Dreamweaver

In the old version of Dreamweaver (Creative Suite 5), in the upper right-hand corner of an open web page it would tell you which template was being used. I can’t find anything similar to this in Creative Cloud. How do I determine which template is attached to an html file in the Dreamweaver CC interface?

Hello.  I have inserted a bootstrap 4 navbar using the latest Dreamweaver version.  I am just starting out with bootstrap.  I would like to know how to insert social media icons into the navbar and position them to the right on larger screens and to the left of the hamburger menu on smaller screens. Can anyone point me in the right direction remembering that I am rather new to bootstrap? Thanks.

Good day All,   We have been using Dw CS3 since about 2007 or so.  I've moved it twice before from one laptop to newer ones with zero problems.  I just transferred everything (again) to our new laptop (exactly as before).  However, now, the program will not allow me to "Deactivate" on the older computer, or "Activate" on the new computer.  Instead, I get a bogus "Can't find the internet" messages.  This message comes up, even though I can surf around the internet at the same time I get that message.  WTH?  This, in effect, is like saying thanks for spending a chunck of change on our software.  And, oh by the way.... we're taking it back now, unless of course you're willing to pay a ransom, I mean... purchase a subscription from us as well.  Come on now Adobe. Does anyone know of a work around for this computer transfer issue?  Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.  It would be deeply appreciated.   R/ Tim

hello again...Have to create 4 or 5 online forms for a website I built for my local area of NA (in DW). I found a basic HTML Form template at w3schools; & used that for my first form:[dead link removed by moderator.]So...when users finish & hit the Submit button, the form (& all included info) needs to go to our secretary's e-mail. I've read everything I can get my hands on regarding PHP but for a beginner coder such as myself...informationals on the web never tell you precisely *take this snippet...customize it thusly; & place it here*...even the instructionals on w3schools are vague on this topic (for people such as myself). So...can someone take a look at that form page; & point me in the right direction, at least?thanxmark4man

When it comes time to upload new content to the remote server DreamWeaver has stopped uploading all the files.  I can upload PDF's and pages for example, but cannot upload optimized graphics like simple jpgs. I know this because there are error messages after the upload process and I can view the remote server.  I've tried uploading the graphics separately from uploading a whole page. I've tried synchronizing. Here is the error messageFile Transfer failed due to following reasons: - Internal data error, possibly because of failure to start the upload. - An unknown error occurred.

It says username or password is incorrect but the  PPK file and login and pass works on Filezilla I'm on port 22

I saved a preview of my web page as a pdf and messed everything up. Now all the tabs under insert are all greyed out and I'm unable to fix them. What can I do to fix this?

Since the new version of Dreamweaver 2020 my PV11 Magic Box and Image Effects Vertical Menu will not install. I have tried two different extention managers and although they both claim to have installed them they are simply not there in the programme. I have restarted both the programme and computer many times. Can anyone help please?

Hi all,I am learning how to use Dreamweaver and recently upgraded to version 21.0.On my Mabook (mid 2014 - MacOS 10.14.6) it seems to work fine.But on my iMac (Late 2012 - MacOS 10.14.6) preview in browser doesn't work. I have defined some test sites, without configuring server, only locally.If I try to preview an html, using the icon at the bottom right of the main window, or from the File-> Open in browser menu, it does nothing, it does not open any of the configured browsers. To try to fix it I have done all this:- Delete and reconfigure the browsers.- Uninstall Dreamweaver, delete all preferences, even from previous versions.- Installed again.- I have tried turning off the second monitor. But I still can't preview the html in any browser.I have to open it manually from browsers. Any suggestions of what may be happening on my iMac?Thank you.

My assets panel does not have categories for Templates and Libraries. I have folders in my root director for my website with the names Templates and Libraries. I thought that would cause the categories to be created. What's wrong? What do I need to do so that I can use these features?

When I open a web page I have a common toolbar docked to the left side. There is another common toolbar floating elsewhere. When I close the web page the attached one disappears but the floating one remains. How do I get rid of the floating one?

so I cant move links with the hand tool because when I try, it just immediately tries to edit the text for the link?

I find that there are problems with modifying text in the live view with Dreamweaver CC 2020. I did not have these problems with Dreamweaver Creative Suite. 1. If I select some text in the live view that is inside a <p> tag, I can delete it, but often I cannot insert new text.2. If I select all the text inside a <p> tag, I can delete it, but I can't get rid of the paragraph, i.e. the tag remains. I must go into the code view to delete the <p> tag.3. If I select all the text spanning multiple <p> tags, I can't delete it. This is frustrating because it makes the live view worthless from an editing point of view. How can I remedy the problem? 

Please make the latest version of CC available for re-download through the Creative Cloud. With the latest changes you have basically destroyed the last feature, the SEARCH window, that was keeping me using Dreamweaver. 

I have a little knowledge of html, What I would like to know is there a book that I can be direct to learn enought css or what language needed to make a quzz that grade itself and shows the correct answer.     Thank you Rick

I tried the validation. There were a few errors related to the old method of formating at table that has nothing to do with my problem. I would really like to know how to re-install Dreamweaver CC.

I have used old versions of dreamweaver for years. Now with the DW 2020 I got problems to make hotspots. I have a map in jpg and open this in DW. The map has red dots with numbers. They function with a link when you click on them. But it is impossible to make new hotspots with DW 2020. I want to make a cirkle or square that can be lincked to a url. In photoskop I can make figures, but cant find anything in DW 2020. If I choose anyting to insert it drop to the bottom. Not allowd to put where I want. Please advice? Dag.

I was working on my website and started to have trouble with placing the cursor in a paragraph in the live view. I read on the community forum that I should delete the \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2020\TempFile List\. I did that and placing the cursor works well. But when I started to work on the website again I found that the hotspots that I created using Zoomify no longer worked and the code has not changed. I wonder if there was something in the deleted file that was necessary. A new copy of the deleted file was automatically created. But maybe there was something in the original needed by Zoomify. What should I do? 

I don't understand how this thread is "solved" when it is only being addressed for PC users. I've seen a few Mac users post questions on how to to fix this problem, and they've been ignored the entire time. What is your solution for those of us who are on a Mac?

Do I need to save each time when working on a WordPress site with PHP to see changes or does it update in real-time like HTML files? I'm confused 

On DW 5.5,  I was able to click "Preview in Chrome" and it would open my page with my full local server and path.Example: HTTP://authoring.company.com/contact-us.html Now on DW CC, when I click "Preview in Browser" > Google Chromeit opens a "live" preview of my page with a generic URL: HTTP://127.0.0.1:5860/preview/app/index.html The "live" feature is nice, but I would prefer to have my full URL path. Is there any way to change this? Thank you!     

I designed 2 basic websites using Dreamweaver 8 a few years ago, haven't needed to change anything on the sites for quite a while - until now.Can't remember the password to upload files on one of the sites - is there a secure way to change the password when you can't remember the current one?Thanks in advance

Hello!I have a problem with hotspots in Edge. After inserting a hotspot and clicking on it, a black box appears. It is visible in the attached picture (the red frames are a fragment of the picture). In other browsers, it is ok. I have the impression that when I clicked, the hotspot border appears help!

Help!!I can't edit or save my files without Dreamweaver crashing.What should I do??
