Captivate

I am using captivate 2019. In the project I have a text entry box with 1 attempt. Correct action is set to jump to the next slide. On failure it is set to conitnue. Then some other things happen on the timeline and another text entry box appears. This sescond text entry box is not pausing the timeline. When I preview in HTML5 it just plays through the timeline. When I click preview project from this slide it works as expected. When I publish using html 5 as a scorm zip file and load to our LMS it does not work. Are there any known issues?  

Any recommendations for SCORM reporting configuration on captivate 2019 to allow learners access the module again for unlimited attempts to review the content if they need as i tried another SCORM file developed using articulate and working successfully with the LMS and allow me control learner access to the module again 

Hi, myself and my colleage both use captivate to publish and change project material etc. Both use 2019, one windows edition one mac edition. We have worked together both successfully publishing projects(html5) as and when up until now. We can still share projects and change things no problem. However on the mac version (this has been updated with the most recent update) when the project is published it has lost the ability to post data via a javascript event.  The windows version (not updated) when publishing the same project works as expected.  Can you help us track down what is causing this?Basic synopsis below..We pass variables into our captivate project via the index  pageThe variables are used within the end slide on enter action - javascript to post the passed in variables back out.We then refresh the parent window via a button javascript action. As I said everything still works fine while publishing on the un-updated version thanksAngela

Good Afternoon,I was troubleshooting a particular issue with a customer. Basically we downloaded and logged onto Captivate, but when we try to open a project (template), it will freeze at 30% and prompt with the "not responding". The templates are saved from a sharepoint and his colleagues are able to access any template/project workbook. We tried multiple workbooks without success. I had him log onto a different device, and the issue is following him on the other workstation as well.Device OS: Win 10Any feedback is appreciated.

We are having an issue that when users complete a training in our LMS, the pass/completed results are not being reported to the LMS, so they cannot print a certificate.  The LMS we are using is TRAIN, powered by the Public Health Foundation (PHF). To complete the training, the user must pass the exam with an 80% or higher.  The results I am seeing after a user completes shows the course was Completed and notes their score, but the system is saying on the backend that the status is "Failed."   The course settings are:  Status Representation: Incomplete--> Passed/Failed; Success/Completion Criteria:  Slided views and/or quiz (Quiz is passed) Would changing to Incomplete-->Complete and keeping Quiz is passed make a difference? We have been round and round with the helpdesk for TRAIN, and they insist that it is something with the SCORM file, so I am at a loss at this point.  What makes it even more confusing is that this doesn't

Hello All, I am new to Captivate, I am using Captivate 2019. I am using fluid boxes. I am creating a drag and drop action and have created in such a way that there is no need to submit, only correct answeres will be accepted. However, once the correct answer is dropped to the right targer, I dont want them to be re-draggable. it works correctly on laptop but on mobile the drag objects can still be moved even after the correct selection. How can I fix this? It jumbles up behaviour of my course..Thank you!! 🙂

I want to cancel my Captivate trial but I can't see it anywhere on my account to allow me to cancel it and I can only get the virtual assistant. How can I contact someone to get help 

Hi, I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 for screen capture. In some screens, the software records the actions as an FMR slide. When I publish the file (in the recorded size) it runs fine. But when I rescale the project from Modify--> Rescale Project as per my requirement, the recorded FMR slides shrink width-wise. Do you have any idea why my software is behaving like this? Is it a software bug, or is there anything that I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I recently unistall and install again Captivate and since then I haven't been able to record any typing action during the software simulation.I already checked settings/permissions both in Captivate and Mac, everything looks fine. Is there any other place I should check to find the problem? Thanks!

We are creating quiz in Adobe captivate (tutorial slides and quiz questions and publishing to computer. we then are importing into Knowbe4 compliance system as scorm project. When test is concluded by a user they see the quiz results but have no way to print or save to history in KnowBe4 system for future reference. (See below attached sample)If the test taker passes or fails we need a report. the way it works now, if they pass , the system issues a certificate of completion. if they fail it just closes.I am hoping someone can assist with how to get the actual scores so our HR department can retain in users profile folder.Thank you   

According to Adobe, it is possible for me to upload CP to sharepoint. Based on this article , I've already got my IT department to allow .json files. However I am still unable to view my index.html file or link it to my sharepoint webpage. Any idea how to make this work?

I just put my first responsive site online, using Captivate 2019, and would like suggestions to make it more efficient, to decrease problems that arise from older phones, weak signals on phones, or something similar. To help focus any suggestions, here are some characteristics of my responsive site. It has 37 slides and all have a picture, sometimes the same picture.The largest picture is 208kb. The average size is half that.I use JavaScript more than advanced actions.There are 2 external JavaScript files. I minified the largest, so it’s now 1.5kb.In an attempt to make my site more efficient, I also minified the largest JavaScript file that Captivate creates when the site is published. That file is CP.js. Before minifying, the file was 2.9mb. Captivate 9- I have a one hour video that will be put into our LMS and be Scorm compliant.I want to be able to allow the user to leave the LMS,and start viewing the video where they left when they return.I tried having an introduction slide, followed by a video spread out across multiple slides. I have it so each slide is numbered. One thing I am having trouble changing is the timing of each slide. For some reason I can only change the timing on every slide except for the last one which is really long?? If I have a 60 minute video (3600 seconds) and divide that across 30 slides, that should equal 2 minutes per slide. For some reason I can only change the first 29 slides to 120 seconds, and the last slide is is saying 3977 which i'm guessing is the total duration?I got the idea above from watching this video- http://vivaelearning.com/adobe-captivate-tutorial-add-scorm-bookmarks-embedded-videos/but he didn't visualize how to change the timing of every slide at the end

I am wrting an Advanced Action to check the value of  TEB variable. It is kicked off using Auto Submit but it is failing. I've traced it to the TEB variable has not been updated with the last character when the check is performed. For instance, if Auto Submit is used with a Max Length of 2 and I enter "AB", the variable only contains "A" when the "On Success" Advanced Action is kicked off. Is there a way to force the variable to record all characters entered before executing the advanced action? Hi,Captivate 9 (approved to update to 2019 soon!). I have been working on a project with multiple interactive exercises (seperate captivate project files). Each one start with a textual question/instructions for the user to execute through a simulated version of an application. Click boxes are used as the correct place to advance and report incorrect/correct responses. We give the user the opporunity to revisit the question at any time. This is used with two shared advanced actions. One to pause the slide and open the exercise text object, and another to close the exercise text and proceed the slide. This is working but seems like there should be aby easier way. In my effort, I found that the object to show (and hide) needs to be on the slide where it is being called to show or hide. I thought there has to be away to use the same object from another slide on all of my shared advanced actions would allow that. After all, when I set up the shared action on each slide, I can see the

Both panels are checked to display under the Window menu, but I can't see anything. There's just a scroll bar to the right of the main slide panel which scrolls down to an empty space where the Slide Notes should be. I reset the classic workspace and all of my options. I checked for Cp updates and restarted the program. I tried starting a new project rather than my existing project. I've never experienced this in 10 years of using Cp. Any ideas how to fix this? I wanted to create a simple interface that changes colour constantly. When the user sees a face between colours I want them to hit any key. At the end I want to display how many images of a face were displayed and how many times they hit a key. Has anyone tried somthing like that before and got any tips or tricks on how to tackle this on Captivate 2019 (mac)Thanks in advance for any thoughts!Andy

Is it possible to open a .cptx file from SharePoint online and it open the file in Captivate?

Captivate 2019 Line Properties panel is missing all of a sudden.  I'd like to change line color and thickness but all that shows up in the properties panel is shadow Shadow and Refelection options.  I tried clearing cache and restarting the system to no avail? What the Sam Hill is going on? addendum:  the properties panel is randomly disappearing on other shapes too. 

Using Captivate 2019 update #5.I'm getting a fatal error when copying a slide from one session to another.  This is a last ditch effort trying to solve another problem/bug where the Properties panel has disappeared and the suggested fixes have not worked.  I have wasted an hour on this problem so far.  Anyway, suggestions for fixes are appreciated.  

I am trying to open an Adobe Captivate 2019 file which I have saved, re-opened and edited multiple times previously without issues, but today I get the error message: "The file exceeds the limit allowed and cannot be saved." This prevents me from opening the file. I need to make some adjustments and republish it. The file is 82458 KB.  How to resolve this issue so I can open the file? 

Hi there !  I have a problem importing SVG files. They are in my timeline but i'm not able to see them ! They don't appear on my slide ! I can preview it Chrome...but I need to see them in Captivate in order to design properly my slide !  Thanks !

I have a multistate object that when the user clicks a button a new image and caption appear. When they are all done clicking each button, a continue button appears. I have 3 buttons, plus the continue. I tried to change the states of the buttons so that when the user clicks each one, they will know which buttons still need to be clicked. For some reason it does not seem to work.  Has anyone been able to accomplish this?  Does it require advanced actions? - Thanks

Hey everyone, Is it possible to increase the size of the built in navigation controls within the Skin editor?  Perhaps with some extra JS or edting the JS on the backend?  The buttons look very blurry.   Thanks,Russ
