Captivate

Hi there,I'm building a 360 VR in Captivate using 360 videos. I have no problem getting the timing to work on when the hotspot to work, my problem is that the slide will not tranisition automatically without the user pressing the play button on th player, which would be troublesome if the user was viewing this course using a device in VR mode. Which, that doesnt work either by the way. Yes I have the lastest version 11.8. This is a very important project with lots of eyes. Any help would be apprecatiated. 

I installed captivate 2019 on a new Mac and if i try to put in the serial number, captivate told me that the number is invalid. I use captivate for many years (now in Annual subscription) and the only serial number i'v got is the serial number from Captivate 6.It seems that there is no possibilty to contact the support...

Hi! I am new to Captivate, I have created a project that features a few knoledge check slides. I am trying to upload it to the LMS platform KnowBe4. This platform will only accept SCORM or video files. I don't believe the knowledge check will be interactive if I upload as a video file, however I have tried several options of saving the project as a SCORM file, however the platform keeps rejecting it.  Does anyone have any knowledge with the compatibility between Captivate and KnowBe4? I have followed instructions found online and YouTube but no luck. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you 🙂

Hi All, Now I am new to Captivate and I am making my first online learning class. All I want to do is for students to click a button and an image to reveal.  I've looked at some of the earlier comments and they don't seem to hit the mark plus many are from 2016! So in a simple way, how do I have students click a button or a click box, then an image to reveal. Then click again to remove the image?  Thanks allNick

How can I create buttons, or other interactions, that pause and play a video -- let's say a slide video -- and ensure that I can generate xAPI statements, such as:User paused video at 32 secondsUser started video at 35 secondsUser exited video slide. I can set interactions (buttons and click boxes) to be reported but am hoping I can get pause / play to work, as well. Also, in which html or js file can I find xAPI code output by Captivate? I can't find it, but can clearly see the results in Scorm Cloud logs. Thanks!

Hi, I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, but when I use the context menu in Adobe Captivate (2019 release) to, for example, duplicate a slide or adjust the mouse position to that on the previous page, I often have to press the mouse button a few times before the command in the context menu even responds. This is quite frustrating in the long run. It seems as if the context menu is not in the focus of the mouse click. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this delayed reaction time?

I have just installed Adobe Captivate 2019. It shows the (loads...) screen and closed. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but it is the same. What do you think the issue could be?

I have created a 3 part software simulation with an assessment at the end. Parts 2 & 3 are working as designed. Part 1 is giving me a score at the end of the simulation but it is not posting the score in the LMS and includes a continue button on the score page but does not continue. It just sits there like it does not know what to do. I have it set to "exit" just like the other 2 parts but it doesn't. I can manually exit but it doesn't post my score. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm trying to link other project from the project I created, by the button as the trigger.It works as of the preview but doesn't work on LMS with error message shows up.I followed the official work flow according to the user guide and checked the community for help many times but I couldn't find any solution. (might be not good enough to find it)I also tried to put the file or project with several different file format according to the user guide; When linking Captivate projects and publishing HTML5 output, copy all the referenced projects with their corresponding HTML files to the callees folder in the output folder. Nothing worked.Is there any other solution to solve this issue? Thanks,Mariko 

Hi All, I'm creating a basic computer skills assessment. I want instructions to be available to users while completing tasks, and I want them to be able to move them around or close them. I programmed a smartshape button with JavaScript (see end of post for script) to open a pop-up window with the instructions. This is mostly great. My users will have variable levels of computer skills, and I'm concerned that they won't all recognize that they should close that pop-up before moving on to the next task. They would end up with 30 open pop-ups. I want that pop-up to close automatically when users move on to a new task. Executing JavaScript seems like the most logical way to do that, but I'm struggling with how to get it to close the pop-up, not the project window. Is JavaScript the best way to do this? If not, any suggestions? If yes, how do I write that script? I'm ok being pointed to resources to figure this out, too. Clearly, I have no experience with JS and am not

Hi everyone, I want to play/pause a slide by the use of custom icons and triggers and this was possible, but then this can't work with slides that have layers on them. The project I am working on didn't have the play and pause buttons so they weren't developed with this in mind. On the slides with layers (3 or more), the Play/Pause and Mute/Unmute buttons are not working and I think JS would be the ones to use. Can anyone suggest solutions to this?Buttons used: When you click the pause button it pauses the slide and shows the play button and vice versa. When you click the volume button it mutes the audio and shows the muted icon and vice versa. I appreciate your support. Best Regards,Elyse

Hi all, New Captivate user (as necessitated by a work contract), 10+ Creative Suite user.... I am wondering if I'm doing something wrong - trying to create a Master Slides template for a contract so that they can re-use it without a designer on board. I added placeholder images here and there throughout a my 50+ wireframe template...and realized when I was in Filmstrip view that if I added an image to the placeholder image it squashes/stretches said image. This is highly unusal, right? Is there a button I'm not toggling or something to get the image to stay in place, but not automatically conform/stretch an image to whatever shape it gets framed in? Also I am coming from Adobe products, as an experienced PPT user point of view if that helps anyone find mental equivalents to make explanation easier. So far my work-around has been to screenshot my Captivate screens and place them into PPT, then go into master slides and add Placeholder Images, then exit to main view and ha

This is more information than a help request, however, I feel obligated to communicate this in the event someone has or is experiencing similar and didn't understand why. I've spent the past hour or so on a remote session with Adobe Support attempting to figure out why my Smart Shape Buttons weren't behaving as they should.  Basically, a portion of my button done nothing, roll-over state wouldn't initiate and a click would have no result. Yesterday's live chat session ended with what I thought was a solution, of sorts.  It was suggested I copy and paste my slides into a new project and this worked, that is until I added in my master slides, TOC and preferences.  Upon reviewing again, the button behavior was broken, again! So back to that last live chat session, prior to the remote session, I had narrowed the issue down to the TOC.  Every time I applied my customized TOC, the button issue would return.  Long story short, perhaps a bit late for tha

In current captivate we can use ,Text button or transparent button or image button for drag and drop activity.can we use any shape and use that as a button. the reson behind is as follows: in publish output on screen text loos little bit blury. to avoid that we has a solution to make text dynamic. So we are adding a "Null" variable with blank value and we are adding it to every text box.Now we are getting cristal clear text.Unfortunately activities like Drag and drop where inbuilt Submit button is used we can not able to add $$Null$$ to that.If we use button where text is written on shape we can achieve. please suggest

Bonjour, 2 besoins pour un projet : - J'aimerais mettre une barre de progression avec un curseur qui me permette de faire avancer ou reculer une "video slide". L'idée serait de faire avancer/reculer la timeline sur laquelle se trouve ma vidéo. Autrement dit, si je mets le curseur de la barre de progression à 50%, je dois me trouver aussi à 50% sur ma timeline. Est-ce possible ? Si oui, comment ? - J'aimerais savoir s'il est possible de mettre des actions (ou autre solution) sur la timeline qui changerait le contenu d'un champ texte : par exemple à 3 minutes mon champs texte affiche "j'aime le riz" et à 3 minutes 20 le même texte affiche "j'aime les pâtes".Merci à vous !

Hello,Is there a setting button in adobe captivate that is multifunctional that shows & hides all the user interaction buttons. For example, when an XYZ button is clicked it should show cc, play pause, toc, etc together. When the XYZ setting button is closed it should hide all the other buttons as well.

I have installed Adobe Captivate 2019 on my notebook. I went to install Adobe Captivate Voices 2019 (Win64), but I was unsuccessful because the Adobe installer claims that my operating system or browser is out dated. However I use Win 10, version 21H2 and my Internet Explorer is also in the latest version. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Does anyone know how to remove the file name showing outside the text caption?

In your experience do you think Captivate is more efficient and higher quality than Storyline to develop software simulation training? My experience is Captivate is faster and much more powerful.

Hi all, this s my first post here and I likely use Captivate a bit different from most, but I'm hoping someone can be of assistance. I'm creating pretty basic, stripped down Captivate projects and embedding the index.html files into an iframe into a hybrid app. It's worked fine but I've run into a serious issue concerning the viewport, given a few extra buttons. They're being cut off on smaller devices and don't allow the user to progress.  I could enable scrolling, but the experience wouldn't be ideal. I'm looking for a way to adjust the viewport to the innerHeight of the available viewport (removing any app interfaces, etc). Has anyone done anything similar? I'm looking at the .html file in a text editor, but I'm not sure where to adjust. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi there, I want to translate English eLearnings into Spanish and other languaes. From what I can see Captivate has the built in options of English, French (Chloe) and Yumi (at least i think this is chinese??).Is there any way to download, purchase other languages such as spanish?  Or a recommended workflow using another translation application that fits in well with Adobe Captivate? 

Where on the Adobe platform can I check to see how many points I have accumulated to earn free months of Captivate?
