Dear all, I am currently reading, hignlighting and annotating an .acsm file borrowed  from a library.  The rent will expire in a couple of days. If I renew the borrowing, will I found my annotation again?thanks in avance for your insights.

OK, I will try to keep this as clear as possible. Here's the circumstances:I have a Kobo, and I use Adobe Digital Editions to put ebooks I've borrowed from the library on it. I've done this for years. Then my Kobo died, and I just used the overdrive app on my phone for library books.Last year moved, switched internet providers, and lost my old email. Luckily, I had a shiny new gmail account that I changed almost everything to, and everything has been great. I changed my Adobe ID to my new email.I got a new Kobo a couple months ago, and the first couple library books I put on it were fine.Then, I transferred a batch of library books from computer to Kobo, and I got a message on the Kobo saying that 'My reader is not authorized to open this book... re-authorize your e-Reader with your Adobe ID using Adobe Digital Editions'. Fine. Stuff like that happens.So I went into ADE and find that the account it is authorized to is my OLD email. And because that is no longer a valid Adobe login, I c

Hej, I have a problem. Every time I try to open one of my books, I get this message:Someone can help with this?

I am in my 70s and through my many years since Uni I have purchased thousands of books. I even argue with my wife as to where to house them all. My biggest mistake was to buy an ACSM book from Adobe and if ever Adobe became the last agency to publish books, I swear by everything that's holy that I would never ever buy another book as long as I live. I would rather do without the love of my life, BOOKS, than put up with this Adobe incompetence and BS. Not even an acknowledgement by Adobe that there is a problem; what arrogance!  I even tried writing directly to support@adobe.ca but my email was returned undelivered. Am I the only one who feels so  strongly? Am I the only one who is so frustrated and angry?

What can I do?

Windows 10, ADE 4.5.7.Purchased books on Google, did EPUB download, which gets me a .acsm file for each book in my Library dir.  Usually clicking on that file will invoke download of the EPUB file with ADE, but now nothing happens, no error message.  The ADE icon on the bottom taskbar blinks slowly, but nowhere can I find an error message or popup window.I have tried erasing authorization and reauthorizing, but the erasure fails with the errmsg: "Unable to Erase Authorization.  Please try after some time".  I have signed into adobe.com with this password successfully and copied and pasted it (thus no spelling error).  It sure is wonderful how the whole epub sales system rotates around marginally supported and fragile Adobe product.  DRM is a PITA.Message was edited by: Stewart Dean

I purchased an E-book and it downloaded to Adobe Digital Editions.  I had no issues opening the book when it first downloaded, but am now receiving an error message whenever attempting to open the E-book.  I was instructed to Deauthorize and then reauthorize the computer.  After deauthorizing the computer, I am now unable to authorize the computer.  Simply nothimg happens when I try to authorize it again (even when I press Ctrl+Shift+U).  Can someone provide me with any instruction?

I have never had this problem before with Adobe Digital Editions, but since yesterday the books that I download do not appear in ADE. I have tried several times to close the program and try again, I restarted my computer, but the same problem remains. I tried downloading different books, the same way I always do, and it still doesn't work. I have Windows 10.Another member posted the same questions a few years back, and someone gave the following answer :Closed Digital Edition.Rename My Digital Edition in My Digital Edition.old under My Documents.Restart Digital Edition.Open the eBook again.This seemed to have resolved the problem for them but I have tried doing the same thing and it doesn't work.Thanks in advance!

I've purchased a book from Google Play, I downloaded the acsm file and tried to open it. ADE opens but that's it - nothing else happens. The book is not in my ADE  library and no error message appears. So I tried to open directly from ADE using the File menu. selected the acsm file in my download folder and again - nothing, no error message, no book no nothing.Whilst my library on ADE is still populated with titles none of them will open - ADE doesn't recognise themOk I think, I'll de-authorize and reauthorize. I can't. I click on 'Erase Authorization' enter userdID and password and get the message 'Adobe can't unauthorize at this time please try again later' (or words to that effect)So I've uninstalled ADE, downloaded from the ADE website again and reinstalled. I once created an Adobe ID to be able to authorize eBooks. I never changed the Adobe ID email address or password. Now, years later, while transferring content to a new computer, the Adobe ID is no longer accepted by Adobe, neither in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) nor for access to the accounts.adobe.com/ page.The problem here is that I no longer use the email address used for the Adobe ID. Because the email account no longer exists, I am not able to receive password resets. Adobe is TOTALLY UNPREPARED to help in this situation. Of course I can prove that I posssess and purchased the eBooks. Therefore, there should be a way to restore my Adobe ID and let me use the eBooks.The option to synchronize content can not even be activated in Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.7, and the option to auhorize eBooks without an Adobe ID comes with negative consequences (you basically have to give up ownership of the eBooks).The Adobe support chart person directed me to this forum. Removed an old drive which had windows 7 and installed new drive with windows 10.When open digital editions books are there but they will not open. Message is simple books can't be opened.I assume this has something to do with the authorization because I assume it recognizes this as a different computer.How do I get around this issue?

I tried to click on the installed book but it say "unable to open the book. Errors were encountered in this item" in Adobe Digital Editions 4.5. I tried all the books in my library and it all having the same issue. Let's say I change my Adobe ID in the Adobe ID account. Will ADE automatically incorporate that change or would I have to do something? By the way, can you use any string for the Adobe ID or does it have to be an email address?

I've bought an ebook from an italian site (libreriauniversitaria.it) and iv'e downloaded it. The file extension is .acsm, and the site says that's "my personal key to download the ebook". The ebook is protected with DRM (Digital Right Management). The site also says I have to open the ebook with digital editions and it will be ok.So I've installed Digital Editions and I gave the authorization to open the file without signing with my adobe ID. But when I open the file it gives me this (see the picture): it says "impossible to download. Error in recovering the license. Communication problem with the license server. E_LIC_LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR."I've tried to unistall the program and to install it again (like 5 times!!) but now the program doesn't open anymore the window in which I can insert my adobe ID.PLEASE HELP ME resolve this!!Many thanksdI

I download ACSM files from two different lending libraries to my computer.  I transfer the  acsm files from my downloads folder to the same ADE installed on my computer.  The acsm files from one library (Open Library) are  transferred without difficulty.  The acsm files from the other library (my public library running on OverDrive) are not accepted by ADE; an error message appears saying "Server's communications problem: E ADEPT_IO.  This did not occur until about a year ago.  Until then ADE handled the files from the public library wthout any problem.  The only 'external' difference  between the files is that he pulic library files are named for the book title with a number, while the other files are all named URLLink. How come ADE accepts acsm files from one source and not from an another? 

I successfully downloaded library books a couple weeks ago and transferred to my Nook GlowLight Plus. Now when I download the .acsm file from Overdrive, it opens Digital Editions like it's going to work, but the book never actually shows up. Since it never gets changed to an epub format, I can't transfer to my Nook. I have tried with multiple library books. The authorization info in ADE looks correct, it has my Adobe ID and my OverDrive account.I have tried renaming the My Digital Editions folder under Documents and that didn't work. I didn't see a "restore" folder in there to rename either.Please help!

I had the problems everyone had over the week end and as suggested I deleted and installed again the app but still the library is empty, if I try to download books I get E_ACT_NOT_READY and I can't even try to deauthorize and authorize again the device as it says it's temporarily not possible.. What should I do?

Hola, estoy intentando autorizar un archivo ACSM con la más reciente versión de Adobe Digital Editions. Meto mi ID y le doy a autorizar y me sale el siguiente mensaje:Digital Editions no ha podido conectarse al servidor de activación. Asegúrese de que está conectado a Internet.He comprobado el Firewall, he descargado el archivo y justo después la activación, he desactivado el antivirus, me funciona perfectamente el Internet. Ya no sé qué más hacer. Por ayudarme, porque sino pierdo el dinero invertido en este libro.Una de las veces me ha dejado autorizar, pero se queda autorizando (lo dejé 1 hora) y dudo que tarde tanto. I have numerous students who can now not access their ebooks - just yesterday they could.     They have deleted the App, and thought reinstalling it would work but now they don't see it as available.   I saw in another post last night that their was an outage.Please let me know what to say to my students.

Hallöchen!Ich habe eine (Wahrscheinlich) ganz blöde Frage. Folgendes:Wenn ich meine Bücher online bei der Bibliothek ausleihe und runterlade, werden die ja normal mit Adobe Digital Editions geöffnet, damit man sie aufs ebook laden kann. War ja auch noch nie ein Problem und bis Samstag ging das definitiv auch noch. Seit gestern werden Bücher aus der Bibliothek aber gar nicht mehr angezeigt. Also laut Bib hat man sie runtergeladen, aber bei Digital Edition kommt nix... und es hat sich ja nichts geändert. Hat jmd eine Idee, was ich machen könnte???Wäre dankbar für jede Hilfe!Und schon mal Danke im Voraus!!!Liebe Grüße,Angela

wie kann ich die Adobe id zurücksetzen um sie auf neuen Geräten zu nutzen

I installed ADE app. to my android smart phone, entered the Adobe ID and password but after pressing the athorize button there was no action from the app. ... like pressing the blank button. O tried the same procedure with my android tabled and it happened just the same.I tried deleting the app. , even with root delezin and installing it again but no difference.After few hours I created the another Adobe ID and same again. Any ideas what's the problem?
