Captivate

I published a software simulation to computer for SCORM.  In Blackboard, the published simulation fails and displays a web page, "...flashplayer/end-of-life.html"  I opened the zip file and deleted the .swf file and also edited the manifest.xml to remove all reference to .swf and/or Flash. Re-zipped the file and uploaded again.  This did NOT solve the problem.  In short, I cannot get the published content to work in Blackboard, although it does work flawlessly in SCORM cloud preview. 

Adobe Captive had a recent outage starting March 9th, 2021 and ever since that original issue we have had consistent video errors on newly published courses. We have been able to recreate these issues over and over when testing within chrome on PC and MAC. We have tested on more than 7 different computers on different networks and in different locations. We have tested various different videos, different frame rates, and video codec do not seem to be a factor. We have tried testing multiple videos in a blank project making sure it wasn't a template issue. The issues happen on slides with and without slide audio. When these video errors occur the entire course and timeline break, it some cases can be temporarily fixed with a refresh but that is NOT good enough. 

I'm a new captivate user. My project consist of importing pptx slides (company source materials) into captivate and working on them to create an elearning. I'm trying to create some form of forced navigation with a menu page (made from a blank ppt slide with objects used as buttons). Button actions are to execute a shared action.  My issue is when I preview the project in captivate it works fine. But when I preview on html5 in browser, this menu page with my objects as button becomes a blank white page. The playbar which is set to be shown also disappears. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.  Appreciate if anyone can provide some guidance. Tom

Hello everyone.I wanted to do a virtual reality project using my own photography and my own videos. I have taken a 360 degree photo using Photoshop's 3D tool, but using it in Captivate the image is blurry. What are the image and video requirements for use in VR projects in Captivate?I appreciate this help in advance.

When I click Manage, Import, or other things in the ribbon, I get this error message.  First of all, this presentation has no narration in it yet.Secondly, there is no one else signed into it but me.Thirdly, I did try saving to a new location. No go.I cannot move forward until I get this resolved. No phone tech support available.Thoughts?

I've got a problem with the accessibility in my quiz. It contains severeal multiple choice questions. The customer needs a fully accessible and SCORM compatible version but I don't see a way to change the different checkboxes showing the focus. Has anybody an idea?

I have had this issue in the past, but here recently it has been more consistent.  I will be working in a project and will get a fatal error message, this last time it had to do with importing an asset.  Captivate wouldn't close though so I had to go to Task Manager and shut it down.   When I reopened the project I could tell it was corrupt because the text in the main window pane was not appearing even though it is visible in the filmstrip.  I am unable to preview or publish the file.  This is the second time I have had this problem with the particular project and have had to recreate it.  Can someone please let me know if this is a common issue and if there is any fix?

Hello world! 🙂I would like my content to be scalable when viewed with a small laptop screen, tablet, or smartphone, but the size should be fixed if the screen size is 1280 pixels or larger. But when publishing there´s only two options - all and everytime scaling or always stay in fixed size.I´ve checked the differences between an scalable and a non-scalable output, and the only difference I´v found was in the CPM.js:project:{ ..... shc:false or trueI´ve found an old thread with a similar problem, but the solution does not work (Captivate 8 scalable content max height/width )Does anyone of you know how to do this with Captivate 2017??HTML5standard project (non-responsive)no fluid boxes

We inserted a video in a slide and disabled the playbar, so the learner cannot fast forward.  Is there a way to show how much time is left to play in the video? Captivate 2019

Hello everyone. I am new to using Captivate and font design in general. I'm beginning to think I probably just should've used a different font to begin with but want to see if there is a workaround, fix, or just an explanation to my issue. When I use the Cambria font, it does not center when used in a text caption or text button. In the screenshot I'll attach, I use Calibri fonts on the left and Cambria ones on the right. All are set centered horizontaly and vertially, but the Cambria regular styleones do not center vertically. This issued has annoyed with this font but since I have already published some courses with Cambria, I want to know if there is a way to fix this. Any help is appreciated! 

I created a captivate project with TOC and the Status Flag of the TOC enabled. As I progress through the SCORM each page is marked as complete when visited however that status is not retained when the SCORM is closed and then reopened. Students can navigate freely once they visit all pages but once the SCORM is closed they have to start over even though it is showing as complete in LMS.

Hello. I want to include in my Captivte project a pdf file, with scorm output in our LMS. On desktop it works correctly but on mobile it does not load the file. However the pdf file in the LMS as a file (not scorm) if it loads. Someone has had the same difficulty. Thanks

Hello,I am working in Adobe Captive 9 and I am very new to Advanced Actions.I have 2 quizzes in 1 project. Each quiz has 10 questions/slides with a total of 20 questions.I am trying to disable the Set 2 button on start (Slide 1), so the user is forced to click on the Set 1 button. If the user fails, the user clicks on another button in the Results Slide to take them back to Slide 1 to take the second quiz.I want the Set 2 button to be enabled so the user can click on the Set 2 button and jump to Slide 12 to start the second quiz.I can disable the Set 2 button, but I cannot get it to enable after the user has jumped back to Slide 1. If I can get it to enable after jumping back to Slide 1, I am not sure how to make the user jump to Slide 12 to start the second quiz.This is what I have in my Advanced Action to disable the button. I know I am missing additional stuff.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Andre

Hi all! The project I'm working on has voiceover audio on most slides. Currently, I have the "Continue" button to go to the next slide not appear until the audio is finished for that slide (using the timeline for timing). I'm curious about the best way to have the Continue button appear instantly if a learner goes back to a slide they've already viewed (so they don't have to listen to the full voiceover for that slide if they don't want to again). Thank you!Charley

Hi, I have a play button programmed to play a regular video on Slide 52. Slide 49 has an interactive video. Why, when I hit my play button on Slide 52, does not only the video play, but I also hear the audio from the interactive video on slide 49? I'm using Captivate 2019. Thanks!

I am trying to display the elapsed time / total time on my published Captivate tutorial and can't figure out how to do it. Like you see on a YouTube video, for example 1:31 / 5:30. I checked the skin editor and don't see it there. I checked the list of variables, and only see an elapsed time in milliseconds. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you!

I want to change the properties of a slide for example change the bullet options from 1. Title to Title. When I choose the droop down list to adjust the text the list does not appear.  On other lists for example adding a shape, the shape options/ list appears behind the main window but not on the main screen.  What am I missing?

Lors des tests recette, on observe une instabilité de l'information transmise au LMS : l'état de progression ne remonte pas correctement.Parfois, la progression est signalée comme complète, parfois elle reste en incomplète malgré le visionnage de toutes les diapositives.Pouvez-vous me renseigner sur ce sujet ? Existe-t-il une solution de contournement pour être certain que le statut soit complet lors du visionnage de la dernière "slide"? Merci pour votre aide,Laura 

Greetings, Many of our users are experiencing latency with quiz slides when the "branch aware" setting is enabled within the quiz preferences for a course. Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Thank you in advance for your help!Beth

First off, I am running the latest update of Captivate AND Windows, I checked. My computer also runs Adobe CC programs without any problems. I always close all other programs while running captivate. That being said, Captivate is still crashing when I visit the assets panel (although I CAN save now--a big improvement over last week). Additionally, there is several seconds lag time in placing anything into the workspace ( buttons from the drop down menu, text caption boxes,etc.). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
