I have a character with front, left & right quarter head turns & body turns. Is it possible to do all this with a character in Character Animator? I get blinking on and off of the chracter in record mode. I can do head turns with a single body, but not all of them. Right now, I have three separate characters for each of the body turns, and plan on editing it all together...but that is going to be time consuming. Is there a better way that I have not tried yet?
Thank you i would also like to ask i would like my character to point at the screen i have downloaded a puppet and put in to the right group the puppet has 2 fingers pointing is there a tutorial on how to get the puppet to move his hand in the scene and point
Hi community, I need some help with understanding how can I improve my workflow as I am running into the same issue time and time again. It happened before to lose a performance once it has been finalised, without a chance of recovering it due to different software errors. Can someone explain to me - how to make sure that a performance once finalised, is kept intact in case of any errors appear along with additional changes being made? Once I have finalised the proj I wanted to export the scene via media encoder, which I did without issues, but it happened to be needed to make some additional changes to resize the artboard in AI before re-exporting again the CA proj. and it seems once any type of change occurs at the initial artwork, as this time has happened to be needed to resize the artboard, without making any other changes to the artwork itself, errors occur within CA when auto-saving the AI file, it destroys the entire performance, it moved the artwork around, the
Unfortunately my laptop crashed, which happens often when working with adobe, but this time my files of 1 specific ch. Animator project disappeared and the file is now blank. I also got this error message. Does anybody know what i can do to get my project back?!
Hello, I copied and pasted my puppet file for duplication, when i dragged my duplicated file into CH the rigging looks a little messed up....when i walk with the duplicated file the arms and legs bend out of shape...why is this happening?
thanks
Hi,It's strange, prior to 3.5 version of CA I didn't have this problem I think. So you know when you stretch the word you're using for emphasis or something ("John, nooooooo!")? During these syllables the mouth of the puppets disappear after one frame or so and the audio keeps playing. After the long syllable ends, the mouth is back to normal. Is there any way to fix this? I tried messing around with the cycle layers behavior and whatnot but to no avail. I even tried to mess with the lip movements on the timeline but it's still the same...
I have recorded audio that I've tried to use lip sync with. The visemes appear in my timeline, however the puppet's mouth doesn't change. It looks like everything is showing up tagged correctly, though i've never done a puppet with different head positions (he has right quarter, frontal and left quarter). I followed along with Dave's video on Limb IK when i was rigging this puppet, but Dave's character didn't have right quarter and left quarter facing heads included, so I wonder if the problem is related to that. It does seem like it could cause problems to have it labeled Rusty>Frontal>Head and then under head have "frontal" "right quarter" and "left quarter". Maybe having 2 different levels labeled "Frontal" can throw things off? I have included some screen shots. Thanks!Joe
Dear Community, I am turning to you, a little desperate. I have a Character Animator project that is part of a larger After Effects project. When I open my After Effects project, I get an error like "Failed to connect to Adobe Dynamic Link Source". Indeed, when I try to open the CA project, I get an error like "Unable to open repo.noindex". This seems to be a fairly common error. I followed the advice given in different posts on the same subject: move the files locally, tried to repair the file as suggested here by Danbroken but I stille get the same... I really need some help...Thank you in advance!Julie
I have a free trial of Character Animator, but don't know how to actually buy it. There is a 'Buy Now' button within the Creative Cloud App, but when I click it Character Animator isn't listed in the products on the resulting web page: "https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/plans.html?plan=individual&sdid=KPGPI&product=Creative%20Cloud%20Desktop&mv=product&mv2=accc". Nor is it listed here: https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/plans.html It is here: https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html, but that just allows me to download the free trial, which I already have. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks.

Might a future update to Character Animator enhance the Characterizer feature to include some full-body puppets, especially ones with walk cycles and triggers already built in? I would love to have the ability to create some full-body puppets as easily as I build the Characterizer talking heads. Anyone else think this would be a useful addition?
Suppose I create a character along with some rigging. later, I create another character and I want the same animations. is it possible to copy the animation and rigging from character #1 and past it onto character #2
I've made a really unusual character - microphone whose stand has two "necks" that attach to the head. (See below) Only the right neck will attach and move properly to the head of the microphone. Both are tagged as necks and independent. Any work arounds here would be amazing.
As subject says: Stopping the walk (releaseing the arrow key) I'm not able anymore to move head, and it shakes weirdly. Any suggestion? Here my setup: Character Animator 3.5 | OSX
Hi, for some reason recently all my character animator projects have been saving as '0kb' projects. I am still able to work within them and open them, however I cannot share them with anyone as the file will not send due to being an empty file. All my previously saved projects on my computer have also turned into '0kb' files. I wonder if there is a way to fix it. I have re-installed the app and it is up to date so I am not sure why this has suddenly happened.
I need help with my puppet. I want my puppet to walk forward and then stop then do a bit of dialog to the camera. When he is not walking he automatically t-poses, I don't want that to happen. But i have tried to fix this by dragging my character's arms into the position and then when he tries to walk again, his walking cycle is not right. How would i go about making it, all i want is for his hands to be by his sides when he is not talking then the normal walk after. If anyone can help I would be really appreciative. I have attached a video where it shows that is happening. I have also attached the puppet and the illustrator files. Hi, I have seen the CharacterCooker creator Henk Visser post his examples with the old puppet "Professor Lurki" but I cant find it anywhere online. Im pretty sure he mentioned it was a free template character from Adobe, but with the constant website changes I cant find it anywhere. If anyone has it and its free, can you please post it?Cheers
Hi All, Title may be a bit vague, hopefully can clarify here. Example, when I click on the left/right arms of the puppet is there an option in not seeing the existing handle and stick tools? I want to create a new set of handle and stick tools, however the outline of the exisitng ones are always visible (with a blue rectangle around the whole arm). Possible to assist please?I don't want to lose the existing handle and stick tools, just want to edit the puppet with the exisitng tools turned off, so as to create different movements for my puppet. Hope that makes sense.Thank you.
I cannot preview or see my puppet in the screen. please help
Hi all, after I went back into Character Animator from Illustrator, my character was no longer displayed correctly. What can I do about it?The character is still there. Thank you in advance.
I started a new CA document, opened a Blank puppet, then clicked on it to edit in Photoshop. I saved it in Photoshop, then started a new CA document and it imported with the puppet icon but won't respond to the camera. Suggestions?

So I have followed a tutorial on how to make a walk cycle, however, the walk cycle looks insane and does not work, I wondered if anyone knew what i was doing wrong i think i rigged it correctly, however, i am still new at this.
