I have updated to Dreamweaver CC version 18.I have inserted an image using a local path. I have amended and re-saved the image (keeping the same name). The image is refreshed in design view but not in live view. I have clicked the refresh (F5) many times and it does not refresh live view.I know that changing the file name will fix this but I really don't want to do this.I have inserted a different temporary image with a different name, saved the page, shut down and re-opened Dreamweaver, then replaced the temporary image with the correct one but it still displays the old (now deleted) image in live view.Is there a way to clear Dreamweaver's browser cache as refresh (F5) is not working?
Hi all,I am creating a basic 5-page website for my college midterm. I finally got the template almost put together, however, the navigation bar disappears when I put on "real-time preview," or "Live View."I originally made this in an HTML document then saved it as a .dwt template. So, i downloaded Git, and i launched dreamweaver, and it didn't find it, i want to set a custom path, but i don't know what to set it to
I am pretty inexperienced in Dreamweaver...I inherited a site when I started my position a year ago and really only use the site to update pages. I don't know much about coding/the back end of the site. We are currently in the process of moving over to a website platform, so I have been working to get content ready by deleting unnecessary pages.Yesterday I was messing around in a template for one of my global navigation items to delete an item in the left nav and now two pages that use that template aren't working. I get the "500 Internal Service Error - There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed" when I try to access them. Additionally, all of the child pages that use the template have lost their styling on the back end and are just showing plain text.It looks like this....When it's supposed to look like this...I also synchronized sitewide. I'm not really sure what exactly I did, so I'm not sure how to fix it!Does anyone have any insight?
I am trying to migrate from CS6 to CC18 (downloaded from Adobe Creative Cloud app), which a totally different GUI. All of my Library and Template tools (Tools menu) in CC are grayed out and can't be used. Been unsuccessful finding any solutions in the Help files. How do I get these items to work?

Hi, I've installed the last version of Dreamweaver CC, and I can't see the "Invisible elements" on the Desing View. I have checked all of the on the Preferences, but I discovered that icons are now white, so if the background page is white, I just can't see them. I have to change the style background to see they are there, but this is not the way of working. Is there any way to change the color of the icons for the invisible elements?
I am unable to use Dreamweaver CC 2017 to search files in the site. Whether I search the entire local site or just select some files and choose to do a find on those, the search results panel will open but the Dreamweaver process will then increase to over 100% CPU in Activity monitor, the process will change to say Dreamweaver is not responding and the search never completes. I have to force quit the app to recover.This search files function is essential to be able to identify which scripts call certain routines so Dreamweaver is crippled without this feature.Please help!I am running the very latest version of Dreamweaver 2017.5 release 9878 (I updated it this evening but still has the same problem) under Mac OS 10.12.6 (16G29) in a 2012 15" MacBook Pro (pre-retina) 2.3GHz i7 with 8GB RAM.

I'm using ExpanDrive to access content on an Amazon Cloud Drive account. It basically mounts the cloud drive to appear as if it's a local drive.Prior to the update, DW '17 was able to work with ExpanDrive.After updating, whenever the site cache has to be re-created, it gets stuck and either maxes out CPU processing or freezes and activity monitor reads, "Dreamweaver not responding".After some trouble shooting, it seems that if I can disable the site cache, it doesn't get hung up but then I'm unable to "get" files from the remote site (connection tested and it's successfully connected). Also, it takes a long time for the interface to respond... it then appears there is some latency to placing cursor and when I can begin typing in documents. Scrolling also appears effected by the cache being disabled.I have also re-set the prefs for DW 18 when starting it up which didn't help much.Running OS X Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29) on a macbook pro w/ 16 GB ram.Any suggestions or others w/ similar issue
My css HTML index edits show in live display from dreamweaver. But, the background images will not display on website after I upload? I'm editing changes via source code. Salve,ho sempre utilizzato Dreamweaver CC 2015, ora sono passato alla versione CC 2017, molto bella e con molte accortezze utili, il problema è che dato che la utilizzo solo in "Vista Codice", mi fa molto comodo la colorazione del codice personalizzata, nella versione CC 2015 si può impostare da interfaccia wizard separatamente ogni tag, stringa, numero, etc...Mi spiego meglio:- nella versione CC 2015 posso dare per PHP il colore Rosso ai tag <?php ?>, posso dare blù ai tag html, es: <html></html>, posso dare marrone ai tag javascript es: <script language='JavaScript'></script>, etc....- nella versione CC 2017 non posso fare questo, tramite il file di configurazione editabile "main.less", posso dare un colore a tutti i tag ma non separatamente a quelli che decido io.E' possibile scavalcare questo problema ??Grazie molte a tutti.
I'm making a new Bootstrap-based web site from a DW template. The Bootstrap code has a huge number of classes, most of which I'm not using. However, the pop-up menu in the "properties" window displays them all, and it won't scroll (I have to click on the down-arrow to get to the next one, and it only goes one class at a time), making it a really time-consuming process just to apply a class to a bit of text. Is there a way to configure that pop-up menu to display only the classes that are actually used in the site?
The header of our new test site - when viewed using the F12 key - differs from the online display. Just the header, nothing else. Specifically, the nav bar selections (Home, Contact Us, etc.) vary vertically. First view is using F12, second when viewed online.Anyone have an idea?Thanks Mike

Im new to to world of website building so this might sound silly.Im a member of a small car club and id like to build a photo location/map site for it.Where we coud have a map and people can tag there photo locations on it (maybe a small thumbnail and a gallery)is this possable to do on dreamweaver?Many thanks Alan
Cree mi sitio en Dreamweaver CC y al finalizar los cambios que deseaba, lo guardé y finalmente cerré la aplicación. Al intentar acceder de nuevo a cualquiera de las páginas dentro del sitio sale una ventana que dice que no se encuentra el archivo, y en el área en el que aparece la carpeta raíz solamente están las carpetas con las imágenes, los estilos css, los jquery, así como el html de las páginas sin la edición final. Qué puedo hacer para recuperar el sitio?
Ok, so normally one would do something like:<div id="slide_show"><img src="slide_show_images/penguin.jpg alt=""><img src="slide_show_images/lion.jpg alt=""><img src="slide_show_images/bear.jpg alt=""><img src="slide_show_images/elephant.jpg alt=""></div>Hook up a jQuery script like 'cycle' and away it goes - which is ok BUT I have 50 images I want to fade in and out prefferably random as well.The question is has anyone found a script, used a script, that can look for images in a directory/folder, choose a randon starting point and cycle through them fading in and out?I thought I had found something but all the image names have to take the form of IM_1.jpg, IM_2.jpg, IM_3.jpg which I cant do for reason I shall not explain.These images are names in a database field so I could just loop through them all BUT that would put 50 images on the page which is a hefty amount of data, which will most likely slow the page down?CheersOs

Ever since I have updated my Dreamweaver app, the application is sluggish many dynamic tools fail to load in a timely manner. For instance, missing has gone the Media Dialog box definitions, making it hard to jump to the various CSS styles found within that media. Additionally, I can jump to a specific selector anymore when click on the selector name in the dialog box. In both cases, I have to scroll or search the page looking for a particular item that I need to edit. Very tedious. I wish updates were better tested and not shared as often. I cause my business to suffer and deal with work arounds all day long. Anyone have a solution for this dialog panel issue?Thanks, Teejay

To add images to web pages, I generally click on "browse for file," navigate to my image folder, and use the "search images" window in the upper right hand corner to narrow it down to relevant images by reviewing the extra large icons. I just updated to Dreamweaver CC 2018, only to discover that this doesn't work any more. Here is an example: I am working on a web page for the wildflower Pipsissewa (Chimaphila umbellata). I am a teacher trying to teach Dreamweaver CC 2017 to HS kids. I am not a coder, so please, don't speak in coding language. My lab was updated to CC 2017 this summer and when I started using the updated Dreamweaver - what a nightmare!! CS6 was so much user friendly!!When working in Design view (which we must), when a page is closed and reopens - it is opened in Live view and I can't get back to Design view and can't edit!!!Please help me.
