Dreamweaver

Hello, After replacing my desktop with a new machine, due to a recent crash, I worked with my host unsuccessfully for hours to regain my ability to edit my DW site, matthewjablonski.com. In the past, if any revisions were made, I would be prompted before publication - it worked great. Now, no matter what, I get a window, saying that no edits were made. Shown on the screen shot, below, halfway down, I've added an h2 tag, showing the text, "TEST 1," in the html area. On my right-hand side, I included the published site showing it in visual form. Notice that the "TEST 1" is not present, anywhere, but I would assume it would probably be somewhere under the "COLOR on the Rails" text, if it had worked correctly.On the bottom left-hand side, I included DW's window, after I tried to publish the page. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Matthew

The screenshot is from main.less file, where I have managed to customize the column with the row numbers, editing those two default values. However I need one more fine-touch: As you can see, the code is too close to the right-border of the column. Is there a way to add a 2-3px gap in between?Thanks

I've been working on a file functions file for months.  All the tests are going well.  Now that I'm finally ready to take it site-wide and overwrite the old file, everything is going wonky. First, when I "save as" and overwrite the new file, visually, the new file is messed up.  I can copy/paste individual functions from the new file to the newly overwritten file and that kind of helps but then it creates other problems.  Some functions can be minimized visually, but others can't (but everything works in the identical other file that I copied this one from).So I tried just copy/pasting it manually in windows explorer, going outside of dreamweaver.  But still when I open the file it's all wonky, and when I try to upload it to the server it says:File Transfer failed due to following reasons:- Internal data error, possibly because of failure to start the upload.(other files upload fine).It seems like dreamweaver might have some weird caching around this older

Hi there!  I have the physical software for Dreamweaver CS5 but, due to the software having been on old computer (which I no longer have access to), I constantly am being asked for a serial number.  When I put in the one I have, it says it's already used on 2 computers.  So, there's nothing I can do right now to access this software and support said there's nothing they can provide.  Any ideas on how to handle this?  Thank you!

Hi everyone, Does anyone know what's happened to Project Seven? Their site is down. Has Gerry pulled the plug and moved on to something else? What a shame. I migrated a few sites over to WP using Bricks Builder, which I like, but nothing compares to P7's addons. Hi,I have a local website which got pretty cluttered over the years, duplicate pages, unused images. I will keep a copy of it for resources, but wish I could work from a clean website while retaining all the elements present in the libraries.There is a great feature in InDesign which allows to export a clean document without orphan files. Is there something similar in Dreamweaver? Or would that work by importing the website ?Thanking you for any hint on how to proceed !Kind regards, Paul

Hi everybody, this is a bit of a niche question I know but does anybody know if it is possible to set the line hight of Urdu text closer together than the default when a line of text does not have any tall letters in it? If you have a line of text which does not have any tall letters in, like the second line in the example below, this would reduce the space above it and make it to go closer to the line of text above it. According to sources I have found online when you set the leading, the distance in height between lines of text, in css, negative values are not allowed. Does that mean there is no way of getting rid of the space above a line of text that has no tall letters in it! I am using Dreamweaver version 21.6 Build 15711 and frequently the copy and paste fail to paste the text copied from code view. Closing Dreamweaver and opening it again does not solve the problem.  The only way I have found to get Dreamweaver to work properly again is to close dream and reboot my Windows 11 PC.  Something is seriously wrong with the new version of Dreamweaver. After 26 years, I am about to stop using Adobe products and switch to something more reliable.   The "scanning for related files function" is not user friendly.  When I try to save a code file while the scanning is running I get the message, "Cannot save documents while scanning for related files".  The scan does not give the option to pause the scan to permit one to save and continue.  The scan takes too long to complete.  The only way I gave found to break out and save is to try to close the file you are trying to save and then canceling the close with stop the scan so yo

For some files in Dreamweaver when i publish i get the following error:File Transfer failed due to following reasons:- Internal data error: Transferred file size does not match the expected file size.It only does it for some files and not others. When it errors it also removes the file from the server.I have tested with Filezila and it publishes the files fine with no issues so the issue is definately Dreamweaver.It can work on a file all morning and then once it fails once it will never let you publish it even if you delete and try again.The server hosts say there is nothing they can do , please can you explain how i can stop this happening.Here is example log for a .htm file i was trying to publish:Started: 12/07/2023 16:24.htm - Transferring.htm - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put .htm. Created a new html file, did as Save As to abc.htm  then later wanted to change the name so did File Save as xyz.htm  I entered the "htm" both times as say abc.htm or xyz.htm as the save as file type box has all different types listed separated by commas (or semi colons). After the second save as I upload both to my web server and when I type the url for xyz.htm I get File not found but it is fine when the url is abc.htm   On the server I renamed xyz.htm to xyz_orig.htm and then renamed abc.htm to xyz.htm. then xyz.htm loads fine. although in filezilla on my local drive it shows the files as having htm extensions, I am suspicious that the second save as caused it to save xyz.htm.htm

Whenever i want to connect to FTP in dreamweaver on my Dektop Mac Studio M4 Max it doesn't work. Just hangs and keeps trying. So the weird solution is:I have to open my wifes Mac Air, sign with the same FTP details on Filezilla and it connects on the spot. Then i return to my Desktop Mac studio, try again to connect FTP in Dreamweaver and it connects directly without any problem .... Then after a while it disconnects and again without Ftp on my Desktop. So i open the Macbook air from my wife again, connect to the same FTP details in Filezilla and after that i can connect again on dreamweaver on my computer. I have contacted my ISP but they doen't get why it behaves that way. Why can i only connect FTP on Dreamweaver on my desktop when i connect with the same FTP on Filezilla on my wifes laptop ....Any idea why?  

My sites have a template which in the past was easy to edit and those changes would populate across the site like they are supposed to. However, now it almost seems like the template is disconnected. I no longer get a prompt to update all the pages based on that template and can't seem to find a way to ask it to do this. I didn't make any changes (that I'm aware of :-)) to my "process and procedure" for workflow, the sites, file locations, not a new computer, etc. Probably something simple, any help is appreciated.

Hi everybody, my copy of Dreamweaver, (2021), as stopped working. This started yesterday. When I open it, it never opens! It just stops responding and you just have to force quit the application. Is this version out of date or is there some other reason for the issue? Thanks for your help.

I've been working on the footer for my website and have all the links I need underneath the headers, but when I try to center it the longer links move over to the side and down like there's an indent. The shorter links center fine, it's just the longer ones. I'm trying to create a column based footer, where each section of links make up a column that goes across the page. @migos:     Can Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 function with the Windows Pro 11 operating system?   So far I keep trying to tweak the settings in order to figure out why I keep getting this message whenever I attempt to upload a website page modification:   "An FTP error occurred. Cannot make connection to host. The remotehost cannot be found." As background, I still use the same webhost that I've used for nearly 2 decades.   But I switched computers and uploaded Dreamweaver CS6 to it.   Meanwhile last December Microsoft uploaded Windows 11 Pro onto my computer, you know, for my own benefit.   I had not yet begun trying to use Dreamweaver CS6 on my replacement computer.         If anyone here has managed to get CS5 or CS6 Adobe to function on Windows 11 Pro, please let me know so I won't give up and switch website modification brands.   I spent over $1,000 on Dreamweaver over the years and I

Hi everyone, a) My live view stopped working after I gradually changed my website from plain HTML to PHP. The same page works fine as xxx.html, but with xxx.php I get the following error:“An unknown error occurred while searching for dynamically related files.” b) The browser preview no longer works either, and the QR code for previewing on mobile is also not showing up anymore. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it? Thanks in advance for any help!

ALL of my media queries on my portfolio site work magnificantally when viewed on a desktop or laptop. However, one of its pages won't adjust when viewed on a moble device, while the rest will. Is there a logical reason for this? If yes, how should I go about fixing it? Matthew

When using split view, I sometimes need to locate another line of code in HTML.  I click where I want to be in HTML by clicking on the web page view where I want to edit. Sometimes when I click on a specific line, Dreamweaver returns me to the HTML code I was editing previously.One time, it happened four times in a row, I click on one part of the page, web view moves to that part of the page, click on what I want to edit, and dreamweaver returns me to where I was and not what I want to edit.This has been happening for before and after the last two updates.  Absolutely fustrating
