Maybe I'm the only one this is happening to, but I usually find that the poses I've created do not usually show while scrubbing the timeline. Instead, the puppet reverts to the default rigged pose. It's only when I move the playhead or hit play that I can see the actual pose I've arranged. Otherwise, it's just the default pose. In other words, the whole idea of WYSIWYG is totally out the window after 30 years. I've been trying to be more positive with my posts lately, but I just can't help myself. I mean, WTF, Adobe? Really? This is not the way an enterprise application is supposed to behave. Get yourself together. This should be embarrassing for you. But I doubt it will even enter your radar. Sorry again, for not being positive. But I mean, COME ON. Sometimes it's like you're not even trying. You create this amazing technology but then you just drop it on the ground so the user experience is just
HelloI'm trying to use the new movement library as well as body tracking. But when I import my own puppet into a scene it's allways to big for the scene and when I try to reduce scale and move position to fit the puppet into the scene, the scene screen moves away from the center and becomes invisible (I have to reduce the zoom level to less than 5% to see it on the main screen as shown in my screen capture... It's doing that even with your puppets - simonthefox for instance in the screen capture, as soon as I put a puppet of mine in the scene, even after deleting it). Is there a special feature I don't know of, to recenter center screen ? Or is it a bug ?Thanks for your adviceIvan Screen capture : https://ibb.co/PYfzwmq
Hi there! I am making a Character Animator puppet and would like to know the best way for it to turn the head. It will need to turn 180 degrees and I can't figure out how to do that. The eyes will be static while the head turns, and it's meant to turn fast. Any recommendations?
when i take the CH file into AE with de dynamic link the auto swap arms do not show ?
Dear Team, when we record a scene using motion library and import that scene as a dynamic link to after effects or premier pro the character stands still in the part where motion library actions are used.please see the issue
I'm excited to try out the motion library - however, when I open my beta character animator app- motion library is not showing up either in the behaviors or in the panel. There is no update showing for my beta app. Maybe its not rolled to everyone yet?
CA (Beta) 22.6.0.53 (Video attached) I have a project that I've created with the fully rigged Armando puppet. It's been working great but I loaded up the project today and none of his arm triggers are animating properly and I'm not sure what happened, if I clicked something wrong or if it's a program error. I even created a new project, downloaded the Armando puppet fresh (no graphical changes) and imported him into the new project with the same results. All triggers appear to be trying to move the arm, but they all appear to be pinned at the wrist, though there are no fixed pins in the puppet arms. The only exception is the "Straight Forward" layer. The only difference between layers is that the Straight Forward is lacking an elbow to shoulder bone. I tried deleting that bone, just to check, but it didn't make a difference. Playing around in the poperties panel, in the Leader/Follower [Right Arm] if I change the "when" to "Off" it sort of fixes it, but now the defa
After using the beta version, it appears that the siphon client cannot be used for external output with the Mac version in the future. Do you know of an alternative means of projecting the puppet in OBS? It is possible to display via the NDI plugin, but I would like to know if there is another way.
Fun, fast, diverse character creation for everyone. No need to be an expert Photoshop or Illustrator user. And no need for rigging skills. Choose from a variety of character styles. Then with the simple interface start customizing the character by picking hair styles, skin tones, accessories, and much more, and seeing your character react to your movements and voice in real time. Creating a custom puppet using Puppet Maker Open Character Animator (Beta). Click the Puppet Maker tile or Make a puppet button on the Home screen or choose File > Open Puppet Maker. In the Style section, select the puppet’s base style. Move the mouse pointer horizontally across the style’s thumbnail (i.e., hover scrub) to view some of the possible looks that you can create. In the Customize section, choose different looks for the puppet,&nbs
Everyone can start animating now through live performance and triggerable poses and emotions.Introducing Starter mode, a streamlined interface that focuses on performing, recording, and exporting characters. No need to be an expert rigger. No need to have a Creative Cloud subscription to use. Upgrade to Pro mode when you are ready. We’re also introducing Quick Export. Easily generate a movie file of your animation. Quick Export takes the frustration and guesswork out of exporting. Just click the Quick Export button in the header bar, then click Export. Quick Export is available in both Starter mode and Pro mode (the existing, fully featured experience of Character Animator). Creating a free Adobe account and installing the Beta build Starter mode for Character Animator (Beta) can be used even if you do not have a Creative Cloud subscription. You still need to have an Adobe account. Also, note the system requirements, which are similar to the non
Lately whenever I try to add a transcript to refine my lip-sync, I get an error that it failed, so I revert to "Compute Take from Scene Audio", but end up with many extra and not quite accurate visemes in the process. I'm on Win10 with the 22.4 version of Character Animator. Any suggestions?
Hello Dave and Devs, I'm loving the new features of Character Animator Beta. Leader and follower feature is amazing and saved me a ton of time on my new character (making 10+ different arms can take some time.. I also love the background feature and i have some ideas to make it better. 1. Can you allow users to import custom backgrounds? I know we can import background as .puppets files but with big projects, it takes time to scroll through puppet files by name. Its so much easier going through pictures. I managed to get my custom backgrounds and colors to work by replacing the files in the "supported files" folder. It will only work when you rename your files with default file names. Warning to folks who want to try this: if you misspell any of the default files, you will get an error and none of the backgrounds will show up until you fix typos. 2. It would be awesome if you added more features to background such as being able to launch photoshop/AI to make quick edits,
β22.5(build20)Bug?In the current version, audio files registered to a trigger can be played using the trigger key. When I load the same project into the beta version, it seems to be registered in the trigger, but no sound is played. My Twitter report (Japanese)https://twitter.com/katsuya_oshiro/status/1525293696308379653 Thank You.
I have tried the new features of the beta version. As for before and after IK, the official video showed me how to use it.It is a great feature. However Leader/Follower behavior featureI don't know how to use "After Physical Properties".When is it used?Do you have a sample puppet that uses it?Is there a tutorial video on it?I am worried that it will come across well because I translated the Japanese.Thank You.
Hi, I have been trying to shorten the rigging time by only having right three quarter folder layer in the PSD then used the Edit --> Duplicate command to make a duplicate of the folder layer to create its flipped side. The issue I run into is that when I open the source PSD in Photoshop then add a new layer to the original folder layer, the new layer only gets added to the original folder but not to the duplicate folders. It will be nice if the duplicated folders also receive the new layers added to the source PSD file.
Inside my character, there are front, right quarter and left quarter layer folders for different views. The left quarter folder is made by duplicating the right quarter folder then scaling -100% for flipping. (The transformation is applied directly on the duplicate folder.) When I create a new swapset then create triggers for the 3 views, the thumbnail image of the left quarter trigger on the control window is not flipped (so it's identical to the right quarter's thumbnail). My understanding is that if you add a transformation to a layer then make a trigger, the transforamtion won't be applied to the generated thumbnail. As a result, the thumbnail will look inaccurate.
Auto-swap: Auto-swap is a new way for the Triggers behavior to trigger artwork in a pose-based way. Currently, if you want to switch between different pieces of artwork (for example, to use different arm drawings depending on the pose of the arm), you trigger the switch manually. With Auto-swap, you provide a set of different pieces of artwork for a part of a puppet, and Auto-swap will automatically determine which is best to display at any given time. Auto-swap can be used in conjunction with the Dragger behavior to trigger the artwork based on the best “fit” (lowest warping energy). Depending on the type of art provided to Auto-swap, this can enable several capabilities that were previously difficult to achieve, such as foreshortening, pose-specific deformations, and squash-and-stretch. There are also non-obvious creative uses of this as well, like the Aha Chicky example puppet. As you drag around and go from one pose to another the egg opens to show the baby chick. Essentiall
When I tried to use Starter Mode, it did NOT give me the triggers or take me to the second screen after I finished the recording. I also tried it with just importing my own audio. When I went to reset the workspace to "perform" the it showed the triggers, but they were all grayed out and could not get dropped into the timeline. I'm using a MacBook Air (M1, 2020), chip Apple M1, 8 gb of RAM, and Monterey Version 12.3. Any help you can provide is appreciated. Thanks!
When recording walking, the character is damaged
By simply clicking the 3D button on a chproj layer within AE, I was able to make the layer beneath it invisible. I've never had this experience before. See pics below. Anyone else having weird chproj in AE problems with the beta?
I've been using the Character Animator beta for a while on my M1 iMac and M1 13" MacBook Pro and it's been very smooth and responsive until now. This morning with the latest version of the beta installed both machines are having troubles such as:Stream from FaceTime camera is laggyStream from camera often drops out and disappears altogetherPressing 'Calibrate' button does not result in facial features being recognisedMoving / talking does not control the character Playing back existing project is very laggy / jitteryI am experiencing exactly the same behaviour on both machines. If I uninstall the beta and install the latest production version then performance is smooth as expected.
Hello, I need to know how I can rotate objects when they are falling down from the sky. I need they will be still rotating when they are falling. Have you some advice for me please? Thank you.
Live-perform character animation using your body. Powered by Adobe Sensei, Body Tracker automatically detects human body movement using a web cam and applies it to your character in real time to create animation. For example, you can track your arms, torso, and legs automatically. Get started now with an example puppet Download the Hopscotch_Body Tracking puppet. Open Character Animator (Beta), choose File > Import, and then select the downloaded .puppet file. Click the Add to New Scene button at the bottom of the Project panel to create a scene for the puppet. In the Camera & Microphone panel, make sure the Camera Input button () and Body Tracker Input button () are both turned on. If off (gray), click it to enable that input. Now try moving your body, waving your arms, and if you’re far enough from the camera to see your lower body, raising your feet. Body tracking is that simple! Additional example puppets are available for you to try out. Control body

I've encountered this a few times during rendering - Media Encoder freezes, memory usage of CA Beta goes to around 8 GB, and eventually Media Encoder returns an error box "OpenGL failed. Creative Cloud is required to resolve this but is missing."To begin with, CC is NOT missing. The current software doesn't allow using any of the software unless you are logged in to the Adobe servers, and CC is always auto-updating (which is another annoyance - CC will update in the middle of a render or complicated recording/rigging and shut down or slow/glitch the process. It would be extraordinarily useful to either be able to use the software without being logged in for a few days or the duration of a project, or else certain implementations should code for a process halt in CC). But I digress. The OpenGL failure requires a shutdown of all Adobe software while CC completely reinstalls itself. But that is a manual acceptance of the error return - I set a render to run last night and it should h
