Dreamweaver

I could easily go in a spree of curse words, insults, and a burn it all down tirade over Dreamweaver and how it is an abject disaster, compromising my ability to make a living in web development. But I won't because it doesn't do any good. Adobe, why do you hate us? Why do you torture us with masochistic glee. I've cancelled my subscription. Way to go, Adobe. Good riddance. 

In the documentation for DW (when you can find it), regarding live view, it states DW will automatically insert paragraph tags when pasting text. Mine does not, no matter if I use CTRL-V or EDIT-PASTE. If I hit enter to start a paragraph in a blank doc to add my content, it inserts 2! Both have non-breaking spaces in them. Handy, having to remove the extra, then the space, then add my text. Making things far slower and complicated. Then, there's the paragraph splitting, which is the main issue I'd love some help with. If I paste something in that needs to be broken into paragraphs, there's no way to do this that I could find other than manual code edits. In design view, it's place the cursor, hit enter, it splits it (end one, begin a new one). In live view, that same key makes it so you're editing that block/P. No keys I hit from there will split it into 2 as it does in design mode. Tried insert paragraph...it inserts a full pair at the start of the paragraph (or before/

Ok I have a project I need to do and it is calling for bootscrap.  Where do I find this when I create a new site.  Does CS6 even have it?

At the bottom of this page conald marlow there is a gap between the final ruler line and the top of the footer.  I cannot see why this gap exists. I have a slight suspicion it may be  something to do with my ‘sticky footer’ which I have copied from css tricks  (I am using the first of the five methods described there).  I say  this because there is a div in that gap used by the ‘sticky footer’ with a class of 'push'  but it’s only 50px but that does not account for the rest of the gap. There are other pages in my site that do not have such a gap, take a look at  annie or harry  I have validated the html and the three css files involved and looked at the page with Firefox Developer tools but still cannot figure out why that gap exists – help!

I just got a weird message.  The page shows properly.  However, at the BOTTOM, this miessage appears:Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: Serialization of 'PDOStatement' is not allowed in [no active file]:0 Stack trace: #0 {main} thrown in [no active file] on line 0 Does anyone have any idea what this means or where I might look to find the problem? Any advice will be appreciated!  Thanks... 

Hello All.  I am using a Bootstrap 4 navbar that is a server side include.  Since the navbar is pulled from the server to each page - there are many - is there a way I can get the navbar to make the page it is on active/highligted in the navbar?Thanks for your help..

Hi,I am starting to work with Dw templates. I am trying to nest an editable optional region inside a repetitive region and the problem is that each time a new repetitive region is inserted, the nested editable optional region bears the same name, so any modification of the template modifies all editable optional regions with the same name.How to resolve this problem ?Thansk for any hint.Jacob[Moderator: moved from Creative Cloud to Dreamweaver Support forum.]

I've created a new class for the footer and want to change the link colors but when I try, it says my a:link etc are invalid CSS.  What am I missing?  Is this a bug?  It seems to me that adding, editing css is not as easy as it was. I have selected hyperlinked text in the footer area to try and modify the colors. 

Hi,   I added an image to a page from another location on my harddrive.  DW used to copy the image or ask me if I wanted to copy it to my current directory. It is no longer doing that. Is there a way to fix it? 

I have my site up and running about 6 months and upload through cyber duck. On the index page I have a slideshow of photographs that I change regularly through my CSS page. All working well until I changed the photos again and it looks perfect locally but when I load it through cyber duck the photos have not changed. Can anyone help please? This is my first we page. I just can't figure out what's going on? Thanks Rachel

"Again DW 20.2 and on a Windows 7 laptop.  The certificate in question is valid in fact it is happen with any site that has a certificate.Lasy week I was receiving a weird Javascript error.  I corrected it by deleting the cache.  I have tried that it is did not help this problem. Thank you for an ideas you may have.  I am having Windows 10 installed next week so I won't be reinstall CC until after that.

Hi, Is Insert>Form>Jump Menu no longer available in DW 2021? I haven't had need of it for quite a long time but I do now and I don't see it available in either the Insert menu or Insert panel. Is it called something else now and I'm just missing it?  Thanks,David

Until recently, I've had a field below the code field in Dreamweaver that identified problems in the code, such as extra or missing </p>. It has disappeared, and I can't figure out how to get it back. Any ideas? It's Dreamweaver 21.0 for Mac thanks

Using DW 2021, just updated itself. I am in CODE view with VBScript language option in the lower right pulldown.  When I tap the spacebar it does NOT insert a space like every other program in the world does, but it moves the entire line of code like 3 tabs to the right. Even if I try to insert a space somewhere in the middle of the line of code, the whole line moves tabs at a time.  I have another DW installed on another computer under my account, but it is 2020; it does not do this.  I tried to upload the settings from that one and load the setting from the cloud to the 2021 one, but nothing makes a difference unless I change the language to something else like HTML, but then the colors are not right.  I have compared Preference Settings across both computers and I can not figure this one out.  I rarely post to forums, but this one is driving me notes.Thanks Ahead

dynamically-related files could not be resolved because your credentials don't allow file activity on the server Thats the error im getting. I am using XAMPP server on my test system, I purchased a CRM from CodeCanyon. After setting up the CRM there was only a couple things I wanted to change/add. If i get this Dynamic-related files to work, will it show me other files that are linked with the file I am editing? If so, how do I resolve this issue, as I am looking for a code section, but codeigniter has files all over the place that link to what I am looking for. I can provide more information if you need it. just let me know what you need to possibly help me.

I'm having a problem with the remote server settingThe problem is I upload from this folderC:\wamp64\www\wordpress\wp-conent\themes\hideout\and it works as expected in till I need my index.php from this folderC:\wamp64\www\wordpress\index.php because my main index.php is notC:\wamp64\www\wordpress\wp-conent\themes\hideout\index.php but it's used for uploading, but C:\wamp64\www\wordpress\index.php is for seeing my site in live view with dynamitic related files.am I doing this wrong? Or is there a way to set my C:\wamp64\www\wordpress\wp-conent\themes\hideout\ and somehow to go down a directory toC:\wamp64\www\wordpress\index.phpwithout changing setting

I finished a couple of updates to my site, ran the sync operation and it seems to have sync'ed, but when I go online with any brouser, my updates are not there, still has the old versions. What am I doing wrong?This issue just happened AFTER I downloaded a DW update, two months ago things were fine.

Since years I edit my .htaccess in DW (on a Mac). Now with DW2021 i'm able to edit the .htaccess only by going the way over "finder" > "Edit in" > Dreamweaver becaus in the File-List inside DW the .htaccess file is not showen!? Please fix it! I still have macOS (Catalina) for investigating...

I  upgraded to deamweaver verion 20.0 due to my old mac power failed and i need to replace it. My new o/s CATALINA did not support my dreamweaver versions amd photoshop versions, hence i had to upgrade. A BIG JUMP in version mumbers.   I had a lot of issues early days as I was not aware of teh LIVE view. After a few calls to Adoe support , i was made aware and 75% of my files corrected themselves I swear. !!   I carried on learning Grid and Flexbox as this is the way forward. A long story short, The Dreamweaver support team, sent me a link with the new tools document version 20.0 how to apply them. I ran the CHECK LINK SITE WISE...what a tool. I had over 23,000 lines of code and I had over 12,000 errors, a lot were duplicated, but it took me 2 weeks plus 10 hour days running the test on EACH page of mt sporting web site. I finaly got the total to zero erros. Sad but I  had a great big yell to celebrate. I uploaded my error free website and patted myself on the back.

All the items on my menu work except for this one :notice the pages/pages in the url which doesn't appear in the urls of other menu items      https://rtr1.remembertherainforest.com/pages/pages/interfaces/indexText.html Click on the back button and you will see the menu. I have tried and tried to fix this...entering and re-entering the link, etc.  This is the only menu item that is not found and the only one with pages/pages in the url. The others have only /pages? in the url. What's happening ? Thanks, Carol 

So, when I go to add a Library Item - it is greyed out where I can not. Prior conversations said it has to be done in Design View. That worked for the other Library items... Until...I wanted to make the Footer a Library item.For me, in Design View (and the Design part of split view) the Footer doesn't show up. The Footer can only be seen in the code view (which... is then greyed out when I go to add it...).Version 21.0Thank you for any help you can provide 🙂
