Feature Requests

In the various community pages, in the Status option/button (for sorting), where we can select All, Resolved, Unresolved, and No Replies, please add "Not Visited". Purpose to show postings a member has not previously looked at in any way. This would eliminate a need to scroll down thru various pages to see what is new and not yet visited by the member. 

First, I love Adobe MAX!! This year you had these sessions "First Look from the Community..." I was too busy at the time to participate in many of these wonderful sessions but now they are my favorite sessions 🙂  I just like hearing from these experts and seeing  their mini projects and best practices.  Moving along, I viewed these sessions here, https://www.adobe.com/max/2023/sessions.html?Session+Type=First+Take  Unfortunately, the links in some of the sessions are linked to the wrong pages. Can I post the links that have the wrong videos attached to them? 

In the View Community profile it is good to introduce a method to filter and see the the subject you want. You can notice below in the View Community profile all the separate subject are mixed together [eg: Ai, Ae & Pr]. When you want to see a paticular subject, it is tedious to go through with all the subjects to see a paticular subject of a previous discussion.          

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious but it's currently impossible to quote any section of someones post. The only thing the qoute button  currently does is plonk the entire original post into yours. From what I've gathered this community platform isn't owned by Adobe so I understand that they can only cascade this request to those that design/maintain it but one can hope... If you look at the feature set and speed of the community/forum platform that most companies use these days that one is miles ahead. Look at blenderartists.org or ACESCentral. What I hope to see is for quoting that you can simply select a range of text and you create a quote from it including the tag that notes from who it was. Example from BlenderArtists 

Hello!I don't know if I have encoutered a bug or I'm jus out of luck here.I'm trying to change my screen name and its becoming a nightmare. My screen name is currently my first name, a series of random numbers and ends with fcp (totally random for me anyway).Of course I went to my profile and tried to change but whatever the name I pick, it doesn't let me.A name with spaces? No. A name without spaces? No. My name + surname + my "Design" thing I use to have pretty much everywhere? No. My name + surname + "Design e Fotografia" which is basically a set of names I use to identify my "photography brand"? Hell no, has too many characters. But the screen name change window doesn't tell me the requirements for the screen name, so I don't have a clue on what should I pick for it. Thanks for the help!

On various threads, I have made a few suggestions for ideas to improve the forum and gotten very contradictory information about how these forums run. So my idea so that people know how to actually get help is: make all forum suggestions for all boards in the same place. Apparently some boards used something called uservoice. And others do other things. I was told it would be very arduous to enact changes across the whole forum, which seems weird. be able to downvote answers so people know which suggestions are actually useful and which are people writing without understanding  Do away with topic tags, or at least made them optimal, at least for the using the community forum as I find them confusing and several people responded that no one pays attention to them anyway. thanks!

So I've noticed that this forum like almost any tech forum is full of people who just respond to every single post with some answer that may or may not be relevant. they are then rewarded for that participation even if their answer is totally irrelvant or useless. Some people just cut and past the same exact answer to every post.  Frankly, I find forums to be the most useless place on earth to get help because of this. Some forums let you downvote answers to discourage this behavior.  I would really like it if Adobe did this. 

For some reason this forum incorrectly displays emoji characters. For example an emoji representing a checkmark in a green box is displayd as a string ":white_heavy_check_mark:"Here are some screenshots:  Please, fix this issue.

When you reply to a thread, you're automatically enrolled to be notified when someone replies unless you uncheck the box for "Email me when someone replies". Sometimes you end up getting loads of notifications that you don't actually want. It would be nice if you could unsubscribe from individual threads.

Right now, the way to unfollow a post is to go to My account -> My follows -> look for the post through the whole list (there isn't even a filter/search) -> select it -> Unfollow. This isn't intuitive at all. I had to search the community to find answers to people who had wondered about the same thing before me.Good UI is in the context of its object. Just like I can sign up to follow a post when I reply to it, I should also be able to easily change my mind. There should be an option on the post itself to unfollow, without needing to find a list somewhere else. And it's a trivial addition - a single button on the post page (the code to unfollow obviously already exists). Thanks in advance!

Make bigger screenshots in Help articles! Can you clearly see the Menu items here?Do you use smth like this for those screenshots? 

I've already suggested 50+ ideas/feature requests for Adobe products (mainly Photoshop). 2 of them were implemented, one is under review now.   Adobe implements these features, makes new releases, earns big money. Does the company anyhow support its contributors, the idea generators? Nope, except a short reply "Thanks for you request. It's under review. Released". They even don't mention us in the blog posts with new releases.   LET'S CHANGE THIS! I suggest the following.   [DUPLICATE POST, LOCKED BY MODERATOR.]   1) a contributor should be mentioned in the Adobe blog post with a new release; 2) a printed personalized certificate for a contributor whose Idea was implemented; 3) 1 year of Adobe subscription for each implemented feature.   The company must value idea generators. Since this topic was closed, I'm writing it as a request. Don't cut down the functionality in the Ideas section! it's very inconvenient when I want to reply to smb's comment & have to quote it manually. Esp. when the topic is full of comments. If I just tag the person, other readers will easily lose the point of the discussion because that comment was somewhere too far on the page. If I quote it manually, it doubles the amount of the text for the viewers. NOT user friendly at all!!! Guess which type of commenting is easier to follow? 

Allow the topic starters to change the conversation type while editing the initial post.If during a discussion I find out that smth isn't possible yet, I want to change it from a discussion to a feature request (= move to the Ideas). I can just edit the text, even the title, but not the conversation type! Why?! Should I start a new topic in this case? because I have no other (fast) ways to move it to the Ideas.(you may suggest using the Report button for moderator's help, but it rarely works)

If you visit the Adobe Support Community with an expired session it immediately redirects to the Adobe login screen, which can be incredibly frustrating when trying to diagnose an issue a student is having with Creative Cloud. I'll be in the middle of reading a post with troubleshooting steps - only to be whisked away to the login page. I don't use saved passwords or a password manager on enterprise devices. I understand why it does this - it makes sense to want to refresh the session, though I'd prefer it if it did this in a less obstructive way, such as when I go to interact with something that requires my session to be current. Yes, a quick way around it is to use incognito mode, but then I can't go back through my history to find the posts I used to solve the issue. Thanks,Benjamin.

It's safe to say that the majority or users dislike the way Adobe Support Community mitigates for spamming and other issues, by removing the ability for "new" users to edit posts. Great way to kill the platform, since I can tell you, I'll probably never post here again. I'm human, and make mistakes, and that cannot be avoided no matter how new or seasoned I am. New users make mistakes too. With that said.. the least you could do is warn users they will not be able to edit or delete BEFORE they post the message. This way they have a chance to omit the post, or take the time editing it properly first. It's a pretty big surprise afterward, considering close to zero other websites take this weird approach.  Also, if you are so worried about new users posts, then just don't let new users post anything at all. That would actually be an improvement from my perspective, instead of going against the natural order of a creative's thought process, and surprising everyone with a per

Why do we have to see these distracting signatures in each comment? especially if they are much longer than the reply itself? 🙂 lol... and contain duplicate information I hope it's a forum feature & they don't copypaste it manually each time  That's why I'm writing in the Ideas section to fix that. You should either remove this or use a smaller  font size (to make it clear it's a signature, not the main text of the comment). IVAN ZAYATS, Photographer & Retoucher, Photoshop User, Creative Person, not the Adobe Employee 

Why is the Edit button hidden? we have to click two times instead of one to edit a post.Though there's plenty of free space on the right. Not user friendly, imho. "Unhide" it, please. 

I just came across a comment full of useful links and wanted to save it somehow, but there's no such function to save single comments (yet). There should be. The "follow" button is not the same, bacause it saves the link to the whole thread (which may have 5+ pages of comments). Am I right?

Hi. I am writing only to suggest a change, probably not important for a large group of people, but I know it's important for portuguese people from Portugal. For some reason I can't understand, some programs/apps, even our adobe profile, don't let us chose portuguese (portugal). It only appears the Brazilian Portuguese. I know you, english people around the world, understand each other the same way we, portuguese from portugal, understand brazilian people and vice versa, but don't you think it's a must having the option to choose between english (UK) and english (USA)? Because I always choose between one of them and want to choose between my Portugal portuguese and Brazil portuguese. Brazilian Portuguese is NOT my mother tongue as you want me to say in my profile. Sorry about that, but Portuguese (PT-PT) is also a language with a lot of translators. Maybe you could use their services. It's just an idea.MJ
