I have a cartoon with Front, Right, and Left walking profiles. How can I make the head move from left to right without the body moving? How can you set this up as a trigger? Thanks
I have a 3 profile puppet built using the "Business guy" as a template. however when I try to add arm tags to my left profile.(having added them to frontal and right profile) it no longer works. when I remove the tags, the left profile appears again when pressing left arrow key again.
I realized that hands (built like example models of CA, dragger on hand piece)are actually able to be zoomed using 2fingersbut I don't know if it's a bug, it is not possible to zoom 2hands at the same time only 1hand can be zoomed(My tablet is multi point touch supported tablet and I am able to play piano with it)(Both hands are built in the same way, both hands are zoomable but not at the same timeI can zoom them one by one but not both) Also, hand which is zoomed in or zoomed out cannot be re-zoomed in or out again...The only way to reset the size of the hand is to use dragger option to make it to it's default position.(return to rest) Has anyone tried to rig hands using touch option ?Are you having same zoom in out issue like me ? (Can be zoomed just once, cant rig both hand)
Can I use auto lip sync in Character Animator with my own cartoon jpeg or png? Most of the YouTube and Adobe tutorials focus on creating one's own puppet from scratch, or using the stock puppets. I want to use my own cartoon image and make him speak/talk! Is this possible? I am a beginner to animating, so easy-to-use instructions would be much appreciated!
I am drawing from Illustrator and would like to animate some drawings in Character animator. What file format should I save from Illustrator to work on Character animator?
I am trying to use character animator to animate objects. In this case I want to animate a hydraulic cylinder. (see attached picture below) I can draw the cylinder in illustrator and send it to character animator. As fluid comes in or out of either side of the cylinder, the rod end of the cylinder encircled en red moves in or out of the body of the cylinder. Using Character Animator, what do you think is the best way to create a perfect straight line motion of the cylinder rod moving in or out of the cylinder body? Next we can do 3 x stuff.. for those who already thinking about it...
Hello,I'm using Midilink mini (& bass gutar )usb via Character Animator ver 3.3.1.There is recognition of the midi notes, and midi notes triggered played, BUTWhile I play the notes there is error , code: 829106661:284+12 . I hope it will be fixed soon, so basicly while I play my guitar the character will move live without error.
Hi, I'm trying to export an animated sequence from CA with a transparent background, but can't seem to get it to work. Ive tried exporting with Alpha but still my background is black. I need the transparent background so I can place my character into an Articulate Storyline file. Articulate allows the import of SWF, so am wondering if there is a way to export from CA to some other program that will then export to SWF. Any help appreaciated.
Is there a way to edit the blinks in a recording just like you can edit the individual visemes for mouth shapes? How do you access the frames with the blink to be able to move them and extend or shrink their duration?
I have created a project at home on my macbook, and have transferred it through Google Drive to my work iMac. When I attempt to open the project file, I receive this error message:Internal error code: (1235019258:534+16) bad argument #2 ((*temporary)) to (null) (string expected, got nil)I have done this successfully before with a different project/puppet. Is there a reason and solution?
Hi all,I was wondering if there was ever a real answer for a good webcam for CA?Ive read quite a few posts, and most are based on Mac. I have a windows 10 -64bit pro OS.I saw a few mentions about workarounds, and not good focus, etc., so ive deffinitely done my homework. I even searched youtube (which made the question worse). So does anyone have any suggestions for a good webcam for CA is my basic question? But truthfully (to get something off my back). Why does selling botteled water from $1 to $2 a bottle get you a trip to the front of the line to a firing squad. for "gouging"? But selling a webcam that was $89 for $400 not get you the same condemnation? Thats the thought for the day.Anyway,Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I`m still pretty new to all of the animating features. I took the blank puppet and edited to make characters I`d like to use. When I import the image it resizes and is too large to fit on the screen in Ch. I went back and scaled down in Ai however it`s uneffected in Ch.How do I fix this?
This happens to me on just about every project I do and I've never complained about it but PLEASE fix this bug. Dynamic link is already very difficult to use but when I use it I always get something like this that happens.... Watch less then 2 seconds in I have one frame (a goalie) take the place of my other CH character. This character isn't even in this scene its from a completely different CH scene and composition.https://go.onemob.com/v/YdSxryexYILD5V4iLhtnaQ This happens on almost every project I use dynamic link on. 😞
everything time I do a 2 frame take of me moving my character arm it records with the arm bending the oppsite way that i want please somebody help me 😫😫
For some reason, After running Media Encoder with my scene from CA. It shows the Video scene in Premiere in Project panel.. It plays the video with no sound. Yet I'm unable to place the video in the timeline. It shows I can bring the audio over. It happens with the update and older version.
How to make frame by frame animations that i can use cycle layers with and ?Where can i make these animations.Eg-Fire,Money falling etc like Okay Samurai(Dave) does in his videos
Request a new feature that would allow skeletal rigging to be designed from within Illustrator (or photoshop). Utilizing similar tagging like we do "+" to make a layer independent, we could allow a precursor label on a line segment within an art layer to be converted into a stick, the center of circles to become handles, pins, or the layer anchor point (again, dependent on the precursor used) and tagged as the appropriate body part based on the name. I've found myself spending a significant amount of time re-rigging my puppets (especially the body parts) each time I add a feature that requires reorganizing my character's layers (such as adding a walk behavior or cycle layers) - this would also allow for "copy and paste" of rigging between similar layers and speed up the work flow significantly. Thank you!
I had OBS studio, NDI, Character Animator and apowerMirror application, once I enable the Mercury transmit of the Character Animator the apowerMirror app becomes laggy or very slow motion. Did I missed some configuration somewhere? Any advise appreciated. Thanks ahead.
After effects renders Character Animator Dynamic Links VERY slowly! Am i missing something here with this workflow?
I can't figure out why the top of my puppet's head won't move, only the bottom part does. Can anyone help? Here is a dropbox with the video of what it does as well as my layers in photoshop. Thanks! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e5vgoxqevsenynp/AABZB2T5dtleVkSnVUCnoczBa?dl=0
録画をした後、再生をしたところ、タイムラインは短いのですが、音声だけ再生速度がすごく遅く再生されます。何が原因でしょうか?教えていただきたいです。よろしくお願いいたします。

I just came off an hour or more of hair pulling . . . being bald on top that was a feat. I thought I would be fancy and made the puppets pupils a blurred circle to give it a more natural look. When I imported the pupped to CH the eye behavior was greatly exagerated and moved out of the eyes and onto the face. I had used an "Eyeball" layer to constrain the pupil. What I did not realize, that while I could not see the blur extending beyond the eyeball proper, CH interpretid the entire extent of the blur as being the pupil. Thus, CH saw this huge eyeball (pupil) while I only saw the blurred center. Beware of the blurrrrrrrrrr.
I'm fairly new to Character Animator but I've been working on using hand-drawn sprites then building a puppet using those sprites for real-time animation. I looked around but there weren't any discussions or tutorials that covered this and I wanted to know if anyone could point me in the right direction. The key issues I'm running into are that when I scale up the pixelated sprites they don't keep pixelation (which I want), and lip-syncing by switching between sprites has been a pain because even though I built all of the mouth shapes I'm using JUST the mouth shapes as my whole animation and it doesn't appear to be properly switching between them. I hope I explained that right. Also, I'd like for idle animations and such to automatically go between several sprites but it just seems to draw them all on top of each other. I tried to mimic the boiling animation structure that Characterizer uses to switch between frames but it simply doesn't do it. Anywa
I built my puppet in Illustrator. I have been fooling around for days. I cannot get her eyes to open. I've run out of things to try. Any ideas?
