I'm only able to set triggers to simple keyboard keys and midi keys. Is there any way I can use keys like CTRL, ALT, or numpad keys?
I have been successful (thanks to OkaySamuri) in getting my character walking. I have him walking both right and left, and I can even hold his facing position (keylatch) and can have him also walk backwards in either direction. My problem is that my standing (or frontal pose) will not disapear when start walking in either direction. The standing position just stays on screen. I have all 3 views turned on, but cannot seem to find what I am doing wrong in having the standing artwork disappear during the walking behavior. Please help!!
Recently started adding head turns to a character I use to represent myself for streams, but can't get the body to stay pinned since I added them. The longer hair means I had to layer things a bit differently than I usually do so that the hair would move over the body as it turned and now for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to pin the body. Any help would be appreciated!
can u tell me how it is ?
The superior auto-lipsynching and ability to use triggers for facial expressions in character animator makes animating my cartoon character's faces so so much faster than adobe animate. However, I still need to use adobe animate for basically everything else. Is there a way for me to animate my characters heads in character aniamtor, and then import the head back into adobe animate, as a head symbol for my characters?
TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of undefinedError code: (Vec2.js:127)Kindly help me fixing this error. While regging my character, wanted to preview in record but got this issue.
Is there a way to 'lock' your artwork in the rigging panel to prevent it from being moved? I was rigging my character to walk today and idk if some of the handles/behaviours messed things up or if I accidentally dragged the artwork out of place, but the arms and neck were messed up. They're fine in the illustrator document, but I had to manually move them back into place in the rigging panel. Is there a way to prevent this? Some sort of preference or setting I should have turned on? Thanks!
I've been working on a scene with several puppets, after doing some basic recording I realized I needed more time at the beginning of the scene. So I grabbed everything & moved it down the timeline by around 10 seconds. Everything was fine, except when I try to record keyboard or camera input for one of the character's eyes, it doesn't work. It records, but when it's played back the puppet's eyelids are shut. I even copied & pasted the eye movements I have working later in the timeline which was recorded before I moved everything, but that doesn't work either - but if I paste it later in the timeline it does work. It's like something at the start of the timeline is keeping her eyes shut. I've turned off auto blink, eye gaze, and face controls and the copied recording still doesn't work. The puppet has not been altered in illustrator or in rigging since the initial recording.
Hi,I'm new to Ch.I've been binging tutorials on the program but I can still not figure out whats wrong with my puppets eyes.they fly around and I can't seem to restrict their movement. Here's what it looks like:Puppet Eye Problem
Hello,I am still learning the program. The torso and all the limbs are in different layers. When the arms move the torso is pinched to the side. Why is that? Can I change that the torso is not dependent on the arm movements? And why does it look like my pants are one stretchy mess when I have two separate layers for Left Leg and Right Leg? How can I make them not stretch each other.
Unfortunately my camera (Logitech) does not work in newer versions of Character Animator (the camera does not work only in this program). Only worked in version 1.5 (2018). I saw many people have this problem, but somehow this problem is not being solved. Hopefully this will be resolved in the next updates. If there is any solution please let me know.
I've run into this problem before. Last time when I installed Adobe Premere it fixed this. I re instlled NDI on my comp and down it's not working. I also installed after effects. I need this option, it's why i'm paying for the service.
Hi everyone, Working with a student on an explainer video and her layers will not sync from PS to CA. I have tried reopening the file, recreating the Photoshop file but I have the same issue. help?
Where can I download an earlier version of character animator? I deleted mine and my Mac will not support the latest version. Thanks in advance
Hello, I have the impression that the software has been programmed for sounds in English when the character speaks. How is it possible to adjust in French? thank you so much

When I launch Premiere Pro or After Effects project files that contain Character Animator Scenes that were dynamically linked, Premiere Pro and After Effects cannot find the Character Animator Scenes. This was working yesterday but for some reason I cannot open the projects anymore. Does anyone know if there is a best practice to deal with this issue like deleting a corrupted file or something? I am running the latest version of Character Animator on a PC with a 5900x and rtx3070 with 64gb ram.
Similar to how you you can turn on the visibility of your dragger handles, there are times when I'd find it helpful if my sticks showed up green on the stage so I could troubleshoot their placement. When the legs or arms are warping in ways I don't like, the solution is often to trial-and-error move those sticks around and find the perfect sweet spot. I think I might be able to pinpoint what part of the stick is influencing the mesh in an ugly way if I could see the sticks while the puppet's moving.
When i create a trigger and replay it hand are going like this. This is happening when i change the hand position before i triggerHow to fix this
A lovely 3 minute video that deserves a look. In a nice retro style itself https://vimeo.com/93206523 The 12 basic principles of animation were developed by the 'old men' of Walt Disney Studios, amongst them Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, during the 1930s. Of course they weren't old men at the time, but young men who were at the forefront of exciting discoveries that were contributing to the development of a new art form. These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disney's desire to use animation to express character and personality.
I think I have everything tagged correclty:+Left Eye +Left Pupil Left Eyeball But the pupils do not respond/move at all when I try to record movements using the Mouse & Touch input.Any ideas?
Hi,Does anyone know if there's an effect I can use to make bright beaming lights like this? Thanks!
So I noticed two problems I have been having with the auto blink behavior if anyone can help me out. 1st, no matter what setting I use for Blinks per Minute, Blink Duration, and Randomness, the puppet will sometimes double blink instead of blinking once. It makes the animation look like there's a mistake. Has anyone else encountered this issue and solved it? 2nd, when I use the Auto Blink behavior, the puppet's eyes will remain closed until it starts talking or moving. So like if I have the puppet just standing there for 5 seconds before it does anything both eyes will remain shut for the 5 seconds until it does something. I know it's the Auto Blink behavior causing this because when I turn it off its eyes will open in the beginning. Is there a solution to this? Thanks.
Who in their right mind would willingly use Adobe Character Animator, an app about as user-friendly as a colonoscope constructed of used heroin needles and rusty razor blades? No character you design will ever work, and if you say it does, you're lying.
