The current, 10, is too few today, especially after you've gone hunting for Project ASDJISOAH#@KFD for the past hour and need to get back to what you were working on earlier this/that/then hour; sometime earlier today. It'd be great if this number can be set in the Prefs Dialog. For me, a nice big dialog showing up to 30-50 AEPs; with their last Time Opened and Time Closed values will be really useful for humanity. It's also the least expensive way to timetravel and I strongly/humbly suggest this is a good way moving forward while being able to judiciously move backward.😄
i would like to add a feature or hot key to quickly move objects with its key frames as whole from point to point without adding a new keyframe. like if i want to move an object that start moving from left to right, i can move it from down to up with the same keyframe configurations.
I was wondering how there isn't a keyboard shortcut in AE to toggle the transparency grid. I still have to use the mouse to turn it on and off and was wondering if that ability could ever be added.
If I have a complex effect with a lot of keyframed properties, it can be tricky to find its keyframes in the timeline (coloured labels for keyframes are a big help). To make life easier, it would be lovely to be able to click a property in the effects control panel, and have it appear highlighted in the timeline. I know I can use "u" to reveal all the layer's keyframes, but if I've animated a lot of the layer's properties, it can still be hard to search through and find the specific property, and being able to reveal it by clicking the property in the ECP would alleviate this. Right-clicking a prooerty in the ECP and doing "reveal in timeline" kind of works, but tends to reveal a whole load of properties, not just the selected one.
Hi,Would it be possible to add this kind of feature into After Effect in future?Lets call it "Global Switches", how it should work:- we are creating a single "global switch"- under it we can search for every effect- after finding effect we want we are clicking OK and the one global switch is created- we can rename it for example "CC Force Motion Blur"- right now, every time we check/uncheck out "CC Force Motion Blur" global switchevery "CC Force Motion Blur" effect in our project or comosition will be turned on/off This would help turning on/off effects that can take a long time to render, and we want to make a quick preview..
Hello, dear Adobe, please add smooth zoom in composition view like it is in Photoshop or Illustration. Current solusion is limited to certain fixed zoom levers and between 50% and 100% there is no extra step like 75% while between 1,5% and 50% there are 5 seteps which is pretty odd.
I am writing to propose a new feature that I believe would greatly benefit the After Effects community, particularly those creating Motion Graphics templates (MOGRTs): the ability to set multiple text styles using expressions within a single text layer in the source text.Implementing this feature would offer several advantages: Streamlined Workflow: Enabling multiple text styles in one layer would save time and reduce project complexity by eliminating the need for multiple text layers.Greater Customization: Creators would have more control over text elements, allowing for more dynamic and visually appealing content.Enhanced Compatibility with Premiere Pro: Simplifying text layer management would facilitate seamless editing and modification of templates in both applications.User-friendly Template Creation: Multi-style text layers would allow for simpler templates with fewer layers, making them easier for clients and other users to understand and use.Precise Style Control for MOGRT
pls add turkish language to after effects 2025 for ur turkish customers
Request to please return to using the highlight colour in the new Spectrum UI to denote if these toggles are active. The new design of a mid-grey background for the button isn't visible enough.
The new-ish ability to import .glb and .gltf files is pretty cool, but I find it a bit limiting. I want the ability to get a matte of certain parts of my model like you would if you rendered out a cryptomatte or puzzle matte pass. Is this possible, Adobe?
I would be great to have a Merge function for Shape Layers, in stead of the hassle to collect all shapes manually in one layer.
In my Project, I always create a Folder called 'Output'.In that Folder all final Comps are collected in subfolders.I would love to have te possibility to render this output folder and let Ae re-create the complete project hierarchy on my disk. Now I have to do that by hand, or specify subfolders as output folder over and over.
When using the roto brush, once you're happy with your result you click on 'Freeze'. Once it's finished 'freezing' it still says 'freeze'. I suggest that this should now say 'Un-freeze'. It's a small thing, but it's bothered me forever.
Now that After Effects is slowly introducing features that free the user up from the horrors of layer-based compositing (e,g, the new pick-wip track matte feature), it's time that a compositing option was introduced that allows an effect to be matted using the luma or alpha of another layer. Logically, this would exist in the current drop-down that allows masks to reveal/hide an effect. In addition to using masks, there could be an option to use a layer, with a pick-wip to select, and buttons for luma/alpha and invert, just like the current track matte options. Currently the closest way of doing this is to use an adjustment layer and track matte but it can quickly get very messy and that method has many limitations especially once a composition uses 3D layers.
The Gradient Ramp effect becomes a lot more versatile when a blending mode / compositing mode dropdown menu would be added.
Enable CTRL/CMD + Backspace to delete entire word left of cursor on layer/folder names & text boxes which would greatly increase workflow / organization speeds in After Effects and Premiere. Currently when you hit the keyboard command you insert what's either an unknown character or just a box that reads as a space when you close the edit, which isn't as useful and if that's a needed command it could be assigned to something that isn't already a standard and regular use command within an OS. So at the very least being able to reassign the command would be extremely useful but it doesn't show up in the keyboard commands as an option.
It's currently impossible within expressions to set the width or height of a Paragraph Text box. This would be a massively helpful feature for text-based templates and animations.
There is an issue with how layer duplication currently works, and I got myself confused. However, an Adobe employee suggested submitting this as a new Idea. The IdeaEither make the duplicates appear under the original by default, or create a checkbox that enables this behavior in the Properties. Alternatively, add a separate command/hotkey (e.g., Alt+D). It would be even better if users could also specify how many layers to duplicate, perhaps on a dedicated panel/tab. Additionally, please add the missing condition check that causes the issue. The IssueThe issue impacts the attached Effects that contain pulldown attributes for layer selection (propertyValueType == 6421), e.g., SetMatte or CC Composite. If that property points to its host layer (i.e., self, index n) and the layer gets duplicated, the host layer moves one position down to index n+1. Yet, the Effect still points to index n, not n+1, which breaks the behavior of the Effect. How Will the Idea Help My Workflow?
Might be a pretty Niche feature request, but its been bugging me for a while, that Im not able to manipulate the blending mode via expressions or keyframes. In my specific case, I work with data driven animation and Im changing the color of a layer based on certain conditions. My layer has to be either Red, Green, Blue or Silhouette Alpha. My workaround for now is creating an extra layer above my main layer, that has its blending mode to Silhouette Alpha and matte it to that layer. Then I add an expression to that layers opacity, to make it turn on/off based on the conditions. Apart from my usecase I think it could also add a lot of creative flexibility being able to animate between all the different blending modes.
I wanna link each key to an In or Out point. If I change the In point, the position of all keys change
When working with the region Of Interest, unfortunately there is no shortcut to crop. Please add that to the contextual menu when right clicking the icon.
Hi. Is there any way to lock a shape? I have quite complex layer with lots of shapes and when ever I try to select the layer and move it, it selects shape points and tries to move those. It's quite anoying. Only way to move it is with arrow keys on keyboard. So, is there a trick for this? Mikko
Everytime I open a library in AE it gives me this tooltip that sometimes doesn't even go away with 1 click. Firstly - make the library window remember the last library openSecondly - remove the redundant tooltip from EVERY library use
It would be great to be able to set a customisable quantize grid that we can snap keyframes to when working with music. Similar to how a beat grid works in any standard music DAW.
