Captivate

I can't open my executable file.  When I click on the file, I keep getting an error message saying the application is blocked, my IT department checked and say it isn't them, it an Adobe issue.  I have tried reloading the application, and the same thing happens, I can publish the project to my C drive, but when I click the executable file, I get the blocked message.  What can I do to fix this, or is there a patch available already?  Jeff R.

Hello, I am making a training module and I have a few slides where I put "Click to Reveal" animations. I did this by creating states with audio and when a user presses on a button it will open the corresponding state using an advanced option. If the user clicks on all buttons, the continue to next slide button becomes active.How do I limit the user from just pressing on all the buttons on the slide to just advance to next slide? Some of these have really important audio that there is just no room to place on the slide.Please post any solutions you may have or ask any questions you have that need to be clarified.Thank you so much!

Captivate 9.0.2.437So it took me some time to get the pop up for "Continue from where you stopped last time?" .  We are using moodle LMS.I added TOC, set used self paced and unchecked Never Send Resume Data.Now with the pop up, the OK button on the pop up brings me to pretty close to the last slide I left. However, I expected Cancel to start the activity over from slide 1, but it brings me pretty close to where I left off. In my test case it was the 2nd to last slide out of 35 slides.How can I receive this pop up with the option and start the lesson over from slide 1?

Hi again...I have a text entry box that needs to accept only certain numbers.There is a failure box visible and validation is turned on.Yet even if entering a higher number it still proceeds without showing the failure message and pausing.Any idea?

Hi everyone,my project is not showing any text after I included a quiz slide. It shows the boxes for the text, but not the text itself. It neither shows the text in the open project nor in the sidebar nor in HTML 5. I used a blank project, not any template. I already deleted the cache. I also tried to copy everything into a new project. That worked until I again included quiz slides. Any ideas on how to include a quiz without loosing the text?Kind regards,Luise

Hi, our customer uses COD and we need to get the resume function working. In our own LMS it works (clicking "cancel" in the pop up takes you back to the beginning). But here it doesn´t and always takes you back to the last slide visited.What can we do other than telling the customer it is their LMS´s issue?Is there an easy way to create a pop up on revisit asking the same question "do you want to restart?" (actually just 2 smartshapes offering to go back to slide one or continue back to the last visited slide as seems to be the default)?How do we check whether it is a second (or higher) time somebody opens the LMS?Thanks a lot!!

Hi, I am using fill in the blank slides but the space allocated for each answer is too small. Also the "select" isn´t shown at first.Any idea why that is?Does the first entry have to be the longest?I solved it through adding blank spaces before and after the answers and putting the longest one first.It is CP9 but this seems very odd...

Hello,I used to be able to add buttons to quiz slides. I have quite a few past projects where I use custom navigation and it worked fine on the quiz slides at the end of each topic. I've also added buttons that would allow the user to view a file or a bit of text needed to answer the quiz question. After running the latest update that stopped functioning.I'm currently on Captivate 2017 10.0.0.192. Windows 64bit OS

I'm working in Cp 8 and trying to make a course fully Section 508 compatible. I've been testing with the screen reader Window-Eyes. The screen reader can access the playbar buttons and TOC fine, and it usually recognizes interactive elements on the screen. However, most of the time, the screen reader isn't acknowledging any captions or smart shapes with text on the screen. Many slides are just text plus a transparent text button to pause the screen, so mostly I need the screen reader to read the course content. According to the documentation, I shouldn't have to copy the text into the Accessibility Name for each object, although I have tried that in a few places without success. The accessibility functionality seems so flaky. Once in a while I can get something to work, but not completely, or I can't repeat it.I have been able to get the screen reader to read the text if I remove all interactive elements including the playbar and TOC. Hi, if i insert a Question page in Captivate 7 with a true/false radio button the first line is ok but the second: Radiobutton               textRadiobutton                                   textBut as you see, the second textline is always 1 line among the radio button. It is impossible to change something. Please help and advise.regards Peter

The slide is showing nothing in the flimstrip and when I try and copy and paste into another project, it shows the dark slide with nothing.

I'm trying to execute an advanced action in Captivate when a button created in Animate CC is click.I've been following this tutorial: How to Trigger Captivate Advanced Actions with Javascript | eLearning I've created a clickbox called "Menu_btn" which on click executes an advanced action.My code in Animate CC is:this.menu_mc.addEventListener("click", fl_MouseClickHandler.bind(this));function fl_MouseClickHandler(){    this.menu_mc.gotoAndPlay('click');    window.parent.cp.clickHandler(Menu_btn);}The "window.parent.cp.clickHandler(Menu_btn);" should execute the advanced action as if the "Menu_btn" clickbox was clicked, but nothing happens.  If I create another button in captivate with the execute JavaScript code "cp.clickHandler(Menu_btn);" it works fine, so I'm not sure why it isn't working in Animate CC. Hi there,A complete novice with Captivate so please bear with me!I created a SCORM package from a Powerpoint presentation where one slide has separate animations on it - think of a Generation Game conveyor belt which will run when you first click on the Play button but then the secondary animations which run automatically in the original Powerpoint do not start in the SCORM package until you hit the Play button for the second time.Is there a way to enable both animations to play in the SCORM package with just one click of the Play button please?Does this even make sense? Hello,I have two issues with my course I have written and being very inexperienced with Captivate I am struggling to resolve it.My ELearning course has three lots of questions at various stages to refresh what we have covered at certain points. At the very end of the course I have a final random quiz covering all topics that they have a set pass mark which we use for bench marking to see if they need further training. If they don't pass they have to retake (which is set for three attempts).When they complete the final quiz and reach the pass mark first time the course is marked as complete on our LMS  and they can print the certificate.First issue. If they do not compete the pass mark and select retake test, instead of just taking them back to the beginning of the final quiz it will take them to the start of the first lot of questions then it will take them from that point back through the project to the end.Second issue once they have completed the retake (from the first set of q

I am having difficulties in importing/uploading audio files to my power point using adobe presenter. I have the audio files saved in my google drive and on my computer, but when I access the files to import in presenter, I am unable to see the files where I have them saved. Please help with any ideas or suggestions. Thank you.

hi,I have TOC enabled in my module and the results screen are not showing in TOC( slide is skipped in TOC) , when i navigate through it. When i click the next button in the slide before the Results Screen, it doesnt navigate to the Results Screen and it stays in the same slide.Any help is appreciated.ThanksVanitha

Hello Captivate Experts,I have created an Aggregator Project with Table of Contents, in theory the ToC of the Master Movie should take over the properties of the Aggregator but certain functions are not working:1. Both on the Master Movie and on the other projects there are actions to show the ToC.  They work perfectly on the single project, but not on the Aggregator project.2. On the non-master projects the last slide is set to show the ToC on entry. Again, when previewed or exported separately, this function works fine but not when integrated into the Aggregator project.Any solution to this issue?Many thanks,Bernadett

Hello All, My current employer had used a special font set that is no longer required / used. They have decided to use all Arial font for all CBT/WBTs. Is there a way to mass edit fonts in Captivate 9? Using Object Styles Manager, I tried to edit the styles to how they should be, exported all of them, and tried to Import and update them in another Captivate project. It seemed to work somewhat, but hoping there is a better way!@Liliberi,Have you had to update fonts, en mass before?  Thank you for your insight!-Kate

Hello All,I am not understanding why some of my graphics, not all, and not the same ones if I publish to executable multiple times.  The graphics are svg, not large, resized prior to adding to captivate 9.I need to publish to an executable format for a customer, but can not get Captivate 9 to provide a complete, correct executable.  Anyone have this issue before?  Any solutions?ThanksRichard

Hello all,I am using the Knowledge Check option in Captivate 9 to create some questions. I would like my students to see the correct answers after they failed twice before they move on to the next question. I can't seem to find any option under Quiz Properties. My questions are multiple choice and True/false.What am I missing? The custom feedback does not help, as the answers vary from question to question. Is this possible?Thanks!Lilybiri​
