Captivate

Hi everyone!! I am having WAY too much trouble with symetrical wrapping. Here is what I have right now:But I want it to wrap more like 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. I set the wrap option to Symetrical but that didn't so anything and then when I try and put padding between them it just makes all the circles smaller instead of actually wrapping them...  Any ideas as to why???  Thank you!!

Hi allI have imported some pages from a PTT ( as all my old things are in PTT i canoot start all fro zero...) and i am still struggle with this...so after 2 weeks of beening awy from CP, im trying again 🙂love to understend what im doing worong  - as i importend some pages from PTT, added bottens in CP (as the borttens from PTT will not work here...) and still when i privew, it dose not work well...see atthed file 🙂Thank you SO much for your suport!Tom

I am new to Captivate and am tasked with learning how to use Captivate 8.  I need to add a certificate of completion to the end of my project and have many questions for which I cannot find any answers! Please, if anyone can answer these:1) I do not want the certificate to be printed until the score of the quiz reaches a specific minimum - for example, you need a score of 80% or better to print a certificate.  How do I do this with the print widget?2) I want the certificate to print out without the slide background and without the project's resolution - in other words, I only want the certificate image (with added text box for name) to print, IN LANDSCAPE, without the user having to make all the adjustments on their end (choosing landscape over portrait with their printer).  How is this accomplised? 3) I want a date entered on the certificate - how do I add this specific element?  Without a certificate widget and the use of Flash with this version, I am confused as

I've created many software sim projects with Captivate, but this is my first time trying to do it as a responsive project (also this is my first responsive project with Captivate) and my first project with Captivate 2019. The project is intended for desktop-laptop-iPad screens and not anything smaller. I've done some test captures with the default responsive dimensions of 1024 x 627, but I'd like more width and height. Any recommendations or tips on larger screen dimensions for a responsive software sim project?

I have been trying to figure out this responsive project with the fluid boxes. The last project I did was not responsive so the fluid boxes have been new to me. The one thing I can’t figure out of how to put in Vertical buttons but have the content be horizontal. Part of the problem seems to be fluid boxes being grayed out when I try to add more with the template they gave me. Here is what I see when trying to add more fluid boxes to the middle box.  I would like to add buttons like this one for the text to appear like from a previous project:  Anyways, I experimented with having the template as a master slide and It seems to work better: Even with that, I still can't seem to make it work because I need the shapes horzontal to the text but vertical to each other. Do I need a third fluid box for the smart shape buttons??? 

I have exported an XML file from my captivate project for translation purposes and now when I try to import it back into the project, it doesn't work and I get the message "cannot import". I notice that this has been happenning for years.  Does anyone have any solutions?

Using Captivate 2019, I have created a drag and drop quiz question that works perfectly on the PC.  But it does not work on the iPad.  It visually looks fine but when you touch the drag object it doesn't detect my finger and so the interaction can not be completed.  I did publish as HTML5. Thanks for any suggestions,Valtlcwithval.com

Hi,I'd like to have a simulation where the user clicks through a series of screens, for example the steps it takes to print a spreadsheet. When you print spreadsheets, it's common to set print area. To do that, you need to select the cells. Unfortunatly, when I record myself doing this it plays those few seconds instead of making the user click and drag to select the text. Is there a way to make this work? I suppose it's because everything else is just a snapshot when I click, but this would be many screenshots to go from the deselcted cells to when they're all selected. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!Running Captivate 9 on Windows.

When I try to start a new project using the Blank option, nothing happens. Also, in the Project Info | Recording | Defaults, there are no options available to select. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

In Captivate 2019 I have made a museum presentation with some choices for the user underways. If the presentation has been left unused for for example 2 minutes I want it go bach to slide 1.It can be done in Apple Keynote and PowerPoint. How do I do in Captivate?

Hi there,Why we cant turn on/off autplay free, as a personal choice? Or my question - when I MUST accept this stupid idea, how can I remove / modify this terrible white box after project loaded and stops? Because I have black background of HTML project, black colored playbar and this extereme white box make me nearly blind. Poor my clients...Question 2: Project, exported from cp2019 has over 50% more MB, than the same project exported from v2017.  Btw, interactive video as new function - good idea. I will discover it.Y.

Hello,I am currently attempting to change a setting that is in place on a Captivate project I have been asked to troubleshoot.The course itself will not post a specific grade at the end.I believe this is because the Results page was removed while questions are still present in the course.I have added the results page back to the project but after inspecting the Advanced Interaction page, it states that none of the questions are included in the Quiz.(All the questions in the Include in Quiz column show as "No" ).Is there anyway to change that No to a Yes and have ot calculate and post a final grade.Thank you for your time.Regards,Shaun

After publishing and viewing a project created in Captivate 2019, I've noticed that the broswer's (Chrome) zoom controls (Ctrl +/-) do not work. However, when I maximize the browser or scale the browser from the side, the published Captivate project scales accordingly.  This project was published in HTML5 only and Scalable HTML content was selected. Are the browsers zoom controls not able to work on a published file? Am I missing something?Thanks.MC

I'm using Captivate 2019 for Mac on Mojave. I'm tryng to add the emphasis effect "Flicker" to a box so it blinks around a particular important field but the flicker is more of a brown in and out. It is suuuuper slow-mow. I have the arrow extended on the timelie for 14 seconds, I also have the effect duration set for 14 seconds, but that doesn't seem to speed up the "beats per second" I am going for. I feel like this is probably stupid easy and I'm missing something.

Hi,This is regarding the exit button on the playback controls. I have been using Captivate from version 2. Recently, started using version 5. When I published my simulation, the exit button is not working as earlier. It is also not working from- web server(IIS, Apache), when opened as pop-up as well. In local too however not working. I tried in both IE 7 and Firefox latest version.I have seen the response from Adobe on this issue on this forum. It was quite surprising; it did not talk about the solution at all;What I am not sure about is -1. Why the exit button was working earlier versions.. why is it not working in latest?2. Why should when simple code like top.close(); works fine (when coded inside the Captivate)?3. Why is Adobe not acknowledging the issue?4. Why there is no working around provided in the forums for this issue?Could anybody please help me understanding this problem? I am really frustrated.Thanks.

This afternoon I downloaded the latest update (11.5.1.499). Now, when I go into Learning Interactions, all the games are gone (Jeopardy, Memory, Alphanums, etc.). Is that happening for anyone else? I searched the forums, release notes, etc., and didn't find any information.I tried one of my projects that uses a Jeopardy game and fortunately it still works. But it doesn't look like I can add a new one.Anyone know what's going on? Maybe it's because those games were Flash-based?Kathryn

I am trying to create the highlight box in the Object Style Manager. Is there any way to also add a shadow to this shape in the manager so it saves to the default?

I am creating a software simulation which captures some right click steps to add information into a field using copy and paste. Once I recorded and reviewed, I got this warning, One click box of this project have the 'Right-Click' property enabled. Right-click works only on web browser. Preview (if not on a web browser) can cause the 'Right-Click' to work as 'Left-Click'. Do you want to continue?Can anyone suggest how Captivate manages shortcuts and particularly right click functions for a swf project or if I need to redo the simulation as a responsive file?Thanks for any articles or advice that will help me understand this better.

Good Afternoon/Evening! EDIT: To my knowledge, we are using the current version of Captivate. Helping one of my co-workers with his Captivate project. We are getting an infinite loading screen when previewing in HTML5. I went thru Chrome's inspector and found this error: index.html:148 Uncaught ReferenceError: cp is not defined   at index.html:148   at XMLHttpRequest.b.onreadystatechange (CPXHRLoader.js:39 Additionally, digging further, I found a reference in the error to cp.imageJSON string. Funny enough, the project previews fine in SWF format and the HTML check shows NO errors in Captivate. Its only when he previews. I'm having him publish and upload to Prime to see if it works properly in our LMS. The course contains 2 drag and drop slides alongside a short quiz.  Anyone else experience this error or can assist? Note: I saw somewhere Paul mentioned IT rights for JSON on company intranet. Two months later happy to get my captivate 2019 update  for OS Catilina only to found is crashes at exactly the same place as it did before loads then go to click new and crash. Cant find a person to talk to and having lost money not being able to complete captivate work I know have to play find the problem again.
