Dreamweaver

I am a long time Dreamweaver user and designed/ built my own website for our company a long time ago... but I am very slow and inefficient at it.  We are now redesigning and building the site since it shows its age and unprofessional origin.  I have a designer chosen and am currently working on the overall look of the homepage (and a few others), but I would like to hire someone else to build it for me.  I would then be able to take over after completion, and as we move forward, I can make adjustments using my own SW (Dreamweaver CS5 Version 11).  Do you guys know where I can go to post this request?[Moderator moved from The Lounge to Dreamweaver support forum​.]

Does Adobe have plans to update Dreamweaver or make a new software to replace it as web page design software? Just wondering if I should just dump Dw and look for something more in-time option. No offence but Dw is starting to drop from the wagon. I've been using Dw since the Macromedia days but now I am in doubt. Last "update" on 2022.. not a good look.

So I cancelled the install and so far I'm in for 20 minutes "Canceling" and I have no Dreamweaver to use to get work I have to do, done.  It's 2025 and Adobe still can't get this right?  Why can't I just download the file and install it manually?  It's bad enough that my Adobe stocks are deep underwater ($400 a share today?),  but I can't even use the program I've had a subscription to for several years... Win11 Enterprise, high powered media production workstation, btw... if that matters. Has anyone managed to  surmount this situation? The update I installed on 05/27/25 gave me hope that Dreamweaver would keep getting updates other than security, but instead it broke it even more: clicking on the design/live panel doesn't always select the corresponding code anymore (it would randomly happen before the update, but that involved it not working at all and having to close/reopen the file to fix it); writing code suddenly starts in one point and jumps into another part of the code panel, so if you're not paying attention to the screen, you will have to go back searching where you started to type to cut and paste what's in the wrong place back there; the help menu doesn't work anymore to submit bugs and to link to Adobe Forums; it caused the beach ball to appear and got unresponsive, and there's no other app that does that on this M1 Macbook Pro. And it still didn't correct one of the things that previous updates broke: select + grab + opt doesn't create a copy of code, there's actually no way to copy code and leave the o

I've made an container-fluid and placed an image in it (a little bit transparant) but I want to place a few (7) roll-over buttons over the image and they have to be placed a little bit more to the botton of the container-fluid. I thougt maybe I can make a container in that container-fluid an put an grid row in it but the collumns are to small(because the images I want to use are to big). So I've tryed to do it with tables but I can't get them down to the bottom of the image. Can someone give me a hint how I can fix it? I also want to make the tables transparant so I don't have the grids.

I am entirely self taught on the fly and trying to update part of our website. I need to make this section into either all 5 links on a single row or a into two rows with 3 in the first row and 2 on the second. I haven't the slightest clue what to do and googling blindly isn't working. I was trying to ask a question related to HTML formatting, but I received the message our post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body.Can someone explain how I should format my question properly? I was trying to include HTML code, but it seems to be removed automatically. Should I use backticks or code blocks?Also, I’m facing an issue where my <div> structure doesn’t align correctly in Dreamweaver. I am so frustrated, have not used Dreamweaver for a couple of years. I am now trying to use it again to build a website. It is part of my programs I pay for monthly. It does not even open one page!

I have been using Dreamweaver for more than 20 years and have over 2,000 webpages, all using templates. Suddenly, as all templates are present in the root directly and show up in the Files window, they do not show up in the Assets window anymore. I had DreamWeaver 2021 but uninstalled and reinstalled "DreamWeaver 2025", but it seems that the only thing that has changed is the copyright note on the startup. Does anyone have this problem with the unusable templates?

The only way I can test some of my links (stripe for instance) in my dreamweaver page is to open the page directly from the folder with chrome. Live view doesn't open any links and "Preview in browser, chrome" sometimes doesn't open them either. Also under preferences, there is no "Preview in browser" item on the left hand side. What can I do to make a web building software operate href links. Thanks

My nav bar on my website is not displaying correctly.  How do I expand the text?

Hi, using Adobe Dreamweaver 21.5 Build 15662.I work on an Intel 1.70 GHz laptop with 16 GB RAM. Windows 11 Enterprise Version 24H2Trigger Keys no longer work on first entry. The trigger key word, when entered in code, displays in design view and the curser jumps over to design view also. I have to click back into code view and enter it again and it will then enter the code.Secondly, there is a major delay in entering Targets for URL's.Also, when adding text into the <title> tag in code view, it shows up in design view as an <h1> heading, along with the curser. I have to click back into code view, similar to the trigger key issue.Thanks.

Hello All,I was on the phone with GoDaddy for a couple of hours. I purhased hosting for a site that I built, but I am not able to connect by ftp and upload. Specifically, Go Daddy has said that it needs to upload to the public_html folder that is available as I witnessed on the cpanel. However, no matter how variations of public_html I put into the site seteup, it will not connect. The only way it connects is when I put in a /. But then, when I look at the remote server menu in DW, I don't see any of the files and folders I could see in cpanel including public_html. Anyone know how to fix this?

I am consistently seeing the dreaded Red X, but when I click on it, I get nothing to check or correct. Any clues on why this is happening?

Dreamweaver really needs to come into the 21st Century. I created an arrow function, and Dreamweaver is saying that it's a "Syntax error".  Please see attached image. The function works, there is no syntax error.  Please fix this.

I'm curious if anyone else has come across this issue and what is everyone going to use when Dreamweaver is truly dead. I like the tools it provides for web specific site building. I have a dream that Adobe developed Dreamwear into a better app. What would this app have for features? First and foremost, all the features that are included in the current DW, but significantly updated and backwards compatible.New features built-in server side type WAMP and XAMP, AI controlled Validators for code and links and scripts. Genuine Design features, tied to Adobe's other range. Support for both independent and team development. Automated maintenance of finished web product with the help of validators on both the development side and client side. Also good support for third-party development of plugins and addons desirable.Support for other types of web applications type Rails, Aspnet, Sinatra, Lean etc. It would be the equivalent of the Swiss Army Knife for web programs.What do you think!

I've been a fan of DW since the Macromedia days, but development seems to have slowed, if not, stopped. Is this the case? Will there be any real, and proper, updates in the future? I'm thinking about updating support for PHP 8, and Bootstrap 5, along with keeping up with progress of SASS, LESS, and removal of Compass and Bourbon, both of which are no longer supported/discontinued. There are no real alternatives to DW that does everything DW does, in one place. Please Adobe, don't leave us behind.

Here is my ideal Dreamweaver interface workspace:Things of note:Fiels panel on the left, and the snippets next to that. Both are "sticky" and persistent in their space.Same with the search/properties panel on the bottom.When a file opens, it opens in the available space.This is perfect.  Two days ago, Dreamweaver forced a reinstallation on me. In the process of reinstallation, I lost my worspace saves and my snippets. With some great tech support, I was able to get my snippets restored. Now that I'm in it and working, I see that I am also missing my workspace layout that I love. I have this instead, the default Developer view: as you can see, Snippets is hiding behind Files. I can bring it forward, but then Files is hidden behind Snippets. I want both panels always visible.  Also, Properties is gone. When I bring it out, it's a floating window, which I can't stand.  With some fooling around, I can bring snippets out as a floating panel so that I can see Fi

Hi everybody,I have an issue with Dreamweaver that makes me loose a lot of time. This has been going on for many months despite DW updates. And I'm experiencing this problem on all my PCs and operating systems (Windows 10 and 11) so I think it's a bug of DW since the last versions.I used to use the "STATUS" column in Dreamweaver's Design Notes to clearly display the status of files (Draft, Revision 1, Revision 2, etc.).It doesn't work anymore (for months). Even though I associate columns with the "STATUS" Design Notes, this column always remains empty."Etat" is Status in French. As I work on thousands of file I really need to see directly in the file panel the status of each one. Thanks for your help. 

Dreamweaver isn't installing on my Mac and is  giving me error code 198 "There is a problem installing Dreamweaver". Unable to install the product. Click retry to download and install it again.  I have clicked retry, have tried installing a previous version, and have been restarting my machine between attempts. This seems to have started after my computer, a mac, was upgraded to Ventura 13.7.6 Could this be related to the problem that I'm having? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!
