Suppose I have a set of links or just plain text, which is identical across multiple html pages. Is there a way to 'encapsulate' that into one file, which is separately maintained, and which can then be called on every page that needs to have it? Hope that is clear.

On the other hand, I can't create another site because now 127.0.0.1 is synonymous with the virtual domain. So do you keep the changed code and comment it out until the day you might need to access the site? Or do you change the site host name to localhost/sitename as you would normally when you create a site to test locally?

Does anyone know how to disable these pop-ups? They are driving me mad and are even more frequent in the latest .5 update.

Hi everyone, I can't upload or sync files in Dreamweaver, getting error message "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host.". I have just installed the most recent version (2017). Also I noticed that hitting F1 will not bring up help, getting another error message "Unable to display help, Connect to the internet and try again...". This is very strange, why won't Dreamweaver connect to the internet, when other Adobe programs are working fine? Please suggest what I need to do (not too technical if possible please). I have used a Bootstrap nav bar with a drop down menu at the right and have included a sub menu this all works fine until I get to the breakpoint for a mobile phone. The hamburger works fine, the drop down menu works fine and changes to a slider to access all menu items but when I click on the arrow to the right for the submenu it closes the section down. Presumably as there is no where to the right to push the sub menu out to. Please can you tell me how to fix this issue.http://addesignandprint.co.uk/Test/celebrations.htmlI have only started the addition of the sub menu on this one page and not adding to others until I have it working on one page!I would appreciate help in this matterLiz

Hello all!I have an old version of DreamWeaver (CS 2) where this feature was prominent. Kind of got used to it as it's occasionally really helpful to have good reference on code integrated into the app. Now I'm trying get current, but can't seem to find this or activate it. The usual google searches indicate that how you access seems to have changed over the years but I still can't seem to get it to come up. This is with Dreamweaver CC on Mac. Hoping someone can either give me a clue on how to get it to show or confirm that it's been totally removed.Thanks!Jon

Hello, As I work through this book, I have hit a roadblock based on what appears to be a bug/ error in the author's instructions. In 7.3.2 (Hiding Bootstrap Elements) the final step given, prior to saving is: 10. Click the Remove Class/ID icon for the hidden-sm class. The class is removed from the element.However, lesson 7.3.4 picks up with step 5 asking: 5. Select the aside.col-sm-3 .hidden-sm tag selector. Observe the DOM panel display.The issue is that we removed this class in the final instruction in lesson 7.3.2.I figured adding it back (ignoring the deletion step from 7.3.2) would resolve. But then, when I get to step 7 my quotation does not appear anywhere on the screen when I drag the scrubber to the small media query, as the author's does in his video and in the book photo. Therefore, I cannot continue on to steps 8, 9, etc. Can you assist so that I may complete this important lesson?

Dreamweaver 2017, working on a php file. If I select a line and command 'x'/cut I get a pop-up dialog listing; __CLASS__, __COMPILER_HALT_OFFSET__, and so on. It's not of use to me and very irritating, is there a way to I prevent the pop-up?

In Dreamweaver MX 2006 popup menu, when I create an item linked to an url address containing blank or equal (=) character, the address is truncated and unrecognizable...Is there a correction patch for this bug or a workaround?

I use the Developer mode and have the Standard Tools Bars enabled:Please add the Get and Put arrows which will effect the selected tab. Here's a mock up:Currently I have to click the Site tab and then select either Get or Put, this is very inconvenient.Please don't tell me to use keyboard shortcuts, I don't use keyboard shortcuts for anything other than copy and paste functions.Thank you.

Hello,I have been struggling with this for over two months now and need to find out where I can get support from Adobe. I am tired of paying 50 per month and dealing with the slow loading and freezing up to both Dreamweaver and Photoshop. This issue started once I updated the software to 2017.If I do not have Adobe software open, my computer and internet runs great. When I open one or the other it completely bogs my system down. Does adobe offer support for this? I have heard of others encountering this same issue and it is seriously affecting my productivity. If anyone has any advice or could provide me with direction, I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you

I have a copy of CS4 on my computer. I used CC for a little while but cancelled my subscription and went back to cs4 so I don't have to keep paying money. I have uninstalled CC but now, whenever I try to open a file using Dreamweaver cs4, it wants to default to CC even though I have uninstalled it. For some reason, windows will not recognize cs4 at all. How can I break this connection? What do I need to do to get the creative cloud crap off my system. Right now, I feel like it's a virus.

Moved to DW 2017 CC and it is a challenge.  Can't apply styles to my images.I have the following link in every page: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" title="CSS" href="../styles/father.css" media="screen" />When I attempt to use the menu to apply a style,  the drop box says I have two options:  Make a new style or Attach a style sheet?I tried attaching but nothing happens???I tried the PROPERTIES panel I I do not see the styles in the father.css style sheet...VERY VERY frustrating as I use them all the time... Or did!

While there are many features about CC2017 vs CS6 that I appreciate, I miss the CS6 ability to see at-a-glance what is set for a selected element and being able to simply "right click > edit" a property within that interface.The CS6 interface offered either a right-click ability to edit a property right there or a popup with all options for that property readily available for editing. The same edits in CC2017 take several clicks and much time on my part to figure out an element's relationship within the interface.Best I have done is to install both CS6 and CC2017 and throughout the day open/close one or the other to accomplish tasks. Very tiresome. (Before you ask, yes, I can hand code CSS and HTML, but that's not the point.)My specific questions to anyone reading this:1) If you feel as I do that the general CS6 CSS interface was more user-friendly, how have you adapted your workflow when using CS2017?2) Is there a version between CS6 and CC2017 that offers the same CSS editor as CS

HelloI finally bit the bullet and downloaded the full Dreamweaver software.i tried a couple of free packages but as i'm doing a Dreamweaver course, it seemed sensible!  As well as dipping into the w3schools tutorials.  Maybe I'm rushing ahead but I'm stuck at the moment!Three fold question here,1. I'd like my name "Martin Vallis" to be aligned to the "G" in Gallery. What code do I need to input?2. I'd like the text of my categories to be in white, I've achieved it once but somehow have lost it?3. I'd like to also change all the text fonts to gill sans, I've tried this, in a variety of positions within the body but no luck, <style ="font-family:gill sans;"> </style> Obviously doing something wrong any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I started a community directory in 1996 using basic HTML (PageSpinner) and a little basic Dreamweaver (now CS5.5). It has well over 4,000 webpages now. Is it possible to use Dreamweaver CS6 to make individual pages within the directory mobile friendly?
