Feature Requests

If I paintakingly make a selection in premiere and then do an action and realize I didn't select all the right clips, when I hit undo, my selection is gone and I have to do it again from scratch. I'd love if my selection doesn't go away when I hit undo.

I love being able to nest my sequences but find that sometimes nesting makes editing clips/timing much more difficult. It would be great if we could nest things, and then open it in a drop down (similar to viewing a group's layers in photoshop).

So, I have a clip selected in my timeline, highlighted with white border.  I add an edit and the part of the clip to the left of the edit stays selected.  Let me explain the reasons this is not intuative. First, it's selecting a clip earlier in time.  Usual workflow in a timeline is beginning to end, so, in order to make progress, I have to re-select. Next, it's selecting a clip you are no longer sitting on.  So, let's say I add an edit, and want to change any parameter in the effects controls.  I can't see what I'm changing until I either move in the timeline to the selected clip, or re-select the clip I am sitting on. There are times when I add an edit and want to work with the selected cip to the left of the edit.  But 9 times out of 10 or more, I want to manipulate the clip to the right of the edit point. Please add a setting to allow selection of the right hand of the selected clip in timeline setting.  A huge proportion of my

Hi!In my daily workflow I often have to make animatics for animation projects, and one of the most repetitive and boring tasks is to manually add numbers to each shot, so that I can export them sepparately for the animators to work on them. I need them to have the numbers like "T-001", "T-002", etc. embedded on one corner (as seen in the screenshot attached). Now I just manually create a text layer, copy and change the number, and so on, dozens of times. Is there a plugin or some way to just select all the clips that I want labeled and then have new text layers created with the labels I want, numbered from 001 to NNN?Thanks in advance, this would really improve my work.

I appauld the addition of Quick Export as a little toggle on the top of my screen, cuts out a lot of repetative clicks.  2 things could make it even better.First, in Quick Export, when clikcing on the path for file name and location, give me an option to "Save and Export" in the Save As dialog.  So many times I hit save and expect it to start exporting, but I actually have to go back to the Quick Export window and hit "Export". Also, give me an easy way to navagate to the file I just exported.  Like an "Open containing folder" type button.  9 times out of 10, I want to go to the file I just exported when it's finished exporting. Kind of like what you can do for downloads in web browsers.  Right now, it's like I have to find the folder twice (yes, I can click on the save apth, copy the path from explorer, open new explorer window, paste and go, but honestly.....) Thanks!

Hi Adobe, Great work on all the programming you guys do to help us creators do what we do. I have a simple idea that I think could help a lot, especially with all the content creation we do nowadays. My idea is this, a button on the source monitor which enables the editor to be able to switch rotation of the clip just for digitising clip the ins and outs. Instead of turning your head to the side, lol. The other method would involve dropping all the footage into Media Encoder and rexporting the footage in the correct aspect ratio and then dropping into Adobe pre. I think that the addition of this simple button would help speed up production in post. I hope this make sense.Many thanks  

Most wedding video reough cuts are taking too much of time for the ediors. I have done almost 1000 projects for past 7 years. We are still stuck in rough cut, which is taking too much of our time. I have an idea, most of the clips are trimmed front and back, 90% of the clips are only the between portion of the video. Rough cut in and out taking time for in and time for us to click out. By default, we will have option like ex "Estitame Rough" option, next to this "1sec to 5sec" last to this "Custom Time Limit". For example if we choose 3sec option in Estimate Rough, we click the "In" command once then the "Out" button automatically assign to the 3rd second from the portion of  "In" command clicked. It will save lot of   time & also very useful option for all the fellow editor. I able to explain briefly about this and many ideas i have in my mind for long. I sincerely will to work for team Adobe for the futuristic betterments. I sincerely knows most of the pain points

The request is to group all handling of any media import to a separate section in preferences. Currently importing options are scattered haphazardly between lists of check boxes in sparley connect idea groupings and yet it still feels as if some import options are also missing. Tuning off one feature such as "Generate waveforms automatically during import" might not stop Premiere from generating peak files for all media at startup. Having a settings section that doesn't confuse the app as to how media is processed should also speed up workflow. Some systems don't have the capacity to run a whole lot of background tasks and should then be able to turn off the system bloat.

Hi there, This has probably come up before so I apologise if it has, I use Essential Graphics a lot in my daily work and they are a true lifesaver. I'm constantly evolving the templates as I go along as I find new issues or features I think they should have so being able to update them would be super helpful. I know that I can drag a new version and overwrite the ones currently in the sequence by ALT/OPT dragging them over, but that only seems to work if no new controls have been added. It still updates the template but keeps the old controls. Is there a way of updating all the templates but pushing the new controls too them as well? The only difference would be the addition of some controls and extra layers in the AE project. The AE composition, name and project all remain the same. Thanks

I have noticed that the default save location for projects is Documents/Adobe/[Version]Often when I go to open projects, this is NOT where Premiere directs me to first. It usually directs me to the last folder I was working on within a project. It feels like the default behavior should be that the "Open Project" selection EITHER opens the default save location OR the most recent location a project file was opened from.

If you have an effects preset consisting of multiple effects:When you apply it by dragging preset from Effects Panel to Effect Control Panel, it's applied correctly.When you apply it by double clicking on it in Effect Panel, only the first of the muliple effects will be applied. I see this has been noted before, and the answer is "expected behavior." Expected by whom? If it's expected behavior, then please put it in the manual, folks. That's why I have the online manual bookmarked.I'd ask for doubleclick to apply the whole preset. More consistent, and dragging the mouse is slower and more effort than a doubleclick.

       

When editing keyframes in the effects panel, Premiere needs an option to remove all keyframes to the right or to the left of a selected keyframe. Often when editing keyframes, for example, adjusting volume on a piece of music, I might make a cut in a clip that already had keyframes beyond the cut point. Once the clip is cut the keyframes are not visible within the bounds of the clip, which makes it tedious to edit the remaining keyframes. If volume is fading down at the cut point, it will continue fade to the keyframes beyond the bound of the clip, but if I want to change the timing of that fade, I can't see or access the keyframes beyond the bounds of the clip. If I could clear all markers to the right or left, this would allow me to clear out those markers beyond the clips bounds.

Importing EXRs is quite cumbersome and there's no way to do it via the Import tab, it's only possible through the media browser. The import tab should intelligently know that a folder of exr images should be imported as one file. Also, when importing EXR's. Preferably the bypass linear conversion checkbox should be ticked. And the source settings should be built into the lumetri color panel now that all color settings have moved there and should be editable on multiple clips. This would be extremely helpful for VFX workflows on larger projects. 

I think it would be super useful if I could change the track background colors in Premiere.I use empty locked tracks as spacers (see screenshot) between production sound, SFX and music tracks, but a better solution would be if I could just choose a color for each of my track types - it would be visually much easier to make sure I drop everything in the right lane, as well as for keeping all the clips in the right place.Also, built-in spacers (possibly with color options) might be great, instead of the DIY empty locked tracks solution!

Premiere pro cc 2018 but the Save legacy title is visible only inside the open project but it doesn't show where it is saved and its path I have opened numerous folders of temporary files but no where There is no folder with legacy title other than preview render is its folder are graphics folders but there is no folder with title this legacy title is created when we create in project.After that, it only stays within the project. Generally, all the work done inside the software is being saved inside the same project. If the project is closed and we want to see the file, That file shows us but the views are in the same software now if I say in other software I'm using there's a title folder above where the project is saved. It gets created and all the titles that are being created in the software are being created from there when the software is working, but why is it not like that in the premiere that the legacy title? It's not visible unless you open up the project, so I've specified

Maybe this already exists...but havent found it.. Sometimes, almost always I tend to have 20-30 timelines open at once, and navigating through them all can be a pain, as most of theses timelines have similar names. Here's an idea, what if you could right click on your timeline panel and pick a color label for that specific timeline, then it would be easier to navigate to that specific timeline panel. Thanks

I Think the effect warp stabilizer could be acelerated by GPU to stabilize long videos faster

I use ctrl-D to add a default transition to my video clips all the time. It's weird that I can right-click an audio clip's in- or out-point and add a default transition, but ctrl-D does nothing on an audio clip. Could we please have ctrl-D add a default transition to an audio clip?

Sometimes, when editing an embedded AE comp in a PPro timeline, I want something (a layer's in-point, an effect's keyframe, etc.) to happen at a specific time. If I park PPro's playhead at, say frame 50 of the comp, then do a ctrl-E to open that comp in AE, it'd be marvellous if AE could move the CTI to that exact position (taking into account the in-point in the PPro timeline), and I'd then know it's synced with PPro's timeline and I could then time my keyframes/in-point/etc precisely. Currently, when the comp is opened in AE, the CTI is at whatever time it was previously parked in AE, and PPro's playhead position has no bearing on this.

Is nice to have ability to create some custom essential graphics in Premiere Pro. Right now in after effect you can add a sound to your MOGRT. It would be nice to be able to do the same in premiere pro. 

The more I work with Productions, the more I like the feature. Premiere Pro runs smoother and there are just fewer slowdowns. While instructing new users on Productions, I noticed a stumbling block right out of the gate. The welcome screen needs to have a button for New Production and Open Production in the upper left, along with New Project and Open Project. In the current interface, Recents are listed but if a Project and a Production have similar names, it's easy to click the wrong thing and have to back out again. If a new user opens a Project that's outsidd of the Production, they could get pretty far down the road before realizing the mistake. The first place your eyes go on a screen is the upper left. Please put options up there for Productions as well as Projects. Thanks,Jeff

Hi,I'm working on subtitles and CCSL and CDSL generation for a feature film I'm working on.  I have noticed however an issue that means I manually have to check timing of caption in and out points. Reproduction Steps: Work on a feature length movie in 24 fpsExport subtitles to .SRTCreate new blank subtitle track above the one you exportedImport the .SRT you previously exported (you'll notice it's set as 30fps and not changable)Place it in the new blank subtitle trackAlign first subtitle with the first one from the original trackGo through and you'll notice some are 1 frame early or 1 frame late, some are right on Here's the issue, on a featute length movie this is obnoxious to manually go through and check each subtitle cut matches to be frame accurate. In another thread an Adobe rep said they took away the ability to change the imported .SRT frame rate and they locked it to 30fps, this is where I believe the issue stems from. PROPOSAL: Allow users to

Often times when importing entire folders, a dialogue box will pop up after import that shows failed imports. The problem is that the dialogue box is of a fixed size which often makes it impossible to find out which specific files failed to import for whatever reason.  It would be fantastic and super helpful if this box were adjustable in size or at the very least we could see the entire path of the file by hovering the cursor over them. As it stands now, the bulk of the window is taken up by extensive directory paths, usually not allowing fot the filenames themselves to be visible.
