SYNOPSIS: Nessus requires complete version string information to be written to the Windows registry to ascertain if an application has a known vulnerability. The version of ADE which remediates APSB19-16 does not present full version string information, and thus vulnerability scanning tools falsely claim it is vulnerable to APSB19-16FIX: The Adobe Digital Editions Product Team needs to release an updated installer for ADE, which correctly inserts the full version data into the registry, so that Nessus can correctly determine the version, and thus differentiate from a vulnerable or non-vulnerable version. Also note that the metadata on the DigitalEditions.exe file also claims that it is 4.5.10.0, so that should be updated as well. (Basically, if the About dialog says the version is 4.5.10.186048, don't tell other system components that the version is something different, such as 4.5.10.)DISCUSSION:Adobe Digital Editions v4.5.10.186048 is detected by Nessus as being vulnerable for APSB19

Ellos dicen que para leerlos debo utilizar ADE, una vez alli utilizar el provedor BajaLibros, mi ID y contraseña que tengo con ellos.   Pero al hacerlo, PRIMERO ellos NO aparecen, SEGUNDO, me dicen que cree un id con ustedes pero yo ya poseia uno, así que lo utilicé y una vez que he autorizado a mi equipo, el libro NO SUBE, me aparece este mensaje en ADEE_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USERquisiera saber si el problema es de Bajalibros.com o de Ustedes. Hi, I have been struggling setting up Adobe Digitial Editions to download books onto my Kobo. When I first created an Adobe ID, I didn't realise it hadn't set the password (as I followed through with Google account and it did it automatically). Then when I was trying to download a book, it said my username or password was incorrect (I now know this is due to a password not being set). As that was not working, I followed through with the second option - continue without the authorisation ID and the book downloaded. I then found out that logging in this way is not compatable to send to ereaders such as my Kobo and that you have to log in the other way. I then looked up how to un-authorise my account and then set it up properly - after creating a new password on the Adobe website. This then worked, however it would not let me download the book due to "E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER". I now realise this is because I did not return the book before I removed the

Hello, I am trying to authorize my computer with Adobe Digital Editions (mostly to authorize my ereader for library books) - but it will not work. I have tried changing my password to exclude special characters (as suggested in a previous topic) - it did not work. I am on MacOs 13.4.1. The credentials are good - I have tried logging out and back in using the same username / password (my adobe account).Any ideas?

Hello, I have used Digital Edition for some time but recentle ran into an authorization issue with a DRM ebook from Avid Technologies.  When I either attempt to authorize the computer or open the eBook the login screen appears and I receive the messages attached below.  Any advice or suggestions would be fantastic.Thanks

Hi Team, we have installed Adobe Digital Edition of 4.5.11.187303 installed on our workstations.but we are seeing 4.5.11.0 in the properties DigitalEditions.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions 4.5\DigitalEditions.exe) please confirm if this is an expected thing. when looking at programs and features we are seeing 4.5.11 not the full version please advice  when we launch the ADE application and click on help and check the version there then we have the right version 4.5.11.187303. not sure how to detect the version from sccm or with tenable.

Hello, There is a vulnerability associated with older versions of Adobe Digital Editions.  When updating to the latest version the .exe file properties do not reflect the version installed and instead stay on 4.5.11.0.  It should read the actual version installed when going to the help/about screen, 4.5.11.187303.  Because vulnerability scanners such as Qualys rely on that version to check if a system has a vulnerability this is creating a false positive 100% of the time.  It also doesnt reflect the correct version in Programs and Features.Please update the file properties to reflect the actual version installed.

QID 372504 detection logic states that DigitalEditions.exe version 4.5.11 is vulnerable to APSB20-23. However the most recent update available on the ADE download site, 4.5.11.187303 does not update the main executable's file version (still just 4.5.11) so Qualys is still detecting the old vuln even with the new software installed. Are there any new software releases coming that will update the DigitalEditions.exe file version?

looking for the latest version of adobe digital edition ver 4.5.11.187658 , the download page for the latest version is for ver 4.5.11.187303 and not the latest version. Tenabel is recommending to update to version 4.5.11.187658 to remediate a vulnerability on version 4.5.11.187303 and can not find the update nor the updater in the app wont update. For starters the main download page at https://www.adobe.com/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html still points to an older build that has vulnerability CVE-2023-21582. Secondly, once you find the updated application, the installer for the patched version does not set the correct version number in the registry which has been a problem for every 4.5.x version of ADE. The installer sets the version number to 4.5.11.0 in the registry which means all security scanning applications see the application as an older version what has security vulnerabilities. The ADE application version needs to be updated to 4.5.12 as build numbers should be used for internal development and not customer facing applications. A security patch should increment the minor version number. See: https://semver.org/ Please repackage the application so that the internal version number reflects a minor build update and fix the installer to set the correct application version number

Has anyone had issues with Tenble not being able to detect updates to Adobe digitial Editions? The issue: Tenable says you need to update Adobe Digital Editions from 4.5.11.0 to 4.5.11.187303.However, if you open Adobe Digital Editions, click Help > About... you will find that you have the correct version. Further digging: If you look at the DigitalEditions.exe File properties ("C:\Program Files\Adobe\ Digital Editions" on 32bit Systems), you will see that it still shows 4.5.11.0.So Tenable is right to think you have a vulernable version installed. Now on to the fun part. If you review the Adobe Security Bulletin, Adobe Security Bulletin, it says File enumeration (host or local network) under Vulenerbility Details. I am being forced to remove this application from all workstations because the false positive, but I cant for the life of me understand why the developers do not update the file version on the .exe during updates. Has anyone else ran in

I installed ADE 4.5 recently and during the authentication my laptop fell out. After relaunching my laptop ADE is starting, but immediately closes.I tried already several thing, but nothing worked- Installing v3.0- Re-installing v4.5 and also changing my documents Due to to short time the program is active I can't do anything in the program itself

I'm using an iPad. I'm reading an ebook I downloaded on Adobe Digital Editions. When I highlight text and select "share" from the pop up menu bar nothing happens.

Hola, he comprado un ebook online en la Uned. Un curso de francés. Para abrirlo hay que hacerlo con adobe digital editions porque tiene protección DRM de adobe. El curso (ebook) incluye contenido con audio. En mi pc con windows 10 comencé instalando la versión 4.5 de Adobe Digital Editions y era incapaz de abrir el archivo. Daba error. Instalé la versión 3 y ahora sí los abre, pero no reproduce los audios. Junto al icono para reproducirlos aparece un mensaje que indica "Lo sentimos, parece que tu dispositivo no permite la reproducción de audio" ¿me podéis ayudar? Gracias
