Forgive me if this is a silly question. I haven't used Dreamweaver in quite a number of years and I am much more of a hobbiest than anything else.I am maintaining my wife's photography site for her. The page header is common across all pages, while the content may, for my simplicity, run several layers deep in a heirarchy. I would like for things like css, scripts, common elements to be maintained in folders at the site level, so I can always reference the menu css as "/css/menu.css". This works fine in a webserver, but in the Dreamweaver live/split mode it does not find it.I can force it to find the files by using relative links, but I'd prefer not to maintain these.I have defined a local site path, and for images I have created the images folder in the advanced set up.Is there something I am missing, or do I have to revert to relative links - certainly doable, but more maintenance.Thanks 

I have the CDs and the serial number, but looks like Adobe is not allowing to intall this anymore. Previously, I recollect getting an exe installer when you registered the serial key on adobe.com. Now, that option seems no longer available. Its really frustrating as I have the genuine copy with the serial key and everything and its not alowing me to install. Can someone or even Adobe team make changes so we can use genuine old copies which always worked until now!!

I've been in chat with GoDaddy for 2 hours and they seem to think the issue is with Dreamweaver. I try to connect to my remote site and get an FTP error (that the passwords and account do not match) and cannot connect. I tried all the things I could find, verifying the password and account, toggling on and off settings. I even deleted the site in the site manager and made a new one. Still not connecting. Nothing in the FTP log either. GoDaddy did just migrate the site to new servers. Anyone else having the problem?

I am new to using DW21, and want to connect to a MySQL Database, I am using GoDaddy as the Hosting company and have created a Database and Forms using cPanel and phpMyAdmin.I have created a Form in DW21 and want to submit the data to the Database. In previous versions of DW I could setup a Connection, but DW21 seems to be different - or have I missed something?Is the preferred method to have a local database as part of the Site, or to use the SQL database provided by GoDaddy?I will continue to search youtube videos etc but thought I would ask the Community

Hi there,I'm having a hard time using the CSS auto compilation for SCSS. I have just one scss file and it has been working like a charm in my current project for the last month or so, but now I just get the error: NoMethodError: undefined method `[]' for nil:NilClass on line – – and column 1 I can't see any error in my scss what so ever, and Dreamweaver don't give me any input that something should be wrong either. How do I debug this?!

I have only room for one monitor (unfortunately) and use the SPLIT view... but I find this space very limiting for coding. Most of my changes I type in code view, but I like seseing live view update. I would prefer to change from code and live views with the button, but it's a bit slow, so I'm wondering if there is a simple shortcut key to change back and fourth... or if there isn't, can I assign one and where? (Preferences?)

Hi all, I need help with a problem that needs to be solved quickly. I have a website with pages in 3 subfolders, and the dropdown links do not work when clicked on in page within those folders. Here is my folder structure:Main-->first folder-->html pages         -->second folder-->html pages         -->third folder-->html pagesFor the links in the subfolders, I edited the links accordingly, but I am not sure why only the dropdown links on those pages are not working. The single links are working, as do the linked css and bootstrap files, which are in their own css and js folders. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Hi,I'ts been some tome since I last logged in to my site adn now I get the follwoing error:An FTP error...cannot open server folder. I asked the site support for assistance, they alsked me to try both "/home/vcmeospf/domains/dnd-production.com/public_html/" & "public_html/" as the specified root directory (""public_html/"  ws the one which always used to wokr.They also resett the folder permission. I tried looging in, usign the same credintial, wiht FileZilla and had no problem connecting.I tried disablinbg my firewall and it did not solve th eissue.The user name & passworkd are correct. If I try another password I ger an error telling me the password is wrong. What else Can I try? 

 Hi All...Just after a little advice on something that is beyond my skill set.I'm trying to design something which can be sent as an image VIA SMS, but when you view it/open it on a mobile device, it allows you to click on it and links to a webpage.I know I can send a link of a webpage to someone but in doing this it doesn't have the specific image I want to send them... So basically, can you send a jpeg that links to a website?Maybe I'm trying to do the impossoble or maybe it is something simple that I'm overlooking?Or is there another way of doing this that I may just not seeing?Help. In this ever evolving world in which tech software is consistently making it easier for everyone to build their own websites by way of dragging and clicking, I would like to know the benefits of being skilled at Dreamweaver for web building vs. that of the pop-up drag/click sites. Will Dreamweaver be useful 10-15 years from now or will this type of web building with code become extinct with just my wasted time invested into it? I need to know will people still pay for web building in the future when they can easily do it themselves????

I have a very frustrating problem. When I open the site setup window to specify the remote and local servers, and I click away from this window to copy and paste a password from e.g. notepad, the site setup window disappears. I presume it is behind the main Dreamweaver window but I cannot minimise this window to get to the window behind it. I cannot click on anything on the main DW window at this point. I have to force shutdown DW via task manager and start again.Any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?I'm using Windows 10 and the latest DW (downloaded as part of Adobe Cloud subscription).RegardsHennie

Why is it that when I go into my site selector in the Files screen, instead of seeing only the sites I've set up, I'm seeing all my drives, all my Mac Time-Machine backups, all sorts of other items along with the sites that should be in there.  Dozens and dozens of nonrelated items.  When I go into my site manager, though, all I see are the sites I've set up, as it should be.  It's really annoying to have to scroll through all those items that shouldn't be there just to get to the one I want.  I've been using DreamWeaver for over 20 years, and this has just started happening. See the attached image for just a partial list of what shouldn't be showing in the site selector menu. Thanks.

My 2021 version of DW is not displaying the default code colors. I have tried all the interface fixes with no luck. Please see screen shot of the issue.

Hola a todos y a todas, Quisiera saber si se puede (y como hacerlo) cambiar la ubicación de la previsualización en vivo de Dreamweaver, tengo un monitor ultrapanorámico, muy ancho y no en exceso alto, y la verdad es que me va muy mal tenerlo arriba cuando sería fabuloso poder tenerlo a la derecha ya que podría programar sin problemas con medio monitor y ver el resultado en la otra mitad. ¿Se puede hacer eso? ¡Muchas gracias!
