Hi!Im trying to create a swap set of hands, but the default option is hidden, so the "normal" hand is hidden in the record mode- anyone knows how to fix this problem?
Hi I created my first puppet and rigged it following the Rigging tut at Okay samurai. After rigging it everything worked as well as Limb IK. When I add walk behavior, the character walks, but when I try to drag the arm the arms float awayWhen I remove walk behavior then the arms work fine...Not sure what I doing wrong. Thank you
Hi I am trying to use the pen display tablet with Character Animator. Its a Huion 22 inch display. It works well in the Rig mode. However if I use it in Record mode. and try to drag a draggable handle. its not responding the way a mouse does. ANyone facing similar issues? This is what happened why I tried to drag the characters left wrist.Any help would be appreciated, since I find tablet more easy to use than mouse.Thank you
Hello!I just found out that by putting (A) in the layer name, it is automatically registered in the trigger! So I was wondering if there is a way to control swap sets, behaviors, etc. by putting in a layer name or path layer.Does anyone know how to do this?
Can anyone tell me from where I can download Mandarin language visemes for Character Animator? I saw an old post from 2017 mentioning visemes for Chinese in a language pack, but I didn't see the full answer to my question there. I'm playing .wav files, but assume the associated visemes are for the English language lip sync. Is there a plug and play availability for Mandarin visemes? That is the language my .wav file will be in and I'd like the puppet to appear to be speaking Mandarin. Thank you for any help anyone can provide.
Hi Dave and team I'm working on a medieval guy that i ant to have a frontal look and not a 3 quarter as most of the characters.Once in a while i want to ba able te switch the arms from the front of the body to the back. For now I've created a double ste for each arm , but this is somewhat tedious. It would be nice if i could toggle the layer arrangementat certain moments , where it keeps te position of the arms.i recorded my question in camtasia and i gathered all in a zip you can find it here on my CC account Adobe Creative Cloud sorry for my broken english. By the way: what great stuff CH is !
Please, give the ability to reduce these icons 32x32 16x16 8x8 pixl. My character has a lot of triggers and they don't fit in 1920x1080 screen resolution.Thanks/
Hi,I have to make a decision that depends on any possible improvements on RAM management (and the release date):WHERE I'M AT:I have a 15 episode (6 hour) project lined up to be finished. Puppets, rigging, background footage, camera angles, drawings, explainer graphics/animations are all finished. All I need to do now is record the performances and replace the static placeholders I used to setup the other elements of the scenes in AE through dynamic linking and hit export.CURRENT ISSUES:My episodes are long. The puppets are 4k to make different shots possible. There are hefty 4k image cycles etc. In short: as described a while back, my 64 Gig of RAM get used up and eventually the system crashes, because - I assume - the current beta is not part of the Adobe CC max RAM settings in the preferences. So every puppet calls up an instance of CH and the longer the scene, the more RAM each instance uses, until - if long and complicated enough - the RAM maxes out and the system crahes. CURRENT W
I haven't used Character Animator in a few months and when I opened it up, this is what it looked like.
I reopened a finished file after about 3 weeks. And the left eye began to warp as I moved my head. (The camera tracking my face.) It appears only the left eye is warping. The right eye seems fine.. It almost returns to round when I stop. After a while, it begins to warp on it's own like a muscle tick. The AI file has not been altered or moved. The CA file has not been changed. I literally just opened it. I rechecked all the tags, handles, settings, etc. They seem to be correct and just as I left them. I don't see any new, out-of-place handles. I viewed it with the mesh on. It looks cool but doesn't help narrow down the problem. I turned off the "Eye Gaze" button and it warped permanently until I turned it back on. The eyes are not indpendent and part of the Head. (Note: Character is single unit — head, torso, legs all one object. "Head" layer is separate from "Body" layer. "Head" layer contains Eyes, Eyebrows, and Mouths. ) The left eye also warps during playback of previouls
Lip Sync doesn't work even with default characters from the program. Only surprised, smile, and neutral work. The Camera is calibrated, and my microphone is reading "visualy" with the green metor flashing on point with my voice. Yet there is no synchronized lip movement in between. Originally I attempted my own character puppet and once I ran into this situation, I attempted to start from scratch using what CH could already provide like Chad, Chloe, or Wampler. But once it had the same results I knew somthing was up. I restarted my computer just to make sure and still no change.
help! my sound works perfectly in all programs other than character animator. ALl my setttings are the same in there as they are in all other programs but no sound. PLEASE HELP! I have my sound settings in Character animator the same as they are in all other programs and sound works in all of those but not in character animator. I am at a loss and Adobe will not respond. Someone please go through steps together with me to fix this.
So for this rig im having a lot of weird issues:1. Eyes are warping when the character looks around2. Head floats around and body does not move at all3. I cant get the upper arms unstuck from torso4. Mouth chart wont respond at all5. Not sure how to get the hand to stay upright when I lift it up If anyone who could help me hammer out these issues, I would greatly appreciate it! Hi there I have a problem with character animator. I have to work in homeoffice and we use a VMhorizon client. This client offers live audio/video support which works fine in any other program like teams etc.. In character animator, only the audio support works fine. When i open the console <CameraTracker> <5> No Cameras Available. is displayed. Is there any possibility to solve this problem? BestSebastian
Hello,I've been successfully using Character Animator puppets in Zoom meetings and live streams, but I'm looking to try something different for a live event and so far I've had no luck. An actor I'm working with has a fairly old computer that would not run Character Animator well. With that and the state of the world today, my hope was that I could pull in his signal through a live stream (most likely Vmix Call), and send his webcam audio and video to Character Animator via NDI. This would let his face and voice drive the animation, but let my computer handle the processing. Has anyone done this? So far I've tried it on both my desktop and laptop, and while I can see Newtek NDI as an input option in CA on one of the systems, when I select it, I just get the ol' "Waiting for camera". Character Animator also just doesn't seem to see things like the OBS virtual camera, just the hardware camera, which foils my backup plan of running a recorded video of the actor
Character Animator version 22.5 is now available for download from the Creative Cloud desktop application. We're happy to announce Stater Mode, Quick Export, Auto-swapping artwork, and Leader/Follower behavior. What's new? Starter Mode: Starter mode for Character Animator is for everyone, and you don't need any subscription to use it. Starter mode offers a streamlined interface that performs, records, and exports characters. You can start animating through live performance, triggerable poses, and emotions. You don't have to be an expert rigger. Upgrade to Pro mode when you are ready. For more information, see Animate a Puppet with Starter mode. Differences between Starter and Pro mode Quick Export: You can export animations quickly in Starter mode and Pro mode. Export your animations directly in the H.264 codec using Quick Export. Choose a Match Source preset to automatically have settings like resolution and frame rate match your sequence, or select from
Hey y'all! So im new to this program and my head turn rig is having issue with the head warping as well as the body not moving at all. Anyone have a solution? Here are the links to my Ai and Character animator files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ck9OcdtHOxETrin9qMGoQB2d41Ek1p1w/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KM0b-fIYlfaxcXXC-L1gTdwZNO5Vb3NB?usp=sharing
Is CA a single core or multicore software? Seems like a single core based on what I see.Only using 25% cpu (1 cpu maxed at 4.4ghz) and CA is just bogged down. If it is single core, are there any plans to move it to multi to increase performance? I have so much PC, ram, spare m2 for scratch disk, and gpu all not being used and there's no such thing as a 8ghz cpu (which seems like what I'd need to make anything other than simplified puppets) run at 24fps. CA needs a massive performance upgrade or at least configure options for pros with highend machines. Suggest:-option to increase ram availability -option to add scratch disk -option to run all repeated behaviors created by duplicating shared puppets as one master control (i dont mean like the existing feature where you can group in controls, but rather something that prevents the backend from wasting any bandwidth on the fact that there are multiple repeated behaviors)
Hey Team. I am brand new to Ch. To create a birthday card for my sister, I purchased a rigged character called Jim the Business Icon and a Parallax-Background-with-Office-Workplace-Interior. The background seemed to have the objects in separate layers (perhaps a parallax feature?). One of the objects is an office chair. Can a person with advanced skills have a character take a seat in the office chair? If the character's eyeglasses are on their own layer, could the puppet "become trained" to remove or adjust the eyeglasses?
Hello,I use Character animator for work. Love it. However lately I have been having an issue with the dangle handle. When my character is not moving the dangle keeps shooting all over the place. I have no wind or anything like that going. I have dampening turned to max.In the example of hands that I swap via index offset Ive tried the dangle handle on different levels. The top level folder containing all of the hands. On individual hands within that folder. Ive restarted my programs and computer. Ive cleared the cache ( alt click the refresh scene button ) and the media cache via AE and Premiere. I have the latest versions of all programs.Any idea whats going on? How I can fix it?Thanks!
Can someone please tell me why my Character Animator switched to "Starter Mode"? I've been using it for a year with the full functionality of "Pro Mode." I don't believe my license has changed (but I'm checking with IT). Can someone please help? Thanks!
Hi Friends, Need help why my Character Animator does not show Live Output, can't configure to do performer mode and can't click the stream mode on the workspace. I am running the newest version 22.5 and have used it before with a 7 day trial more than 1 year before. I installed both the character animator and and the creative cloud and used several different emails so I can get the free 7 day trial but it does not give it anymore. Thanks, Janix
So I just turned on my CH CC 1st time in 2 weeks. My last session with some recorded parts aren't in there. What do I do ? Normally it is right where I left it off everytime I open it up. Did the update erase previous work ?? Help me please Character Animator friends , assoc. etc.
A solution that could really reduce the amount of arm versions would be to make an option to trigger a layer and move it to predetermined desination within a group. See diagram below. Imagine if you could move the arms from behind the torso to in front or even in front of face with a simple trigger. You guys can code that easily. I currently have to make my puppets sharable, then make 2 copies for this trick, and this is just one profile view. This bogs down the software with redundant behaviors unnecessarily and also makes for alot of extra work. This could also simplify body turns. With the above suggestion combined with a torso and leg swap set, you would only need 1 profile and it would lighten the load severely. Example: Arms+Head+BodyArms+Torso Arms
