.553 release and the issue appears both on OSX and windows. I have the following problem. I have successfully exported a Captivate application that is on an FTP server. It works fine on Windows and Android devices but not on iOS devices. As soon as the application is to be launched on an iOS device, a black screen follows with a play button, but it does not respond when pressed. On an older iPhone, the application could be executed, but the font was completely different and the interactive 360° views (VR) could not be started. What is the suggested file size maximum for Adobe Captivate 2019? Hi everyone, it's great to be back in such a helpful forum. I haven't used Adobe Captivate since version 6 or so. Back then the recommended file size maximum was <50 MB. After 50 MB, weird things would start to happen. This was a general rule that I found in these forums back then that was extremely helpful. Now we are using Adobe Captivate 2019. Can anyone tell me what the recommended file size maximum is for Captivate 2019? Thank you all for your support.

Hallo!Ich hab ein Problem mit dem Untertitel. Meine Folien haben alle eine Sprachausgabe und der Benutzer muss auf 'Weiter' klicken, um zur nächsten Folie zu kommen. Wenn die Folie am Ende ist und bevor der Benutzer weitergeht, wird allerdings der Untertitel ausgeblendet. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit den Untertitel sichtbar zu lassen?Folgendes hab' ich schon versucht:- das Audio mit Stummzeiten verlängert und die Folie vor Ende des Audios angehalten (Die Folie wird angehalten aber das Audio läuft weiter und der Untertitel wird ausgeblendet)- eine zeitlich gesteuerte Pause vor Ende der Folie einzufügen. Dafür hab ich keine Möglichkeit gefunden.Der Benutzer kann auf Pause klicken und der Untertitel bleibt sichtbar. Da er allerdings nicht weiß, wann die Folie zu Ende ist, ist das eher eine schwache Lösung.Hat da vielleicht jemand eine Idee?Schöne Grüße!

Hi All, I've had an issue with a super simple page-turner Captivate 2019 project not registering completion in the Federal Aviation Administration's eLMS (SuccessFactors) platform. (Keep in mind they still recommend using IE for learners....just a tad bit behind, haha) Works perfectly on SCORM cloud (of course) but we've tried just about ever combination of percent/slides completed setting and assign a quiz passed trigger on a button suggestion....all with no luck in their eLMS system using SCORM 1.2 or even AICC. I can send the source file if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have built a simulation in Captivate 9 and once I have the user click advance to next slide slide to start the simulation portion, it advances to the new screen for 0.25 seconds before returning to the pervious slide. This is only happening for one coworker in Google Chrome but it plays fine for 7 other people. We all have the same version of Chrome. The simulation slide that is skipping back to the original has two text entry boxes with no actions attached to them and one click box for the user to click and advance to the next slide. Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting? I am running out of things to test and try.

Presenter tab no longer shows in the PPT. Tried every fix listed on adobe and still will not show in the PPT.we are running win 10 with office 2016 plus and yes we know that presenter 11 was not supported on this office version but has been working until recently. Any ideas?

I am looking to create an eLearning using characters in the same illustrated style as Sarah and Brady but I can't seem to find that style anywhere.  Does anyone know where I can get them?  I checked eLearning Brothers but I couldn't even find Sarah and Brady and their illustrations are very basic.  Any help would be appreciated!

Do I only need a Captivate license to develop elearning assets?  Or do the people that use the assets that I developed also need a Captivate license?

Can I play Captivate files on my site?

So I started a project on Mac (Capitivate 2019). I now need to continue edeting and finish the project on a PC. The project will not open. Can I not switch platforms on the middle of a project?  Thank you. 

I have a created a fairly simple e learning course. Latest version of Captivate.  Working on a PC.  Me and my colleagues are truly stumped.  And that fact that they are stumped is really amazing considering that they have many years of CP experience. The project has 28 slides.  Slide 6 offers branching options.  That all worked fine.  My boss suggested we have return branching buttons at the end so that the learners could view the other branch they did not originally choose without having to start the course over.  So I put these return branching buttons at the end of their respective branches with "jump to slide" set to take the learner to the other branch if they wanted to go there.  That worked fine.  My boss said to move these buttons to the penultimate slide in the course just to simplify the course.  After I copied and pasted them to that slide they no longer worked. I can assign other actions to them to test like "Exit" and

Hi. I've got a problem with the accessibility of my project. When clicking on my smartform used as a button it changes status indicating that it has been clicked. Is there a way to tell screen readers too, that status has changed (by changing ARIA description or something like that).

I'm making an interactive video. When I press the button, it jumps to the specified bookmark, but it plays to the end. I want to specify the range like playback from bookmark 1 to bookmark 2 by pressing the button. Is it possible?

Dear all, My project is the following, I have 60 questions and I would like to create 2 quizzes in one project, and the choice of the quiz by the learner has to be random.  - For each quiz; a group of 30 questions and when the learner takes the quiz, he/she will have only 20 question randomly to answer. (This is something that I can handle in Captivate) - And I would like to present one of the 2 quizzes to the learner randomly for the 1st time through a navigation button (Assessment), and after that, each time that this learner is back to the course and retake the quiz, he/she will have always the same quiz that he/she has chosen at the 1st time. Can some one help me to realize this project please ?Thanks for your help,Karim
