Editing smart collection criteria is cumbersome. Write an edit utility that runs outside Lightroom. Make this utility open source (e.g. github) so people can enhance it.
List out all the unique photos in each catalog and all the photos contained in both catalogs. For duplicates, list out the DEVELOP history and highlight differences.
I see a lot of questions about features and configuration in the BOOK module. Third party plug-ins could address many of these points.
Facial Recognition has serious issues, and in my experince, often suggests the wrong name for a person.
I use the filmstrip in the map module, but never in the library view or the develop module. It would be desirable if it is remembered module-specifically whether the filmstrip was shown or not.
Hello After upgrading to LR Classic 11 (Windows 10 21H1) I realized that the icons for crop/resize, repair tool and the new masking functionality are too small on my 4k screen - on my second monitor (2k resolution) everything looks fine. I attached a screenshot: Left = 4k screen, Right = 2k screen. Can you check and fix this for the next release? Thanks, Thomas
Hi all. In order to jump directly into HDR editing we could have a practical "Create HDR Virtual Copy" option in the "Photo" menu. I suggest also to assign the following KBSC for the option: Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + ' Without an Adobe kbsc one could still assign a custom kbsc to the option via Any Shortcut by @johnrellis I know we can do the taks in 2 steps "Create VC > activate HDR" but I think the most common and best workflow is to create a VC for HDR so the option and the direct KBSC would be practical. Creating a HDR VC could also be achievable by "Shift + click HDR button = VC is created with that mode already enabled" .
Lightroom displays a histogram as a line chart with semi-transparent areas under the curve making it easy to see each individual series. Lightroom Classic displays an area chart for its histogram making it impossible to see hidden details of those series behind the front ones. Is there a way to configure Lightroom Classic to be the same style chart?
I suggest to implement the ability to hover over a History Step and/or Snapshot to preview them full screen. This would be like the Hover Preview for Presets but for History Steps and Snapshots. I understand this would a be an intensive task and could be slower than for presets but it would be still better than actually having to click/summon the History Step or Snapshot to view them full screen.
I love the Color Grading tool - which is a global edit - to highlights, midtones, shadows, and global. I often use this tool to get my whole image the right color feel. It would be really useful if there were also an additional color grading tool for masked areas, such as when I wish to adjust masked skin tones. The global Color Grading tool (and global Calibration tool) provides much better color control, for my uses, than the color options available in Masking ("color temp, tint, hue").
I use the Develop Panels in Solo mode to avoid scrolling. The problem I run into is when I'm in my rapid workflow, I click to expand the 'Basic' panel but often end up choosing one of the tools that lives directly above it. I'd like to see a little separation between expanding the Basic panel and the tools that live between it and the histogram panel. The histogram panel gets a little separator between it and the tools, but the same courtesy isn't given to the Basic panel directly below. I know I could be more careful with my cursor, but it feels like there shouldn't be so much crammed in there anyway. Thanks
Hi All, I have a request to have the option of having the before view in the Enhance menu to show the image with the default / basic and/or the applied noise reduction setting you have made before. This way you can compare the image noise reduction with ENR versus the noise reduction in ACR / Develop panel. Right now the enhanced before preview shows the image without any processing / camera raw presets, which no matter how noisy the image is would be a mess anyway. It would be better to actually be able to compare how the image looks in lightroom with the default noise reduction. If this could be a feature or a setting in preferences that would be great. Thanks!
While Lightroom has ‘Open as Smart Object in Photoshop’ and ‘Open as Layers in Photoshop’, there is no ‘Open as Smart Object Layers in Photoshop’ I do quite a bit of compositing work in PS, and use LR for asset management and preparation. I prefer to insert them into PS as smart objects while I assemble the composites, so I can make final raw file adjustments once placed in situ. However, the only current option to export to PS as smart objects puts them all in separate PS documents, which can be tedious to combine when there are a large volumes of images to be inserted in a single composite. I’m not sure if this is an easy fix, or if other people have similar desires, but I would greatly appreciate if you would considering adding ‘Open as Smart Object Layers in Photoshop’ to a future LR CC update.
hi, I would like to be able to add the new noise reduction AI feature to preset during importation. I know it will take a lot of time with a lot of photos. but at least I can do somethink else during the process versus do 3000 pictures one by one. or select them after import ... it's just me that need that ?
Yeah, I took the title straight from the "How To Write a Feature Request" post. Sometime in the past stylus pressure was supported when using the brush tool. I forget the exact details, but think it might have varied the opacity of the applied brush. In the current version of Lightroom Classic the pressure feature of my Wacom stylus is ignored in Lightroom Classic. I've two use cases for pressure sensitivity when using the brush maskiung tool: 1) Sometimes I'd like to be able to adjust brush size; but mostly 2) I'd like to be able to adjust brush flow. I suspect some might want to adjust feathering, too. Please Adobe, add back support for stylus pressure in Lightroom Classic.
After a conversation with support I would like to sugest an 'Auto Optomise Catalogue' option. proberbly on a schedule weekly/monthly etc with on opening or on closing for example.
On light subjects, the white alignment lines are difficult to see and use. I'd like the ability to change the color of the lines to make it easier to see the lines when using the Guided Transform tool in LrC.
I would like the ability to right-click a Collection in LrC and then click on Synch to Cloud. I find it difficult to mark a Collection for synching, even on a 27" iMac with my aging eyes. The current "arrow" symbol is small and the area to click to start synching a Collection is small.
It would be grand to have a single button press that focuses the camera and then captures images while tethering. I am nowhere near my camera so can't control it physically and the two button, only pressable with a mouse solution to focus the camera and then capture the image is really slowing down the process. The Nikon tethering software gives the option to select "Focus/Capture" or "Capture" which is what I am after. At the very least, onlock these functionalities into the menus so that they can be mapped into a Mac keyboard shortcut.
I was editing and realized this would be a really cool helping hand, if for instance one could, on import, say to lightroom to apply "20" luminance noise reduction on any photo over 3200 iso for example, it would be a cool timesaver! This feature could also work with sharpening for example, determining values of sharpening for X iso, it could be a list that we could add an ISO value and for that value a correspondent Sharpening and Noise Reduction Setting. It should also be an option after import, given that some users, might have the need to adjust these settings last and not on import! People and Photographers, who go trough large sets of features would probably appreciate this feature 🙂
The Sort Unnamed By: option underneath the People module has decent options, but a hybrid between the first two options (Suggested Name and Filmstrip Order) would be ideal. The suggested name option often randomly adds incorrect suggestions in the middle of a large series of correct suggestions, making it much more difficult to select all of the correct suggestions for a person in a group. The filmstrip order is quite handy for selecting all of the images of a series of photos of a single subject but is not good at all for sequences with multiple subjects. A hybrid of the two would fix the issues with both. As the algorithm determines a confidence level matching a face to a person label, you could truncate that confidence level or round it to a certain threshold and then order the resulting images within that confidence interval based on the filmstrip order. For example, if 100 faces within a large set had a confidence level between 98.0 and 98.99 for a particular person's name, the tr
It would be very useful to be able to turn off annoying dropshadows and the selected image highlight box in survey mode and comparison modes. When in survey mode with a white or light background, why do I need to have "your" dropshadows showing and distracting "my surveying" of images. They are NOT part of my imagery and this is distracting when sequencing and editing series of images. When in these modes using a dark background, you give us an annoying white bounding box for the selected image; again, its NOT part of my image, it is a distraction.Request:Add the option to turn these off. Either in preferences or within the interface. For the bounding box highlight: Maybe just by clicking on blank space between images so that nothing is selected and no images get this effect until selected (survey mode). Why?Because, when comparing 2 (or more) images side by side (or in survey) for colour correction,. grading, or whatever, having design elements getting in the way, distracting th
I'm asking this question here because I know that many of you would find this feature extremely helpful, especially if you're a busy working / traveling photographer like me. I also know that some of you here either work for Adobe or are somehow affiliated, so hopefully, you'll be able to chime in on this as well. Adobe is in the business of making money (duh) and have incorporated a rather assertive (read: annoying) campaign of selling space on their servers. Would it not make sense then, to allow for LR users to store their catalogs (with the caveat / necessity of including storage-consuming smart-previews) in the Cloud? Adobe had even changed the name of Lightroom to Lightroom Classic Creative Cloud (cough and shudder) so why haven't they included the most helpful and obvious function of them all for LR users? I understand that we still can't keep a LR Catalog on a local server for whatever reason, but in 2023 I'm starting to become a bit impatient at the absence of th
