My kobo keeps telling me that i'm not authorized to open the ebook. I believe I may have downloaded it under a different Adobe ID. I've now deleted that ID. I contacted reauthorized my computer, tried using both old and new Adobe IDs, redownloaded ADE. I'm using a Mac. I am trying to access an e-book which I have previously opened on Digital Editions on my old laptop. I have a new laptop and am trying to open this e-book on it and have tried both my Adobe ID and Booktopia Vendor ID (as this is where I bought it from) and it will not download/open. Can anyone help please? I need it for an assignment!

I have been using this Adobe Digital Edition 4.5 for a while, and I think it's basically safe to say this is the crappiest software in 2018.The software crushes basically every 2 mins (I am using Macbook Pro 2017) and becomes almost impossible to scroll down the pages. I used "almost" because sometime it gives you false hope of moving down 2 centimetres in 10 seconds and you secretly pray that this is not crushing again. When it crushes I have to force quit and reopen, and of course you have to memorize the page you were reading because obviously this thing is not keeping your history before it crushed.I have been fine putting up with this software because, well it's free. But it's significant hurting my reading experience and I couldn't even finish a book of 200 pages in 3 months. It's so painful that I am willing to register an account on Adobe and spend 10 mins writing this just to tell you how much this software sucks.The only reason I am using this software is because the book I a

A few hours ago I posted on an old thread about this issue, but then thought perhaps since that three-year-old thread had been answered, that it might never be seen, therefore I am creating a new question  Three weeks ago I had a total crash on my computer.  It was not repairable and I needed a new hard drive.  I have tried for the last five days to load Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 on my new hard drive.  I have tried at least 7 or 8 times to install it.   ADE downloads and installs but will not open.  Instead it immediately goes to a black screen that says 'downloading  library' and runs for hours and hours.  Prior to this, it says that they have found books I had in the program and do I want to migrate them to the newly downloaded program? .  It doesn't matter whether I say 'skip' or 'migrate' it does the same thing.   It is not possible to shut down the window that says 'downloading library....' and nothing else in the progra

At the end of 2017 the hard drive of my computer crashed that the data was eventually retrieved at the beginning of 2018.I had one E-book on "Adobe Digital Editions" at the time which I think I bought in 2016. I had not looked at it regularly.I bought a further book in 2018 which I can access through the software installed on my new hard drive. I have now actually discovered the previous book which is on a backup drive and I have tried to retrieve and display this book using the software. However, it will not reload claiming that the "vendor account is not associated with the item I am trying to open"What does that mean!!I don't think I have any records as to the organisation from whom I bought this e-book back in 2016.

Hi all, I would like to use ADE for our entire office, a single person will purchase digital papers and the rest of the team can read it. Buying one copy for each user is not a problem but it needs to be as simple as possible and most of them are free. The easiest way we thought to do this was to use a single account for everyone which somehow worked  months ago, now we get the "limit of number of machines allowed per ID reached". And now I can see that there is a limit to 6 activations, we are ~30 people. Is there a way around this or simply a better solution to manage it all from a single account somehow or should we start looking at other products. Is there a paid version of ADE which would support this. Please help us out!Thanks!

My library uses Adobe Digital Editions to download digital books to my computer.  I then download from Digital Editions to my Nook e-reader.  Suddenly, I am unable to download books from my library loan page to ADE.  I have used this method for years without a problem.  The ADE page appears but there is nothing (no books) that are on it.  2 libraries where I have cards have tried to solve this problem.  I also took it to a technician who was unable to resolve.  He removed all cookies and said there were no firewalls standing in the way.  What to do now?

I've had ADE 4.5 on my laptop for 6 months. It worked fine until last week. Now it won't let me click on my kobo icon, it just crashes. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that didn't work. I cycled through 1.7 (which didn't connect to the acms from my library), 2.0, 3.0, and 4.5, but none of them connect. I also sometimes get error #2038. On my husband's Mac it works fine, but I would like to be able to use my own laptop.On my previous computer I used 3.0 for 4 years, until I had to downgrade to 1.7 to stop it crashing. This time that hasn't worked for me. AdobeCare on Twitter told me to use the online chat, but they couldn't help me. They told me to look on forums because the "experts" respond 24/7. So far they haven't responded to any of the other discussions I have looked at, so I'm pretty frustrated. Any tips?

my ADE will not now open in windows 8.1 after I agree to change computor I get nothing. I have tried running with administrator but no results. Any ideas.

When lending an e-Book from a library, a file URLLink.acsm downloads. When doubleclicking this file, the ADE downloads the contents of the eBook. In the end ADE does not react to anything except "Info about Adopbe Digital Editions". So the application has to be ended by the operating system.After opening the application again and clicking on the book-icon in the library, the applications hangs again and has to be ended by the operating system.After some repetitions the book can finally be opened.This has been like this for many years (several ADE-Versions and Mac operating systems including the newer ones Mac OS HighSierra and ADE Version 4.5.9.184862 and reproduced on several Macintosh computers).Are there better options without a sticking/crashing application?

I have not tried to transfer an epub book from the library to my Nook in months.  I used to have no problem.  Now I am unable to do it!  I get two error messages:  "user not activated" - so I fixed that ( I think!) and then when I tried to transfer again, a "CE_copy not allowed" type of message.  Several questions:  is the glowlight supported?  do I use Adobe Digital Editions to do this (like I used to) or is it now Overdrive?  when I download the book from the library, it shows up as an Overdrive file...do I need to "open with ADE" instead?  That seemed to work and the epub showed up in my ADE library, but I wasn't able to transfer it to my Nook.  Any suggestions out there!  Help!

Hello,I recently downloaded a book/guide to Adobe Digital Editions on my iPad Mini 4 and noticed that the pages don't fill the screen - there is a large white margin to the right (see attached photo). I reached out to the publisher as I thought this might of been an issue on their end. He said the same problem had been reported many times and that it was a problem within Adobe Digital Editions. He encouraged me to report this to Adobe, so here I am.Any way Adobe can get this fixed?Thanks.

Hello, I have a purchased book from "Google books". When I read online, everything is fine, but when I put the “PDF download”, I get the “acsm” file and open it in Adobe Digital Editions, I see errors in the text as if it happened with inaccurate recognition, but as far as I understand this drm PDF The file is already rasterized. So the question arose: Adobe Digital Editions already receives a broken rasterized PDF or receives it as a text PDF and itself rasterizes, while errors appear in the fonts.P.S. I contacted Google, they said that they checked my case and problem in Adobe Digital Editions, and offered to contact Adobe. The situation is basically this: My fiance and I use a shared "family library" with Google Play Books, so that each of us can read an ebook no matter who purchased it (you use Google's app to read them). We have two separate accounts, but the books (and other media) we buy can be viewed by either account. I have Kobo e-reader. If I want to read a book on it, I just download that book from Google Play and authorize it for the reader using Adobe Digital Editions. Simple enough.Now my fiance likes my reader so much wants to get one of his own, and we have questions.-Will we be able to "share" our library of ADE formatted books? Could we link accounts somehow or should I just use my ADE account for his reader too? Is this even allowed?-Can each book be authorized for two e-readers at a time? If not can we just change a book so it's authorized for the other person?As far as I can tell, Adobe has nothing to say on this issue. Any advice is welcome.
