Dimension

Hi, I have imported a .obj-file that I have exported from photoshop. But when I import the obj in Dimension I get a blank scene. The layers however are in place...

I'm trying to render a splash to be like water. The material type I have selected is glass, however it either looks like white ceramic or tin foil depending on which lighting environment I give it. You can also see on the image below that where the splash is in front of the cans, it appears see through. But when the splash is away from the can, it colours in a 100% opacity so you can't see through to the background imageDoes anyone have any ideas on making this look more real?Thanks!

Estoy tratando de hacer un logotipo en 3d, esta hecho en illustrator y lo trasladé a Maya 3d para convertirlo en OBJ.Mi modelo en Maya se ve tal y como lo espero, pero al momento de importarlo a Dimension la geometría luce mal.¿Alguien pudiera ayudarme con la correcta forma de lograrlo?

Hi all,Learned about this fabulous program at the Adobe MAX conference a few weeks ago and want to try and use it but the models that are provided in the program won't work for what I need. I found an image on iStock but it won't let me import it (tried as .jpg and .png), it is greyed out. In order to use this program, do I have to use images from Adobe Stock 3D? I am not a 3D designer so don't have access to a program to save as wavefront|obj. Tried searching for the answer but not finding something that actually makes sense. Anyone point me in the right direction? I am looking to bring in a blank open magazine and add my own graphics to it, if that helps. (I know there is one on Adobe Stock but I have to purchase it and don't want to purchase if it doesn't work, need to try it out before i can get approval to purchase).Please let me know if this doesn't make sense and thanks for any help you can offer.Jill

Hi,I work with packaging on a daily basis creating visuals mostly by taking an actual photograph and distorting screen shots on each panel.Dimension CC could seriously save me time by the looks of it. I was using Felix the other day and I was able to select individual panels, I can't seem to do that in Dn CC.I can apply decals as PNGs which is ideal and if there was a scale to fit panel option that would be even better.Can anyone help with...1. Selecting individual panels in Dn CC?2. Applying Decals individual Decals to each panel?3. Creating a transparent window on the top of the box?(possibly create this as transparent PNG)4. The ability to send this render as a file that can be rotated and viewed all around?I know this is a lot to ask and it's pretty new to me but this would seriously help my workflow and help A LOT with presentations and product approvals.Any feedback is much appreciated.Thanks

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to CC Dimensions. I'm under the impression that my graphics card is NOT rendering out my file. Is this the norm? I thought i saw in Project Felix the option to choose what to render with. I could be wrong. But anyway, I'm 9 hours into a render and it's only at 57% and the reason I don't think my GPU is doing it is because I have over clocking software that measure my GPU and it's showing performance that of an on board graphics or something. And if the GPU doesn't do the rendering, how can I get faster times? Can anyone chime in?

Ich habe den CC Manager installiert und bin angemeldet. Nach den letzten updates habe ich auch Dimension installiert. Diese Programm wird allerdings ständig "unerwartet beendet". Ich konnte Dimension somit überhaupt noch nicht öffnen. Auch nach Löschen und Neuinstallation die gleichen Ergebnisse.Betriebssystem OS High Sierra, Intel Core i7, 16 GB, ATI Radeon HD 5750.

What settings should I set to export .OBJ format  from 3dmax 2018?Default settings doesn't work now. When I import .OBJ to demension document nothing happens.

Am I understanding what this app is supposed to do?  Can I not import my own artwork and use that?    I thought that was the whole idea ! ! Please tell me I am misunderstanding.

Dimension can only be used with a background images that have the horizontal line, in the same hight as the 3D object, if you want to have a realistic shadow, from the 3D object on the ground or table etc.It should be possible to offset the Ground Plane, without changing the horizon:If I move the object under the ground plane, the object disappears. If the object is floating above the ground plane, there is no shadow under the object and the composition will not look realistic.If you move the ground plane with the horizontal line tool, the perspective is wrong.Possibility to add more ground planes:On a background image, let's say you want to place two 3d objects in two different heights, with visible shadows. For example, a 3d model on the floor with a shadow on the floor and one 3D model on a table with shadow on the table.Is there a solution to this or have I overlooked something?/peter

I want to be able to use Adobe Dimension projects in my website.  However, most importantly be able to rotate the 3D objects within the website. Is that something I can do fairly easy?

Hey guys,I've been having issues opening previous projects. Dimension gets stuck on the dialog box where it shows the loading progress. It says that it's 100% loaded, but nothing appears in my scene or in the window.The project in question contains 3D models that I made with UVs. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.I could remake the project, but I'd rather not have to do that every time.Thanks!

Hello to everyone.I'm not a 3D designer. Just an illustrator learning 3D basics. I made this 3D model with PS, exported with “Export 3D Layer > File Format: Wavefront/OBJ”. In the Finder preview seems fine (fig.1) But once imported in Dimensions I can't see it (fig.2). The file name appears in the Environment panel, the object position is written as if it's really in there but I can't see it. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me please? Thank you!

Dimension CC keeps crashing ( doesn't start up ) on my mac Pro mid 2012 , I don't have any problems running Modo 3d or blender why doesn't adobe dimension work ?

Hello everyone, sorry if it isn't the right place for this particular issue.I recently have a new clean Windows installation and something weird is happening (had the same problem in the old installation) with Dimenssion CC icon in the taskbar. I tried to reset the Explorer process to refresh the taskbar but the icon does not change.Any ideas? someone here has the same problem?this is the ONLY icon that is broken (small or big in the taskbar)Thanks!

I'm trying to match furniture to an image of an interior of a room. I used the vanishing point filter in photoshop to make the image of the room into just three grids. I've tried changing the "field of view" slider in the camera perspective tab in Dimension so the lines for the floor and ceiling and the vertical lines on the walls match the grids on the 3d objects. I've attached the file below. If anyone can get the two sets of grids to line up I'd be greatly appreciative. When I tried creating an object in Dn, rendered it, and then clicked on "Open in Photoshop", Dn opened up PsCs6, rather than PsCC2018.  I have both versions of Ps, but I only use PsCC2018 these days.  Why did Dn choose PsCS6 rather than PsCC2018?  I could not find a relevant option in Dn's Preferences ...  How can I tell Dn to always open my new object in PsCC2018?

I was looking through the adobe stock materials, models and lights and they look great but are super expensive. Does anyone know of a dimensions cc user community that has emerged where you can share user created models, materials and lights. I could potentially see spending 20 or 30 dollars a month for unlimited access or at least access to several (50 plus) assets a month. But 30 dollars/month for 3 assets and the 10 per asset. I see no reason to consider making a financial commitment like that as long as the C4d community is so robust and file sharing friendly.
