Captivate

Hi I am currently editing some old Captivate training files which were screen-capture simulations-type training.I have to add new slides of screen recording into an old project, where the screen have changed in some places.This used to work - I would click 'Record a New>Software Simulation' and then record the new slides which would be created in a new project on another tab. Then I would go into that project tab, copy the new slides and bring them into my old project.Now when I do this I get a mostly blank slide, with a few strange oblongs of background, and the interactions haven't copied across. In general I find with Captivate, it saves some of the information about the slide to a completely inaccessible place - it's not a background, it's not an image, so you can't find it in the Libary, it's just some random oblongs which it has decided to save somewhere in between everything and it will decide whether or not it wants to show them.Could someone recommend a tip for ju

Hi all;  My colleauge and I previously made a project for work (simulation) which is to quiz but also teach in case of failure and users need to take another attempt. It worked perfectly as it is supposed to. I made another last week with the exact same settings and I'm almost positive it that *worked* before I saved it away and now doesn't work. The project refuses to pause, and I can't figure out why. I'm hoping someone here can help.  The slide has the screen shot, instructions (top right) a click box (top left)(with no displayed captions as I removed them), an arrow (top left), a text box with feedback (bottom) and an image used as a button to continue (check mark lower right) once the user has read the instruction:  On enter, there's an executed advanced action (hide_All), which hides the arrow, the correction box and the green check mark button. The user has a single attempt to click the box correctly and on success the project goes to the next slide

Hi all ,I'm currently using the Captivate 2019 subscription, I need help with the following issue.Before the Google chrome 88 update (released on February 17/2021), xAPI contents with video slides created recently in Captivate 2019 (using fluid boxes and published as HTML5 zip file into an LMS) could be viewed in Android devices in full screen (i.e browser address bar is not visible ) in landscape mode , using the "desktop site" option of Google Chrome app .After the Chrome 88 update, I'm no longer able to get a full screen experience for the same content ,since the address bar of the browser stays there itself . In addition to this ,there is an additional bottom tab that is being introduced in the update which takes up even more space from the bottom of the screen .As a result of this update ,the mobile device user experience for my Captivate responsive projects is completely ruined. As of today ,I am getting full screen experience for Captivate 2019 based content even on older C

I'm using the free trial of Captivate before decide to get it, but I cannot see the work area; every time I click on the work area (Slides) everything disappear. What I'm doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I have a 70+ slide course that has quite a bit of video. I am publishing as scaleable HTML5. I see there is a preloader option, but can this apply to html5? I want to preload media assets before the user gets too far along in the course. Is this possible? Or is this an option for swfs only? Thanks in advance for your help, I am using Captivate2019.  

HelloI have problem while exporting adobe captivate file into scorm 1.2 and 2004. During the process it crashes. Do you know mayby the solution while it is crashes? Thank you for reply. 

Could Adobe provide a pre-made tutorial type slide that could be added at the beginning of presentations, for phone users, that demonstrates the navigation methods specifically? I am using Adobe Captivate for structured elearning lectures for a course that is being held asynchronously (I post material, students view material, student complete assignments, I mark assignments).That being said, I am receiving a few questions from students about navigation using their phone. The first slide of any presentation shows a small icon at the top right hand of the screen but if they choose not to click this icon, they do not know how to navigate. Obviously for this semester I was able to show them by making a Video Demo and adding the play bar as an overlay to the slide and posted this picture of phone navigation to their LMS. If not I'm sure I can just post my video demo each semester without much of a problem.

Porém eu tenho que envia-lo no formato scorm 1.2. Queria saber se o Captivate consegue transformar arquivos de mídia em geral (mp4, wmv, entre outros), arquivos com extensão pptx, pdf, docx, xlsx, para o formato scorm 1.2?

Hi all!I am new here. Please explain this to someone technology challenged. I have made my first non-responsive project in adobe captivate. I try to publish it for review and I don't understand the output files at all. I tried to "print handouts" and they come out tiny and I cannot sustainably resize every single slide for all the presentations I need to make in this program. I thought this would make things easier than power point and I am invested now after trying so hard to learn this software. Please help me!

Hi, I have a diagram, let's call it a map of some roads.  I want to have a slide in Captivate that shows the road map, and then highlights different routes as the slide plays. I tried Shapes, with long, thin rectangles overlaying the roads, grouped together, but I feel like there must be a better way.

How does one get the plugin for text-to-speech for Adobe Captivate 2017 version?

Hi, I'm new to creating software simulations and using Captivate 2019. When I publish my simulation as html and then attempt to upload the zip file to my LMS (I'm using iSpringLearn), I get an error saying it is not a valid SCORM package. I thought everything published by Captivate would be SCORM-compliant. Is there something else I need to do to my html files?

I am using Captivate 2019. I make a simulation, add my audio files and I need to turn it into an MP4. I need to add Closed Captions to this project. I need them to be able to be turned on and off inside of the MP4. I know how to add closed captions before I turn it into the MP4 but I dont know how to make them function once it is an MP4

Hey everyone. I have an issue where changing the UseWidget7 from 0 to 1 in the AdobeCaptivate.ini file breaks the functionality of my dropdown menu learning interaction. The dropdown menu appears on the screen but I cannot interact with it. If I change UseWidget7 back to 0 (false) it works again.Does anyone know if there's a known conflict with this or if there is a hack around this? Thank you in advance!

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me. I have mp3 files in my project. They played fine at first, but now I don't hear them, and when I try to preview in the library, Captivate crashes. I tried to delete them and start again, but again, if I touch one in the library, crash! I tried deleting all instances of the audio files, then go the "select unused items" in the library to delete, but they don't get selected, and thus I can't delete. It's like that audio folder in the library is frozen. My video files play just fine. It's just the audio files. Sigh. Thanks!

What is the benefit to signing in with admin privileges when using Captivate??  I've had admin privileges for years but recent changes at our company's IT department has them denying me admin privileges. TIA,Susan

Hi!When I import languages the text doesn´t completely update in the text buttons Caption field, it does update in the Normal (Default) state but not in the RollOver or Down states.How do I fix this, do I really have to look through and manually correct every button in each language? There´s 30 languages with 177 slides each, not all have text buttons but you get my drift, it´ll be a lot of hours the customer won´t pay for... 😕😕BR

I tried adding a skin that will show a playbar at the bottom of the screen, but it does not work. There are only buttons to mute the video or to close the tab. My project was created from a PowerPoint presentation. Each of my slides consists of 99% inserted video, with the last 1% of playtime dedicated to the underlying PowerPoint slide. How can I get a playbar at the bottom of the screen so that the user/learner may scrub through the video forward and backward?

I've been a Captivate user for years (since v4) and created fairly complex training but have primarily used professional talent for our audio (recorded in a studio and importing the audio files). I just recently started using the Text to Speech function in Captivate (v2019 11.5.4.613) and every once in a while, the software will read an apostrophe as "registered trademark" rather than ignoring it. Sometimes I can just re-type the character and everything is fine, but no always. Has anyone else experienced this and how do you fix it?

We are creating Test Your Knowledge questions in our modules. These are not scored, reported, tallied, or kept track of. They are placed every 10 slides or so to give the student an idea of what they are retaining. What I want is to display a custom message for success or failure. The message displays the correct answer as it appears in the module. I can accomplish this with no issues. My problem is with moving to the next page. As of right now, I am extending the slide duration to 10 seconds before it continues to the next page. This can be too long in some cases and too short in others (depends on the answer).  Is there a way to be able to add a "click anywhere", or "click Y", function through advanced actions? If I add the "Next" button it allows the student to skip the question, which we do not want to allow. We are not using the default message as they are ugly and as far as I can tell, cannot be customized for each page. If they can that might solve my issue. &nbsp

I am doing a technical presentation which is requiring me to add several words/symbols into the dictionary that is not getting pronounced correctly or pronounced at all.  Each time I open the dictionary to add a new word, it seems to be replicating the entire dictionary.   So now when I convert text to speech it is taking longer than 3 minutes to do it (yes I timed it).   I am telling it to save file and replace file.  When I go into the CSV file to open it, this is the message I get:  So now I have almost 300,000 rows in my dictionary even though I may have only added around 50 words.   How do I clean this up so that it does not take so long to generate my text to speech and how do I get it to stop duplicating?  I  have captivate 11.5.5.676.  

Afternoon I am having difficulty in uploading a biteable to captivate. I have upoaded it but the biteable is way too big.   This is what biteable have advised our Biteable video's dimensions are 1080 × 1350 (in its current aspect ratio), and it looks like the canvas area in Captivate is set to 320 × 200. I assume that's why you're only seeing a small section of the video.Any help appreciated

I'm kinda stuck on why my slide-audio doesn't play on one of my slides. It works fine in all other slides and I am not sure what I'm missing. I attached a screenshot of my timeline, maybe there is something that I don't see here that's causing this? Slide-audio doesn't seem to be affected by a button pausing the slide, so that shouldn't be causing any issues, and even if it would it should play the audio for the first couple seconds. 

Hi, I have adobe captivate 2019 trail version. I want to purchase if it is good. But i found few things while taking trainings and issues are, 1) Mouse Movement is not showing while checking preview  2) Preview is automatically stopping after 5 th side and the reamining slide want to see it click play button again. 3)Default Text caption is not automaticaly happening while taking training.. 4) how to set mosuse setting as project wise for all slides before taking taining.
