Dreamweaver

Some of us have taken part in the following discussion -https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2279932Which has caused me to re-look at web development, this forum, and Dw in particular.Dw has I think lost touch, and any solutions we offer users would I think be better if they were not Dw related, but composed of components, and snippets of code, that the user could use in any program. Why?The only 'complete' solution that Dw offers is bootstrap, and this will cause problems for users if Dw ever updates to bootstrap v4. as it is not really backwards compatible is it. This leaves users such as the OP of the above discussion in limbo to some extent, as any site they create now will in 1 or 2 years time not be editable in Dw, (if Dw does update to v4, but if it does not, what then?).I also looked at the swap-image behaviour, and the image size problem mentioned in the last few posts of the discussion, (don't scream, I will be mentioning srcset  ). I have Dreamweaver CS5.5. Haven"t used it for a while but want to create a new web site. Want to create a top and a side menu but can't find instructions to do this.

I have installed Dreamweaver 2004 on my Windows 10 computer, using GoDaddy as my server host.  This ran on my Windows 7 OS.  I have talked we GoDaddy and we established that there is no problem with the Computer on my side and their side in connecting.  When I click o the Test button For the Remote site it seems to work. When I go into Dreamweaver and Refresh and then press the connect to remote host button I get this error message:  The connection to the remote has been lost.  Click Refresh to reconnect.  I refresh but get the same error message.  Does Dreamweaver 2004 run on Windows 10?  Thank you in advance.

Hi, been out of the game for a while and now getting back into it all! I have a customer who likes the interactivity of the scroll banner on the home page without going to another page. The example page they like is link is http://www.boltonbros.co.uk and you click the arrows to move the banner along. It has real text, images and links / buttons on each banner cycle. Is there a template in Dreamweaver I can use or some coding I can add? Thanks guys, I feel a right newby but so much has changed since I last played!

I would like to use this slider: Carousel - Jssor Slider  but I would like to use in a drawer that will slide up from the bottom of my site with a button click.Even if I could just toggle it on and off that would work!I would appreciate any help.Thanks!

Since DW 2017, it seems Adobe has completely dropped support for ASP. And by "support", I mean the editor doesn't even recognize an ASP page.In the lower right, you can select what kind of page it is, everything from "Bash", to "Haxe" to "Twig"....whatever those are....but no ASP!!!!!This is most frustrating when editing an ASP page - even if I select VBScript, it still doesn't work correctly. When writing Javascript for instance in an ASP page, the code jumps around, auto-indents when it shouldn't, etc....it's driving me crazy.Does anyone else have these issues? I don't develop much in ASP anymore, but still need to support many sites with changes, improvements, etc...Any info/ideas appreciated.

I have just moved a website across from one Linux remote server to another. The website worked perfectly on the 1st server but now on the 2nd server  the website won't display some icons triggered from a CSS file. On investigation the CSS file is in place on the server in the correct relative place but in the logs I am seeing a 404 for the icon responsible CSS file. The website is an exact mirror of the one on the first server with the same site relative paths and root. It's quite a complex website and all the other features are working fine on the 2nd server - just missing icons.In the grand scheme of things a few missing icons is not going to end the world but it is bugging me..  Any ideas  ?   Could try absolute path for the one CSS file  ?

Every time I open my html file to edit code, it is always adding extra '>' character at the end of my code.Like this:</body></html>>>>When I removed the extra '>' and run the code on my machine it is working well. The extra '>' will only added when I re-open the file in Dreamweaver 2017 CC.What would be the possible cause of this? Does anyone know how to reliably do this? It seems to be pretty haphazard what you can edit and what you can't in Live mode. Sometimes you can select and edit some text, sometimes you can't. Other times, in split screen, you can't edit the live pane but you can go into the code section and change it there. Other times, it's like it's part of a non editable template region even though it is editable.This wouldn't be an issue but I've been doing more and more sites using Bootstrap 3 and these sites are difficult to work with in Design view, but show up fine in Live mode. But then I can't edit many of the elements properly. I do seem to be able to go into the DOM tab and copy, paste items and I can go into the Bootstrap tab and insert more Bootstrap elements, but if all I want to do is change the price on a client's taxidermy page for example, sometimes yes, sometimes no. I started learning Dreamweaver CC 2015 about a year ago and have ploughed my way through countless tutorials.I am a designer not a coder but somehow have managed to create a reasonable-looking test site for my client. Dear all,I want to make a change across a website that lacks a template (www.23nlpeople.com).  There are about 300 pages. It's the little video that isnt showing on the right hand column.The code of the video is strangely complicated and is different on every page (why the designer didnt use an embedded youtube iframe, i just don't know).  What this means is that a find-and-replace-all isn't possible. BUT, the code is in the same line position on every page....is there a way to change the html for this video to the preferred one without doing each page individually?I'm using CS5.5Thanks in advance,Andy

So Spry is gone in DW CC. Spry of course made deploying menus very quick and easy. Does anyone have any suggestions for an equivalent tool for menus using Jquery? Thanks

i am trying to implement  rollover type image(s) on a basic webpage!Scenarioa picture of an illustration, where there is a car... I give a color pallet though and the visitor is able to mouse over the pallet. as doing so the image changes to match (mouseover) color... say a white car, they run the mouse over the blue on the pallet and the image is now a blue car. If that is what they want to select... they click on it and the default image is now a BLUE car... etc etc... with approx 40 colors to choose from...  i cant figure it out, i tried it in Flash and it worked well, but is a ton of work incorporating all image variations into it.,Im hoping there is an easier way to do it in standard page formats..I guess very similar to ford and gm sites, where you build your car and it changes images for youAnyone have any idea?..I am using Dreamweaver CC2017thanks in advance!!

I have tried to do the above to no avail.  I liked the ability to use the split code, etc.  But liked (and became familiar) with the Dreamweaver CS6 workspace.  What can I do to mimic the old workspace that I loved so much?   Thanks, Tripp

I have an issue with a site I am working on, all the details store ok, however once I close the app and reopen Dreamweaver, I can no longer connect to the remote server that I am working on. Checking the remote site details panel shows that the site username and password are blank, and I have to reenter them again. Hi Adobe,I had the same issue , now its fixed. how ever i have notice some of tools are not visible they used to be, example some of css properties like float left or right are not visible after u click them. I have a windows 10 pc. Whenever i try to open Dreamweaver or Photoshop cc, my computer says: "Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017 has stopped working". I have tried to uninstall Dreamweaver CC, and restarted my computer multiple times. My pc only lets me close it after its open. What can i do to make it work again?

I am currently trying to host my website on Go Daddy through cPanel. I uploaded my files (css and html) on cPanel but when I double click on the pages to make them appear online, their format is completely wrong and doesn't look like the Dreamweaver format at all. I called their help service and they told me that I had to ask Dreamweaver to put my files through FTP but I don't really know what that means. Could someone help me with that? Thank you!
