[Using DW CC 17.0.1 on macOS Sierra]Earlier this week, I set up a Testing Server on three of sixteen directories, with the help of Nancy Oshea and Jon Fritz. However, I see that my setup efforts haven't been successful. When I right-click a file in the Files panel and choose "Open in browser" to see locally any of the files in those three directories, I cannot connect to the newly created localhost and I get this error message on my browsers. . .Note: When I do similarly to pages in the other thirteen directories — that don't currently have a Test Server on a localhost set up on them — those pages open as they should in browsers. So, obviously, I've not set up the Testing Server in those three directories correctly.I've since contacted my host/server to resolve this, but the technician would only confirm that my definition was incorrectly set up but couldn't advise me on how to personally set up the localhost.So, who can help me correctly set up my Testing Server on those three directo

I'm using Win 10 and haven't had an issue with Dreamweaver CS5.5 until today. When launched, it goes to a grey screen. I can still access the tabs at the top, but can't access my folders that were usually on the bottom right corner which means I can't update my personal web site? Any suggestions?? Thanks!

I was wondering if I could have some help with finding the folder to allow me to have custom fonts for my webpage. I've got the right directory/folder area. But when I open it up in the add fonts pop up box. It will not appear for some reason. But every other folder in that area appears. Is there something I'm missing or not doing correctly? Hi,How can I select a tag in Code View when I'm in the middle of it using only the keyboard?  For example, if I'm adding a class, how can I select the tag such that I can wrap it with Control-T?When my cursor is at the | spot<input class="added class|" type="submit">I'd like to press a shortcut to have <input> selected.  Then, I'd like to be able to Control-T to wrap in a <div> or Control-[ to move to a parent.Thank you

Please HELP,New to dreamweaver and trying to simply delete unused files from the welcome screen, which seems to be an impossible task to do.All I want is to delete those files that have been used as practice and/or are 'uncorrected' coded etc. it should be a simple 'select/delete' but all I get is a message that the file has not been found, so I believe that is deleting the content but not erasing it from the welcome screen, as the file name is still displayed, is extremely frustrating, in particular when one is new to it.Thank youPS. MAC user.

If I make my web design in Illustrator, can I then import that file to dreamweaver and "get" the coding for uploading to web/internet.I work at a Mac 🙂

I'm using the trial version of Dreamweaver CC 2017. And unable to find the menu option for link a database. Pls help.

Two problems:1.) slow response in typing means I have to wait for the code I type to render on screen before typing the next line or the next word sometimes,  and it's getting very frustrating! I type code by hand without much regard for looking at my screen while I type.  I walk away from my computer to get coffee now and come back to se it's still trying to keep up with me.. And this is on a 2 day old Macbook Pro!2.) code high lighting!?!?!  is there a way to turn this off.  I've turned off all the code highlighting options I could find and still it persists!  HELP!!!!!!  I can't see my own code because the colors are atrocious! 

I have a subsite (a 2nd website we're building) in a folder within the root folder.My partner created this subsite and the libraries on her computer, with Dreamweaver 5.  I have Dreamweaver CC (Mac).I downloaded her subsite, but the libraries didn't work for me (I tried to open them, and dreamweaver said it could not find them).  When I re-link them, they show up, but the pages won't update when I change the library.On her computer, the library path was simply /Library/nav.lbi  (even though it was in the same subsite folder setup as I have it on my system)When I pull them onto my computer, the library in my subsite folder ends up with the path: subsite/Library/nav.lbiWhen I drag the new library into a page, it shows up, but if I edit the library it does not update on the page.I've re-done the cache and the preferences, no change.Do I have to put these subsite libraries in the root library, mixed in with the other website? even though all the pages are in the subsite fold

I've been using Dreamweaver since it was a Macromedia product. Each update things change, and that's good.2017 has many changes that I am trying to get used to. One of which the File View window. In previous versions, I would see my local and hosted files along with their date and size. Those details are no longer in the window I am looking at currently. This information was very helpful.Is there a way to get them to show up again? I looked in preferences but do not see a way.

I am stuck in the water and can't do any ftp to my host.  One hosting is Readyhosting and they are stumped as to what the issue is.  I have been getting an error "Cannot make connection to host."  The error I get in the admin to test my passwords is "Cannot make connection to host. Your login or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information."    This would all be fine except I am getting the same error on 6 different sites.   Any suggestions or fixes?  If not I will either have to buy an new ftp program or go back some versions in Dreamweaver to get my work done.  Clients are not happy!!!!!

When I click within a tag, the text up to the closing tag becomes highlighted:I do not find this helpful at all, it's very distracting and I loose all of my code highlighting, is there anyway to disable the feature?

[Using macOS Sierra]I very much appreciate the value and benefit of Real-Time Preview. However, when I try to activate it on some .html pages of many of my available directories, a blank-white preview opens with the title "Real Time Preview."It's extremely frustrating (and a waste of time) for me to find that a new or revised page cannot be opened using Real-Time Preview. Add to that the duplicated effort and wasted time needed to make to create a duplicate page with a TEST name, uploading and checking that page online, then applying the changes to the original page before deleting it when the page revisions are completed and uploaded. What a waste!Why is Real-Time Preview appearing only occasionally after selecting hat feature? What keeps it from working reliably?More importantly, will Adobe Systems show [us] how to get Real-Time Preview to cooperate reliably as it should on all available web pages?Sincerely,Warren

I made changes to a web page in Dreamweaver and uploaded it to the server. When I look at it in Safari I don't see the changes. It looks the same as it did before I made the changes. Same thing with Firefox. The changes DO show up in Chrome and Opera. In Safari I used the Empty Caches command in the Develop menu but that didn't do anything.

I'd like help learning if I can do something to make my efforts at working with web pages that have library items much easier and more productive. I have two initial concerns.1.  To update a several pages at once, I go from Tools > Library > Update Pages. The Update Pages window that open has two filtering options: One is the "Look in" menu, which has only two options, "Entire site" and "Files that use." There's no drop-down option to select one of numerous directories in a site. Therefore, my entire site gets examined regarding whether pages having library items need to be updated. Isn't there a way to make that so-called "filter" perform as a genuine "filter"? Might developers plan to improve that limitation?2.  That same "Update Pages" window cannot be made wider or taller (on MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra)! I've been trying to find out how to add my Insert toolbar in the 2017 version (instead of having it just as a menu item). I saw in another post that someone used the Dreamweaver CC: Restore the Classic Insert Bar tutorial and it worked for them but I can't seem to get it to work for me. Am I missing something?

Hello,I downloaded an update to DW CC recently and am now seeing a new colour when text is highlighted in HTML Source Code. The text is displayed in white with a light green background It isn't easy to read. I've tried resetting colours in Preferences/Highlighting but can't locate an option for that source text.Any advice please?Gary Martin

I am bidding on a study abroad website which will use an open-source CMS with some very powerful extensions to enable a full-fledged social networking site wallowing students to register an account (using an email link sent to them), log in and create user profile, upload photos, video, etc., email or private message other students, etc. The university of course wants to protect student private data, so they are asking about integrating this with their single login. However, I am at a loss to know how to code this, let alone figure out how the CMS login system with its email notifications could even function properly under such conditions. I was more under the impression that the website would be on its own LAMP server and that the university tech guy would install some sort of Web Application Firewall to protect student private data.

Ok I have a DW document which I need to wrap text  inside. I actually have a div there that is doing it but I need for it to behave like thissee image screenshots.SHOT 1 WHEN BROWSER IS MADE SMALLER THE TEXT WRAPS FINE BUT I NEED THE TEXT TO NEVER BE WIDER THAN THE IMAGE FOLLOW?SHOT TWO IS THE BROWSER SMALLER BUT THE IMAGE IS ALWAYS SMALLER THAN THE TEXTSHOT THREE IS WHERE I NEED THE TEXT TO BEGIN WRAPPING THIS PROJECT WAS EXPORTED FRIOM INDESIGN AND I HAVE THE HEADER IMAGE SET TO FLOW WITH THE TEXT.I KNOW A BIT ABOUT CSS BUT NEED A WRAPPER SET TO % BUT CANT GET ONE TO WORK. I am having the same problem with Dreamweaver.  I can't connect to my FTP server.  I can, however, connect thru FileZilla.  I would prefer to stay within Dreamweaver to transfer files.  Hopefully someone can answer this problem soon.

Hi People,I must have inadvertently changed some kind of display setting,because now in DW's split or "live" view, I get a blue outline surroundingeverything I click on; it shows a little blue box with class ID, etcon the upper left.I really dislike this particular editing mode, and want to go backto the way I've been editing in DW for 10 years or more.Can anyone tell me how to turn this feature off?Thanks!(ps using in Mac / Yosemite)
