Feature Requests

Yeah, I took the title straight from the "How To Write a Feature Request" post.  Sometime in the past stylus pressure was supported when using the brush tool.  I forget the exact details, but think it might have varied the opacity of the applied brush.  In the current version of Lightroom Classic the pressure feature of my Wacom stylus is ignored in Lightroom Classic.   I've two use cases for pressure sensitivity when using the brush maskiung tool: 1) Sometimes I'd like to be able to adjust brush size; but mostly 2) I'd like to be able to adjust brush flow. I suspect some might want to adjust feathering, too.   Please Adobe, add back support for stylus pressure in Lightroom Classic.

After a conversation with support I would like to sugest an 'Auto Optomise Catalogue' option. proberbly on a schedule weekly/monthly etc with on opening or on closing for example.

On light subjects, the white alignment lines are difficult to see and use. I'd like the ability to change the color of the lines to make it easier to see the lines when using the Guided Transform tool in LrC.

I would like the ability to right-click a Collection in LrC and then click on Synch to Cloud. I find it difficult to mark a Collection for synching, even on a 27" iMac with my aging eyes. The current "arrow" symbol is small and the area to click to start synching a Collection is small.

It would be grand to have a single button press that focuses the camera and then captures images while tethering.   I am nowhere near my camera so can't control it physically and the two button, only pressable with a mouse solution to focus the camera and then capture the image is really slowing down the process. The Nikon tethering software gives the option to select "Focus/Capture" or "Capture" which is what I am after.    At the very least, onlock these functionalities into the menus so that they can be mapped into a Mac keyboard shortcut.

I was editing and realized this would be a really cool helping hand, if for instance one could, on import, say to lightroom to apply "20" luminance noise reduction on any photo over 3200 iso for example, it would be a cool timesaver!   This feature could also work with sharpening for example, determining values of sharpening for X iso, it could be a list that we could add an ISO value and for that value a correspondent Sharpening and Noise Reduction Setting. It should also be an option after import, given that some users, might have the need to adjust these settings last and not on import!   People and Photographers, who go trough large sets of features would probably appreciate this feature 🙂 

The Sort Unnamed By: option underneath the People module has decent options, but a hybrid between the first two options (Suggested Name and Filmstrip Order) would be ideal. The suggested name option often randomly adds incorrect suggestions in the middle of a large series of correct suggestions, making it much more difficult to select all of the correct suggestions for a person in a group. The filmstrip order is quite handy for selecting all of the images of a series of photos of a single subject but is not good at all for sequences with multiple subjects. A hybrid of the two would fix the issues with both. As the algorithm determines a confidence level matching a face to a person label, you could truncate that confidence level or round it to a certain threshold and then order the resulting images within that confidence interval based on the filmstrip order. It would be very useful to be able to turn off annoying dropshadows and the selected image highlight box in survey mode and comparison modes.   When in survey mode with a white or light background, why do I need to have "your" dropshadows showing and distracting "my surveying" of images. They are NOT part of my imagery and this is distracting when sequencing and editing series of images. When in these modes using a dark background, you give us an annoying white bounding box for the selected image; again, its NOT part of my image, it is a distraction.Request:Add the option to turn these off. I'm asking this question here because I know that many of you would find this feature extremely helpful, especially if you're a busy working / traveling photographer like me. I also know that some of you here either work for Adobe or are somehow affiliated, so hopefully, you'll be able to chime in on this as well.   Adobe is in the business of making money (duh) and have incorporated a rather assertive (read: annoying) campaign of selling space on their servers. Would it not make sense then, to allow for LR users to store their catalogs (with the caveat / necessity of including storage-consuming smart-previews) in the Cloud? Adobe had even changed the name of Lightroom to Lightroom Classic Creative Cloud (cough and shudder) so why haven't they included the most helpful and obvious function of them all for LR users?   I understand that we still can't keep a LR Catalog on a local server for whatever reason, but in 2023 I'm starting to become a bit impatient at the absence of th

Bonjour Le répertoire d'un "Service de publication sur disque dur" ne peut être modifié après création. C'est extrèmement pénalisant, q au moins dans 2 cas vécus : Besoin de changer du disque de destination (par exemple, disque dur plein) Changement de PC, qui en général s'accompagne d'un changement de nom du répertoire User choisi à la dérobée par Windows. Les catalogues migrent presque facilement (recherche des photo manquantes ...), mais il est impossible de migrer les service de publication. De grâce, laisser la possibilité de modifier le répertoire "Emplacement d'exportation" !  

Does anyone know of a way to make "delete from Disc" the default when elliminating images from LR?  I never just "remove from LR", I always delete the files entirely form lightromm and the disc drive as well.  I would wish that Adobe would make this a check box option in the futre. In the meantime, I'm looking for a way to acomplish this tasj without have to take my mouse and select it all the time.   Thanks,   Ralpn

Some might consider this just a minor irritation but for someone who uses SNAPSHOTS in the develop module extensively, it is more than this. im very happy with LRc providing a default name for each new snapshot, but can the naming convention be changed to: [YEAR][MONTH][DAY][TIME] as the current naming convention of [DAY][MONTH][YEAR][TIME] does not keep a logical order, or at least a logical date order. The attached screen grab as an example: I don't mind either numeric sort order of latest first or oldest first, just ordered logically. David

I would like combine three big book modules - each book has about 100 designed pages. I tried to do by several ways but can't move the designed book pages to other module. Photos and just layouts can be copied but I have to insert photos in 200 pages. I would appreciate it, if someone would teach me the best way.

I use Lightroom for stock keeping and recording of stock of an archive. There are times when I replace an older image with a new one. I often change the time stamp to match the previous image but one second earlier and then I delete the original image. After that I need to change the file names to make it seamless. Can I request that there is an option to replace and clone an old image with a new one cloning-the-metatdata. So I will take a new photo with an updated condition image of an object and with one click it will: A) copy time and date of capture B) copy ALL metadata of ALL fields C) delete old image D) move new image to folder location of the old image E) place it in all the same collections etc So in summary it will use the new photogarph but clone everything else in terms of data. I'm happy to discuss in more detail and share my experience with programmers - I manage almost 1 million images accross two catalogues over 15 years. Thank you

Most of the time for files that I'm doing to use digitally, I currently "print" my images to my desktop using the "Print" menu in the top right hand corner rather than "Export" them.  This is because I really like a 3pt black rule around the image and then a white border. They are "printed to file" as 100% 300dpi JPGs. Having spoken to friends and colleagues, I'm not the only one.   Then I reimport these printed images back into Lightroom (with their rule and border) and I can use them on my website, instagram etc. www.miketaylor.photography   It would be great if there was a simple box to tick that would "Add Back To Catalog" when I'm about to hit the "Print To file" button in the bottom right. I'm a Creative Cloud subscriber and often switch between my workstation and my laptop. It would be great if the settings and presets managed in Adobe Lightroom would be automatically synchronized between all devices connected to the same Creative Cloud account.

I would find it a real fit for my workflow to be able to have two sets of photos side-by-side (one set on each of two displays, for example) to visually see what is included in the intended final photo series and what are the candidates that I am considering to include in the final set.   Currently I use stars and filters to restrict a collection to include only intended final photo set or candidates, but there is no way for me to see the final set on one group and candidates in another at the same time — I can see photos part of both sets in the same set (for example, marking intended final photo set photos with five stars and candidates with four, and set filtering to include four or above stars), but that's not the same as looking those two sets side-by-side.   Think of it how you would build your photo series with real photo prints: you would lay the inteded set of prints in front of you in one group, and candidate prints on another group next to intended set, and you wou

Boa noite, estou encaminhando essa dica, que acho bem pertinente.  quando faço meu catalago sempre é um exclusivo para o evento.porém muitas vezes as fotos que tiro por exemplo de um aniversário de 15 anos não estão na ordem que pretendo mostrar ao cliente, e com isso faço pastas nas ordens certas que quero contar a história. E la em baixo não vejo um jeito de organizar a linha do tempo das fotos por posta seria interessante. ai perco muito tempo selecionando pasta por pasta e exportando individualmente. seria mais facil exportar tudo de uma vez.porem tenho que ficar experando o processo. pois o sistema que uso para encaminhar as fotos é por hora de criação ou exportação das fotos. vou colocar um anexo. caso tenha interesse em saber mais sobre a ideia.   Queria exportar as fotos exatamente como mostra nas pastas 

Can you please provide the option to synch files greater than 200MB and videos?

It would be great to see two new more sliders in the Transform panel, they would be called tilt vertically and tilt horizontally (or whatever name you may suggest).   These two will allow you to slide the left and right sides of your shot up and down or vice-versa. Same thing you could do in Photoshop with the Manual Transform tool if you hold Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + Shift on a side anchor. Think like breaking a rectangle right angles to make a parallelogram by moving two opposites sides symetrically and horizontally (or vertically). The reason why it will be usfull is when using the Upright tool with 2 axes, the Rotate slider does not update the Upright transformation. The way to go around it is to use a third axe and not the Rotate slider. Sadly, the results can be wacky if you dont have any horizon line to reffer to.These new sliders will unlock new possibilities, and solve many perspective issues. "Done" button on the "T" panel doesn't show up anymore when in crop or masking tool. I'm missing it.

Steps to reproduce:   I use "Edit Count" a lot for sorting photos in the Library view. Especially to find photos I have done some work on. I have a Mac Studio as my main editing desktop, but I use a laptop for editing photos when I am travelling, and use the "Export as Catalog" option on the laptop to export photos and LrC edits. When I import the photos on my desktop ("Import from another catalogue"), the images and edits are imported fine. All edit steps are available in the edit history. Actual result: But "Edit Count" sorting does not affect the imported photos. It is as if the edit count = 0 on the imported photos - they are not sorted first. If I filter using edit attribute, the filtering is working.   Expected result: Edited photos imported from another catalogue should be sorted according to edit count.   Lightroom Classic 12.5 Mac Studio and Macbook Pro - latest OS - but I had the same issue on Windows version.

Auto white balance based on a trained AI

The People / Faces feature in Lightroom Classic basically adds a keyword of the person's name and then has its own spot for sorting by face.  This ends up being very limiting though as far as organization and I'd like to see some changes to the system.  By tying the face system to the keyword system, there is little room in the system for people whose names change over time.  Ultimately it is the same person so I want to keep all photos of them together, but allow for the name change.  A simple example is a woman who gets married and changes her last name.  I may have some older photos of her tagged as "Jane Smith," and newer photos tagged as "Jane Jones."  But to keep her as the same "person" in the current face organization system, Lightroom Classic wants those keywords to align with the name assigned in the People / Faces section.  There are some workarounds in the program that I've found - I'll name the Face as the most recent name ("Jane Smith Jo
