Digital Editions

I have tried to download the program several times. The program only shows up as a shortcut and I receive the following message when I try to open:"The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. you may not have the appropriate permissions."Please help, thank you.

I borrowed a book from overdrive, then tried to sync it over to my ereader.  Upon clicking I keep on getting this error.1.  "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book [and] is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM). Because you previously deauthorized your eReader, you need to re-import the book using Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)". 2.  I tried to deauthorize, authorize, re-import and re-copy the file to my ereader through ADE, the same problem.3.  After trying more then 10 times, now i'm getting 3 copies of the book on my library even after i try to uninstall and install ADE.  I don't see this files on my mobile version of ADE.What is the easiest way to resolve these authorization issues?  It's very frustrating as this application of your's is not so easy to use and when you hit these types of issues, you end up unable to proceed. Can the Adobe engineers fine tune the authorization process?  It seems that there are some files which

First off, I have a Mac (OS 10.12.5) and a Nook Glowlight Plus ebook reader, which I'm beginning to understand is a bad, bad combination.When I downloaded Overdrive and then Libby onto my iPhone, my library suggested I sign on to ADE using my Overdrive account because that would make it easier to sync library books across my devices. Made sense, and it seems to work fine on my phone and my computer. But when I just tried to open a library book that I loaded onto my Nook, I had to sign on to ADE again, and then got a message saying, "Error opening book.. This book is not activated for current ADE user(s)." Sure enough, when I went to my Nook settings, I saw my e-mail address and a long, complicated letter-letter-and-number set as my ADE id, but when I went to my setting within ADE on my computer, I saw the same e-mail address, followed this time by "| Overdrive (urn:uuid:A-different-long-and-complicated-letter-and-number-set-than-appears-on-my-Nook) as what I assume is my ADE id, along

I tried to authorize ADE on my newish laptop this morning. It told me that I couldn't authorize ADE because there were too many devices already authorized. I looked at my old laptop, but ADE on that device was done anonymously (or whatever). I need ADE for my NOOK. I can't think of any other device I would have authorized ADE on in the 7 years I've had my NOOK. Is there a way to get a list of the devices? In one place on Adobe's website it says you can authorize two devices and another place said six devices. Either way, as far as I can tell, I have zero devices with ADE registered. Anyone have any guidance on how to figure this out?

My Kobo ereader will only download library books from Overdrive through ADE 3.0. Adobe is automatically downloading the latest version.  I cannot download library books from this version.  How do I stop the updating

Hi I installed Adobe digital edition 4.5 but the software does not seem to open so I can convert and authorise an ebook I purchased?Adobe digital edition appears on my program Apps but nothing happens if I double click on the software Icon.I reinstalled  3 times, restarted my computer - no change.**************Update I reinstalled to a different folder - and the software is now working!

If I download a book from my public library, and it shows up on my bookshelf in Digital Edition, how do I delete it from the bookshelf once I have synced it to my KOBO?   I highlight the book, and hit delete, and the book IS deleted.   However, the next time I go onto Digital Edition, the book shows up again

I purchased Adobe Digital content after having Support assisting me with the update my email address and therefore my Adobe ID. On my windows device logged on with my Adobe ID I have the new purchase but not the previous editions.  On my iOS devices I have all the previous editions but not the new purchase even though I have deauthorized and then authorized both my iOS devices.  What do I need to do to get the editions synchronized?

I have nearly 300 epub and pdf books previously controlled under Adobe Digital Editions (which is still downloaded to my laptop under Windows 10) and running on my Sony E-Reader. I backed up the books to my laptop where they now reside in my Digital Editions directory. My e-reader was stolen from my hotel room in Ethiopia. As Sony no longer support an e-reader I purchased a Kobo Aura One e-reader and using Calibre downloaded all my books to the Kobo. I now find that when accessing the e-pub or pdf files that do not have a Kobo e-pub tag, I encounter DRM. Fair enough. However when processing the authorisation procedure I am advised that my authorisation ID (my email address) that I was told to use by Adobe Customer Care person does not work. The system advises me that the book I am selecting does not relate to my authorisation ID. I have selected numerous books on the Kobo and the same issue is encountered. As a family, we have three separate 'Libby' (Overdrive) public library accounts, and want to use ADE to transfer library loans to a Kobo eReader registered to one of these (call them 'User 3').  However, the ADE activation on our PC is to 'User 1', and I can't work out how to transfer books borrowed to 'User 3' to the Kobo.  Do I need to de-authorize ADE on the PC and re-authorise for User 3?I must say that the workings of ADE, much like my experience with other Adobe programs, is very unintuitive and complex.

Most functions of ADE such as zoom, copy, search, sort etc. do not work. At least zooming would be necessary for convenient reading.This is my first experience with e-books,unfortunately a most disappointing one.D.

Letztes Jahr PC Crash mit Digital Edition und Lernunterlagen vom Fernstudium BTB drauf, jetzt musste ich Digital Edition neu installieren und kann keine meiner Dateien .acsm Dateien mehr öffnen, weder lesen, noch bearbeiten für die Ausbildung. Es heißt in Englisch,: E-Lic already fulfilled by another user.Bitte wie kann man das Ganze zurücksetzen, die PC Firma hat dem Rechner und meinem Account einen anderen Namen gegeben.Ich benötige dringend HilfeVielen Dank A.B.Sieper

After I returned a borrowed item the book is still displayed in the bookshelf. When I use the 'Remove from Library' function, the book dissapears. After a new start of ADE the book appears again.How can I delete the book from the bookshelf after I returned the borrowed book?

I am struggling with trying to download a library book to my Nook.  I have it on my ADE, but it provides and error message and won't let me put it on my Nook.  The error message is as explained in the topic.

I have 3 PC's and iPhone activated with the same Adobe ID and my books are not syncing between devices. Is there a manual sync or does refreshing initiate a sync? If so, it isn't working for me.

Goodmorning everyone,I downloaded and installed the program Adobe Digital Editions and I authorized it with my Adobe ID (opening the application and selecting the word "Help" at the top left of the page, then "Authorize computer" and entering my credentials), but when I try to see any acsm file (both from Medialibrary and from the Adobe website itself) I get the following errorI also tried to uninstall the program and reinstall it, but it no longer requires authentication and does not open the ebook anyway.I also tried to cancel the authorization to reinsert it, but this error appears to meCan someone help me to understand how I should be able to finally read the books?Thanks in advance

I am doing some testing and screenshots for my public library right now. After upgrading from ADE 1.7 to 2.0 on an authorized machine, I pressed CTRL + SHIFT + D in order to deauthorize. I then attempted to add the exact same Adobe ID to the computer and a get this error message."You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn’t previously been used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try again."This is bizzare and goes against my understanding of ADE. In 1.7, you could use the same Adobe ID on any combination of (6) device. This seems to be suggesting that my Adobe ID must be original each time one authorizes. My questions are:Does this really mean one needs to make a new Adobe ID every time you use CTRL + SHIFT + D?What happens to hold DRM ebooks on your computer that were tied to the Adobe ID that ADE 2.0 won't accept?If anyone has any insights on this, I'd love to hear them.
