I'm just exploring Dn.If I have got this right, it provides just 2D images of 3d created objects? In other words, it doesn't create models I can export into After Effects?Regards,Graham
Hello,Total 3D newbie here, I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. So I've been trying since yesterday to create a simple mockup of a picture book I illustrated with Dimension. I bought the 3D model from Turbosquid (after subscribing to Adobe Stock and purchasing a book model from there didn't work because of the problem described here: Can't Apply Decal to .OBJ model after import and I spent way too much time finding that out, unsubscribing and getting my money back, although the problem is obviously known since October, ahem) and it seems I can apply a decal only to one page at a time but not to both pages – neither with the double spread as one image nor as two separate images. Is there again a problem with my model or am I overlooking something here? Thanks in advance!Anneke
Hi all,I was wondering if it was possible to create the appearance of a cut out surface on a model, without having to create an entirely new model in some other program? I've attached what I'm trying to recreate (this was done in Illustrator); I'm trying to cut out the X logo from the front surface of the outer slip/case, so the material on the box underneath shows through. I've tried a few things like importing .pngs as materials/decals but the empty areas are never picked up as transparent.I appreciate any and all help, cheers!
This needs to be on Adobe Stock. Where is it? Could you upload one?
Hello,I'm new to Dimension and for some reason, recently, when I import a background image the viewport remains blank. I had a corrupted scene that crashed so I tried re-installing, but that did not work. Any idea why this is happening? I can see the imported image under the canvas properties. Thanks.
Do you plan to import others file formats ? (eg : Keyshot files)My designer works on keyshot & I would like to keep all textures stuff included !
I'm not getting any response when I try to render preview my project, it's just blank. Also when I try to actually render a final nothing happens. I just did a simple box with a texture on it to see how it looked since I've just downloaded the program, but this is all I get when I hit render. (see pic)
Hello! I am pretty new to sketch up and dimensions so I am in need of a little help. I am creating my models in sketch up and I am wanting to render them in Dimension, anytime I import an obj. file into Dimension from Sketch Up I am getting a little message saying..."We have detected that the model has out of bound UVs. Out of bound IVs may affect the way materials and graphics are applied to the model. For ideal results ensure all UVs are in the 0-1 space."So when I import my file I can't apply my graphics it just turns out grey? I have had play around on both sketch up and dimension and just can't seem to find the solution, can anybody help me? I'm really stuck!
Is it possible to create scripts for Dimensions CC?
I am exploring the possibility of using CAD files to generate renders of products and I am trying to find resolutions to 2 issues:1 - WIreframesI can't find an option to view the wireframe of the .OBJ file in Dimension CC, and ideally export a psd. Does anyone know if this is possible?2 - PolygonsOn some of the CAD files I have, elements are relatively low poly, is there any in built function that would allow me to smooth parts of an object.Example:Thanks.

I would love to see this program as an all-in-one 3D program for creatives that implements the similar workspace and keyboard shortcuts of other adobe programs. Does anyone know if Adobe plans to add more modeling features to Dimension to make it an alternative to Cinema 4D or 3DS Max?
I'm having a problem lighting this plant. Below is how it looks in model design modeAnd then when I go to render preview it shows some of the leaves as blackEven when I rotate the light 180 degrees the black stays the same. The leaves are all the same material. I put an all green decal on one leaf and it was also applied to all the other leaves. Even when I get rid of the sunlight and just use environmental light the black still shows up in the render even though I can see the green leaf texture fine in design mode. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
So I updated to macOS High Sierra Version 10.13 and Dimension opens with the into screen and I click "get started" and then that rotating blue ball goes on for eternity and it won't go further. This is my info. Is my computer too old??? It is only a 2015. I am not sure what to do. Plz help.
So Adobe updated a bunch of software just now through their CC service... and now Dimension CC is in Japanese!! Any clue how to get it back to English?
Hi all,I'm currently busy with a packaging design project. Is there a way to import my own packagings in Adobe Dn. I designed a serie of shampoo bottle's and matching cartons in Solidworks. But the main problem is that i can't make a .obj file directly. If I export to a stl and then by using meshlab to a .obj, i get one object instead of a bottle and a bottlelid. Which have a different color ofcourse.Need your help!
Hello awesome Adobe fans! I have a fun questions for you. I work for a cup manufacturer and we are stoked on this program. One thing in particular we are hoping to show is our ability to make crystal clear plastic cups. Our top knish in the world of plastic cups is our ability to give clarity in our cups so the cup is see through and/or have inside print. When trying this out on dimensions we yet to have any adobe credits for the stock site that has a "clear plastic" material but, there is a glass featured. When applying the glass feature I was able to make the obj file look very close to our clear plastic cup but, when I go to apply the art it's no where to be seen on the rendering. Any suggestions or is this something that's going to be looked at in a upcoming update?
Hi all,I just started using Dimension CC today, but the UI is all blurry.. See the picture:I do not know if this is used for less cpu/gpu usage, but its bothering me a lot. Dimensions crashes on opening from CC on my Mac 10.12.6
I have a problem. Endless saving Already 20-30 minets trying to save project.
some of the obj files around cause Dimension to lock up when you try to import themCrawler | 3D Resources this model can be imported to Dimension if you open it in Photoshop first and export it as an wavefront obj
i have a rectangle 3d model with rounded edges and i have applied the texture i want for the rectangle, then when i proceed to add a 2d image as a decal to the 3d model it doesnt just apply once instance of the decal it applies the decal to all sides of the rectangle. i only need one instance of the label to wrap around the top and the side of the 3d object. what am i doing wrong?
No workspace. No visible objects. The program reinstalled, reinstalled, did not help. What could be the problem?
