Dreamweaver

OK, I know I'm asking this question because I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to CSS but here goes.Many of the pages on my website (older ones created with GoLive) Are just <p> <img> <p> <img> and on and on.A page I am working on is all nice and centred and then I select a <p> and go "edit rule" and go to box and  change it from auto to 800px. I do this so the text doesn't go all the way across the page which makes it hard to read. When I hit apply it changes the box but the whole page goes from being centered to being left justified. Everything on the page is up against the left border. What on earth is going on?

I'm tinkering with a project where the copy must be translated into two languages. There is no easy way to do this. But I want to share the site resources between the two sites, such as stylesheets and images. So I created symbolic links to these assets in one DW Site that point back to the original DW site. Seemed like it was working great, I was able to sync to the remote server (which is set up similarly with symbolic links). Left DW and came back in, and magically one of the Sites was gone from Site Manger. That's weird. I created the site again, all is well. Except now the first Site disappeared from Site Manager. Apparently if there are any symbolic links from one Site to another Site, DW gets confused and wipes one of them out. So that's a bummer. But there has to be a way to do this without keeping copies of shared assets and copying back and forth between sites? Any suggestions would be appreciated . Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way.

I'm trying to find out if Dreamweaver has this ability, built-in or by extension, where it shows the connecting lines between the open and close tags in code view. I've seen other editors with this ability and I could swear Dreamweaver had it around the time CC first made its debut. See the image for what I'm looking for. I've tried searching for it but can't find the name of what to call it so it makes it rather difficult to search. I know there are alternatives to this but I'm looking for this functionality in particular. Thanks.

I'm adding photos and text to DW 2020 to pages some of which were created in Go Live.When I add a <p> I get an annoying grey bar at the bottom of the text field as shown in the photo. Apart from making it hard to see the text, it sometimes stops me from selecting the text to edit it. Is this a bug or have I done something wrong to settings? (Just before it started I messed with the min-max settings.

Hi. I am creating a simple html website using Dreamweaver and I would like to create an image where the user can click on an icon within the image and a pop out window will be displayed with some information (for example a map of the world, and if you click on a Country a pop out box will appear with some data)I've looked at using Adobe XD but not sure how/if its possible to implement XD content into HTML pages.Would anybody have any suggestions as to what software would be best for this??Thanks.

Is there an extension manager that works with the latest version of Dreamweaver 2020? For Mac

1st time this has happened in many DW sites. Here's the deal:There are 15 images on the page.All images are saved in the same folder.In DW code/design view, all images are present and visible.When page is previewed in Chrome, all images are present.When page is FTP'ed to site, all images are listed in same folder.When site is viewed online, 7 of the images don't show up.Review of code for images that show and those that don't show indicates that it's identical save for name of image.Has anyone else had this happen? Were you able to fix? If so, how? Thanks for any input.

This window or panel appeared on my screen sometime back, and I can't make it go away. Anybody know what it is and how to close it? Sometimes, my entire DW application will get concealed within it.  Thanks!

I usually use adobe dreamweaver to reduce multi line css to one line css. After update it 15 days ago, code formating for css not working. so sadddddddd. I use Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4 and latest update dreamweaver cc please help me how to make it work again? thanks

My computer is fine, but Dreamweaver will not install. Adobe took my $20 dollars but the program will not install for some reason. It appears to not even activate. What's wrong?

Using ver 20.1 Dreamweaver will not save the ftp login information and I have to enter it everytime I restart the program - anyone else having this issue or know how to fix this ?

In older versions of Dreamweaver, if I added photos to a page I simply uploaded the html page and the jpg's that I had just added uploaded with it. This doesn't seem to happen in DW2020. I've looked through Preferences but can't find anything to enable this. I think the term "dependent files" used to come up on old versions. Surely you can still do this.

How can I stop the main menu from flickering when a user hovers over it?  It's so bad that users can't even get to the sub-menu to open anything. It just flickers.  

I built an Insert Form using the DMXZone Extension Bootstrap 4 Form Generator extension. After saving the form, I viewed it  in IE and Netscape both browsers have the same problem. The interactive data fields cannot be selected.  Can anyone help to solve this issue? I have attached a couple of screens. 

I haven't done web design for years, and am new to CSS. Last used some ancient Windows version of DreamWeaver, though I also own CS6 on a Mac that died years ago and I can't afford to replace. Installed DreamWeaver CC and mistakenly chose the 'Intermediate' level instead of 'Beginner.' I'm completely lost.  Hoping that if I start over with the initial setup, that perhaps there will be more helpers to guide me, explain things more clearly and completely.  I don't want to be constantly looking for online helpers to explain every new concept or terminology.  Of course, I have no idea if this will actually help my old brain to figure this stuff out, but it's worth a try... The question:  Is there a way to go back to that point, or simply to change my preference to beginner level, without having to uninstall/reinstall? Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Folks,I am following a tutorial on bootstrap 4 and it tells me to put data-interval = "false" into the line below to stop the carousel whilst editing but there is no choice in the list for 'interval' in the intelisence.  I have tried to add it manually anyway, saved and closed the page and re-opened it but has no affect. has this changed in 2020 DW and the bootstrap version it uses, if so what is used now to slow down the frequency? <div id="Carousel" class="carousel slide" data-ride="carousel" data- style="background-color: grey"> Kind regards,Dave G

Just started using the DW2020 after upgrading from a 10 year old version. Just now I was trying to add a photo onto an existing page and DW said access to the folder that contains the photo is denied. I am the only user on the computer so I can't see how I could be denied anything as I'm also the admin. It could be a problem with my new MacBook but right now I can't add new photos to my website.

I'm lostBeen using DW for ages and have today to migrate a site from server 2003 to 2012 with database in a different directory.No problem for creating the code, it works on the distant server, but I would like to test it localy and there come the problems - Where should I place the 'databases' directory in the wwwroot ?- asp seems not working because for a very simple page with a response.write('hello world'), i got this answer : Erreur HTTP 404.0 - Not Found.In the beginning of DW, there was a great manual with all this axplanation, but that was ages ago and my memory is failingThanks for your help
