Dreamweaver

Help please.I have a layout that uses a HTML5 bootstrap theme. On my old workstation dreamweaver shows everything fine, however, my new Mac with dreamweaver shows the layout when I refresh the view with F5, then changes to showing dotted lines and div shapes.What is going on? Why does it not do that on my old Mac running exactly the same version of dreamweaver CC?Please see screen shots attached.Thanks

Hi all,I have an email template in which I revised and added my custom footer to. It works correctly but is in the wrong container and can't figure where to put it. It's running the width of the window instead of the email (740px) and I'm not sure where to place the table.Thanks for any help. Here is a link to the html file. OK, this is weird.My husband and I added a new html file  to our site today, plus modified a few files. ALL files appear on the net as we intended. However, the new file that we added DOES NOT APPEAR in the remote view file list. It DOES show in the local view. I have tried this on all three computers (Macs) and none of them show the file in the remote list, so it does not appear to be a local cache or configuration issue.I created a new test file with just a line of text in it, put that up, and it does show. However, I have made copies of the one that doesn't show and renamed it, copied the entire code and pasted into a new file which also doesn't show...I even tried putting it into a different folder. Can't make it happen.One more thing: it DOES show up on our remote server (siteground) and I have flushed the cache for the site.One more thing: I duplicated a completely different file, renamed it and put it up, no problem. But this one, even renamed, refuses to be seen.Any ideas

How do I style the opacity and colour of the bootstrap navbar toggler icon?

I was wondering if "cite" and "q" are protected and if I could make my own style .cite rather that use <cite>, the same with .q rather  than <q>?The reason I ask is ".q" shows up in my CSS list but the <q> doesn't and I have to type in the opening and close of the tag by hand.I just don't want to run afoul of some obscure W3 rule by accident and have to search and replace a lot of pages for nothing.

Hello,I have defined a site (testing server) that I am using with Wamp64 with Win 10 Pro (with latest updates). And I have been using a couple of PHP files that I have in the same root folder as I have two other PHP files that are working great with DW build 10165. And one HTML file that captures the form data to send to register_add.php. I've been toying with full-size background images, alternating between background-size: cover and contain. After some testing, I'm wondering if the behavior I'm looking for is even doable. Thought I'd ask here.The image is of a standing silhouette.The behavior I'm looking for is :PROPORTIONALLY: Must retain original proportions at all times.VERTICALLY: Must stretch to fill 100% viewport height at all times.HORIZONTALLY: - If width is larger than image, left-justify.- If width is narrower, right-justify.(In other words, crop left side out of the viewport so the right side of the image remains in view.)What is the simplest and most code-efficient way to obtain this result?Thanks!

Hello,I don't use Dreamweaver a ton these days and seem to have forgotten some basic concepts.I have a SKIN, 1 large JPG, that I wish to make responsive.I assume the leaderboard (top) stays and the 2 sides disappear when viewed on a phone or smaller screen.Can someone point in the direction of a template or tutorial that could help me achieve this.Any guidance is greatly appreciated.Cheers!Babs

I am using DW CS6. I have italics set up in my style sheets but I notice that when I click on a word in design view and go to "CSS" I also notice that right above it is "Styles" which also has the option to add italics by using  <i></i> . This option is not available in code view.And I also notice than in DISQUS you can add tags like <b> and <i> so it seems that these styles are still commonly supported.So my question is: which is better to use your own CSS style or <i></i> and <b></b>?

Dear Sir, dear Madam,I had already subscribed to Dreamweaver CC, using my private email as account. I have used Dreamweaver CC to build and publish my website. I was stil using Photoshop CS and Indesign CS.I have now a new (buisiness)account for all Adobe CC, so i wil start using Photoshop CC and Indesign CC as well.I want to include Dreamweaver as well in my new complete account. So I have looked through every setting and can't figure this out... I have my code set to create a closing tag right after you close the opening tag. However, when I hit enter to start adding code in the tags, my cursor is right in front of the closing tag. It looks like this:<html>|</html>The pipe is my cursor.... I want to set it so after I type the opening tag and press enter, it does this:<html>       |</html>Someone please help me with this! It seems to be something with Emmet, but I can't find anything about editing the preferences... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get this message every time I try to open Dreamweaver:The last time you opened Dreamweaver CC, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?Whether I answer yes or no, it crashes immediately. Can't find any solutions online. I'm working on Mac OS. Please help! My old DW CS3 is broken, but I'm used to the DW interface for 10 years.I don't want to pay the extorionist/ Price gauging Adobe ($240 year after year), so I peeked to today at Pinegrow and Coda. Coda looked a lot more like DW. It's preview was normal whereas Pinegrow's preview was wacky looking.But I did not see an equivalent Design view, in Coda. Is Coda the most DW  looking of the alternatives or is there a closer software to DW?I do pay Adobe $10 every month for PS -- the photographer bundle. Is there a better deal I can get on DW, as I currently subscribe to that?  Or with student rate?  Or some idea how to get  DW CC better priced than the overpriced standard price?

I tried printing out a couple of documents using print code from the drop down menu for the file tab and it doesn't print all of the code. It cuts out the code that is word wrapped in the Code View. It prints the code on the line as one line and then it cuts off all of the other code that was word wrapped in DW. Here's an example of what I am talking about. The first line of code (a comment) is how it is displayed in DW code view using Word Wrap. //this variable holds a ton of text that doesnt really make any sense and looks like a giant paragraph. I've had multiple websites hosted by Dot5 Hosting for over 10 years and have suddenly (September 2018) developed a problem making an FTP connection to their server using Dreamweaver.  I've spoken with Dot5 support and learned that they have made some changes.  I've followed their directions and still cannot connect.  I did successfully connect and upload files using FileZilla but that is very awkward compared to uploading/updating through Dreamweaver.  Dot5 says it must be a DW problem.  I can no longer see the "More Options" dropdown menu in the Site Management/Servers window so I cannot change from FTP to Passive FTP.  Does anyone have suggestions?

Hi,What is the best way to approach this without having to re-write media query styles for mobile breakpoints?Example: img floating left within a div with text to the right of it. The text wraps to create a paragraph wherever it hits the img. I had to add margin-right to the image so the text & image had a decent gap between.However, once this gets to mobile, that excess margin-right will no longer be needed as the single col will display this image and all the text collapsed underneath it. The image will need to be 100% centered at that point.Is there a better approach for this to better automate details like this?Thank you.

help! did it accidentally click something? I cannot view any of my web pages in design live view, it show my 404 error pages.

Dw experts please help. I have live view that is showing a version of index.php that is hours old.  The remote server (browser view) shows the current file version.  After, I use FileZila to upload new file version. When I use DW files menu to upload files I get this error (screen shot attached)  The same error I get every time I save the file.   The error message (screen shot) has said it can not save index.php (current).  However, it is saving it to my computer.  I know this from using File Zilla to upload saved file to server.  From reading the message; it seems Jquery reference files are the problem. The DW files menu will not GET files from remote server.  I tried to update Live View from remote view. Now I’m getting message to check server settings.  The sever settings are all same and working fine until I got on the Jquery band wagon………Any suggestions ???? ……thanks    

I think setting up Dreamweaver with git or WordPress is pretty straightforward. What is confusing me is setting up Dreamweaver with Wordpress and git. For WordPress developers, we generally only create git repos for the theme or the themes folder. When I associate a git repo to my staging (test) and production (remote) server, Dreamweaver is confused because the git folder hiearchy does not show the entire WordPress folder.Does anyone know how to set DreamWeaver to deal with git only on the themes folder and understand that the root WordPress installation is a few levels above?

HalloSeit einiger Zeit lässt sich Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017 auf Windows 10 Home nicht mehr aufstarten. Ich habe nun die App mit dem Adobe CC Client deinstalliert, den PC neu gestartet, und danach DW 2018 installiert. Das Problem besteht weiterhin. DW 2018 startete einmal auf, seither nicht mehr. Es erscheint im Taskmanager als aktiver Task, aber nicht als aktive App. Den Task zu beenden und einen neuen Start zu versuchen hat nichts gebracht.. Der Windows crash-log zeigt keine Adobe/Dreamweaver bezogenen Fehler an. Auch läuftt keine Lavasoft Applikation auf meinem System, welche bekannt ist für Probleme mit Adobe CC. Mit der temprären Deaktivierung des Virus-Tools (Kaspersky) und dem Windows Defender habe ich es ebenfalls versucht.In Foren wie hier fand ich Ratschläge wie "Alle Adobe Apps deinstallieren, Adobe CC deinstallieren, Adobe CC Cleaner laufen lassen, Adobe CC installieren, Adobe Apps installieren". When I check-out a page a .lck file is created on both remote and localWhen I check-in the operation fails, the upload of the main page file seems to work fine but then the transaction aborts as it fails to delete the .lck file.The system doesn't allow me to manually delete the .lck file either have to get the network administrator to delete the .lck file before I can check-in the page.I can't understand why if I have the right permissions for the system to create the .lck file in the first place on remote why it cannot subsequently delete the file a few minutes later

I'm using CC 2017 and I'm experimenting with the real-time browser.The problem I'm having is that I want to edit styles in the .css file attached to my .html file (so that I can see the changes in real-time). But when I switch to the .css file, the real-time browser window displays:You cannot preview the document open in Dreamweaver. You can only preview HTML or PHP documents.I watched a tutorial where the person did just what I'm trying to do with out an error. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Steve

For some reason I am having issues displaying some very basic site images. The image shows as blank on the page.I was using a .jpg that didn't show but when I made a version as .png it shows up fine. (both pics are on the server in images dir.)They are both small files and small imagessame BASIC HTML page (no css etc.) same tag like: <!-- shows--><img src="images/test.png" alt="" /><!-- no show--><img src="images/test.jpg" alt="" />Any Idea why the .jpg does not show?Could it be something at the host level?

I have an "expanding box problem" in browser compatibility: I have an image which I want to shrink to fit small browser screens, instead it stays fixed, overflowing the box. I've tried resetting the width, but every image is then reset, not what I wanted. New to CSS and strugging... Here's the page: www.conorwalton.com/index11a.html
