Hi all, I am new to Adobe Captivate and the E-Learning world in general. I am inserting a video that I would like to require a user to watch the entire video before marking complete. My LMS implementation team is telling me this setting must be done within Captivate. Can anyone help me get my problem resolved?
In my Captivate project, once I have published, there is the appearance of the items before they then appear within their animations on the slide. The item will briefly appear for a split second and then it will fade in or do whatever the animation that I have set up for it. What causes this and are there any known bugs and solutions?
After the exam is completed in my captivate 2019 it takes you to an Exam Results Page. There are two options on the page to Continue or Review Exam. Right now the continue always just takes you to the next page which says congratulations and you can print a certificate from that page. I instead would like the continue to act in two different ways to take you to the beginning of the module if you dont pass the exam or if you do pass to take you to the congratulations slide. Please help how can I fix this
I'm creating a responsive project with an extended slide height of 1550 px and I would like to add a page down button that will scroll the page down to 760px. I've done somthing similar on a webpage that I maintain via Wix (volunteer work, not professional) where I added anchors so that the button will go to the anchor of the webpage. My initial thought, was to add a java script to the button, but when I tested it, it actually brings me back to the top of the page, which is opposite of what I want it to do. Below is the script that I added. window.scrollTo({ top: 760, behavior: 'smooth' }) Can I do something similar to what I've done on a webpage in Captivate? Does anyone have tips on how to easily add a page down button to the extended slide. I'm a novice in Captivate, so I need to try to keep this relatively simple. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
We have tried a number of different ways of producing the wording and allow plenty of time for each paragraph, but Captivate is still missing out words at the end of sentences. We have been working with the Adobe team since December and tried all the suggestions below but still not resolved. Any new suggestions welcome?? 🙂Play Modules in Google ChromeBalabolka voice testNeo Speech voice testUpdated to latest version 11.5.5Cleaned Program Preferences - Cleanpreferenceswin.bat file.Preloader set to 100%Removed Project.txt file before we upload module to elearning platform
I am using Captivate 2019 and I am trying to publish my captivate project as a video, but I am getting "SWF compilation failed" error everytime.I tried updating captivate but got error (code 131) in that too.Can anyone help me with this?
HiI am creating eLearning which will be interactive allowing the user to move through by entering text. I have used text entry boxes to achieve this and also have separate state views to give additional information in a roll over effect. This is all working great until I preview in HTML5, I am trying to make sure everything works in HTML as the world is moving away from Flash and so are we. This is just one of many issues discovered when previewing in HTML but this is the only one I can't find a work around for.Issue:When running the HTML5 preview the text entry box appears over the top of the roll over information even though it is below on the timeline. When previewed in Captivate it works fine but HTML does not like it. I've tried giving the text entry box an Opacity of zero as a solution but I end up with a white box instead! Please can anyone help? I find there is very little information in the Google world around the Captivate assets that don't work in HTML and find it
I have the following settings in a SCORM:Would disabling the Progress bar ( so that a user cannot fast forward through a course) cause an issue with a LMS using Moodle?
Hello,I have created a project where I saved the simulation as a video. I inserted the video into a slide. I went to "Edit Video Timing" to add the closed captions. The captions appear except at the beginning. I have checked to settings over and over. I have re-done this portion over and over and I still cannot get the closed caption to show at the beginning. Again the closed captions show all the remainder of the video just not at the beginning. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
Does anyone have a good practice or procedures when developing multilingual courses that are 508 compliant in Captivate? Specifically, how would you handle converting the text, audio, and closed captioning to a new language, assuming we want 1 SCORM package? How would you manage the language selection? Can it be done from the LMS, or do you create a menu page that passes a variable based on the learner's selected language?
Hi, I hope someone can help me.We have Captivate modules that work fine when published to SWF on our SCORM-compliant LMS. When we publish these modules as HTML5, we experience the following problem:Each module exits and is shown as complete on the LMS. When we launch the module again for a new attempt we are presented with the resume message (this shouldn’t appear on a new attempt). We click ok and it takes us back to the last page of the module, so something isn’t closing the attempt properly. Also we found that if we click ok on this message, after the above occurs, the course never completes, despite the ToC showing as complete. This occurs in all browsers. Thanks, Steve
I have a text entry box placed on the screen. The learner should type the text and then click the associated image button to move to the next page. It works perfect when I preview in the browser and in the published PDF file. However, it's not working in the published index.html file or when I upload to the LMS.
Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with my SCORM 1.2 package. The problem arises when the user spends time within the player, the content will start off loading and playing the content fine. However, after the user has navigated 60-70% of the slides, Captivate will start to load the next slide (it will show the loading screen) and, after a little bit longer, it will fail to load all the content on the slide. This leads to strange issues, anything from failing to load an image on the slide, to just simply not being able to load the slide at all. Refreshing the content and resuming from where you left off fixes the problem, however, it will not remember the state of some images that are vital to progressing the course. I've tried checking and unchecking "self-paced learning" to see if this could be causing the issue, no luck. I've tried reducing the data sent to the LMS/Server to reduce the strain on it, but it doesn't seem to have any impact. Any help wou
I am using Mac (Big Sur) and Captivate 2019 (11.5.5.676). Whenever I start Captivate - the stage is not visible in the live preview area. I have a big black void. I need to zoom out, locate the stage, drag it to the center and zoom back in. Even with that, whenever I click on the stage, and it disappears again. It is totally unusable.I have deleted the preferences and such, to no avail. Adobe help chat doesn't seem to be working today. Any ideas?
Hello, Is there a feature in captivate or code that can be integrated that enables the resizing of text without using the browser to do it?
I have an image on my 1st page of my purchased template. The image is a large white shape. If I click fit to Bounding Box it fits the space it is designed for perfectly. If I deselect the fit to Bounding Box the shape is too small for the space. The problem is when we publish this project this whie shape looks too small for the space even though it looks perfect in the film strip view. Any ideas how I can fix this?
Greetings All.If I try to place an image and "Use as Buton" and try to preview or publish I get this: The publishing settings look like this Publish as: HTM5/SWF and then an apparent option at the bottom to select one or the other or both. What's really weird is another project I did about a month ago has these settings: Publish to HTML5 only. No mention of SWF. What gives? Thanks and gratitude to anybody who can help.
When I am using matching questions column 2 letters a) b) c) all seem to be higher than the answer/words that follow and are in the same text box. I tried to justify them to the bottom of the text box and that looks different but when we preview in HTML5 the letters a) b) c) are all still higher than the words.
Hello. We have a number of .cptx files from Captivate 2019 published to Adobe Connect and I also need to publish them to mp4 now. I followed the steps on the support site/user guide, but all of my published mp4s save down as 0 bytes and can't be played. I've tested the custom presets and Captivate claims they work. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Am I just not giving them enough time to process? The first video I "published" about 25 minutes ago and it still says 0 bytes.
Hi thereWithout much knowledge of the technical terms of Captivate, I've struggled to find any relevant posts on this - apologies if this has been covered before in some detail (and I'm sure it has)I've been getting to grips with Captivate 4 and have recorded simple software simulations of a powerpoint activity for a training video. On one of the slides that I have created, I only want the first few seconds or 'frames' of an animation as a 'still image' which I can add captions and audio to - basically I don't need the rest of the animation that Captivate created for that slide (which is a mouse cursor expanding the notes pane in powerpoint). Obivously I can't delete the slide itself. Is there a way to see the animation Captivate has created as frames, so that I can split the video and / or delete any animated frames I don't want? I've used timelines in iMovie and Final cut express (Mac movie editing programmes) and found it very easy to do so. I'm sure Captivate will be far richer
Hi! I'm using Captivate 9 and the add link button is missing. I read a similar question to this one, but the person was able to solve the problem by closing and re-opening Captivate. I did that and it didn't work. So currently I don't have an add link button. Do you have any idea how can I get it back?
I have found out how to mute the dialog asking for name and email id, but how can I disable the box:Or change the words / title? but disable would be preferable.Thanks-James
Hi I've been working on creating a course and am getting pretty close to finishing it but have one real showstopper that I'm struggling to find an answer for. Results for the course go to a local server, and the email address and name are passed in as variables so the user doesn't see a popup for those, however they continue to see the 'Results posted successfully' popup, which looks awful and isn't needed. Does anybody know how to get rid of this? I found a thread detailing how to edit it, but that won't helpThanks
Hello. I want to know /report on when a user chooses an accept or decline button, ie "do you agree to abide with this policy?" The LMS will manage normal quiz results, but this is a compliance issue. any ideas? thanks
