Hi to all.I am trying to make a very simple script that finds the first text frame that exists in a flow (in this case a secondary flow with only a line of text) ,copy that in the exact same location to all pages of the active document. Is this possible with javascript?

I can see no such button or option. Am I very confused, or is this help topic wrong?

That is proabably not a great title...Anyway,Ever since I have gotten my 64 bit computer, FM has been awful. I have FM10, Windows 7, 16GB RAM.When I make a pdf, it, of course as usual takes forever. But now it stops responding and never refreshes. I get an out of memory message sometimes, but I alwasy have to shut it down. Then to open my book, I have to reset every file in the book to use it and update...ect....Is there something I can do?It is only using 3.5 GB memory to make the file, so my computer isn't running out of memory.Thanks,ls

Somehow, I've managed to get through decades of authoring without ever being called on for an index … but I've recently been translating Joris Verdin's standard work Het Harmoniumhandboek, by way of busman's holiday, and this does require an index.Layout question: I've set the IX paragraph styles to Adobe Caslon Pro 10, and I find that the page-numbers are disturbingly large. I tried setting a character style for Caslon Pro 9 and using it as a building-block on the Reference page, but this didn't seem to achieve anything. Hints & tips?

Hi All,In the past, I've always printed to PS via the Distiller instance, but now we have new branding with spot colors used in the FM templates, so now Save As PDF is a must.I am finding what I think to be a bug, because it is consistently reproducible. When I Save As PDF choosing Page Range: All, I can get all of the pages printed with spot colors and working hyperlinks, BUT the leftmost cell of the first row of every single table is empty, even though the FM screen itself displays the row's contents.Here's the PDF outcome — please note the first body cell of the table is empty:All tables in the document have the same issue. I tried opening other documents, they all have the same behavior. Hi,I've read the forum discussions/solutions on setting PDF bookmarks, but I'm afraid the various solutions appear to only work if you are consistently working in .fm book files, not if your source files are in structured .fm format.For example, I have to constantly reset the bookmark settings in FrameMaker when I follow our PDF process of saving the structured FM files via the File -> Save Ditamap As -> Book 11.0 with fm components (*.book) route. I can set the bookmarks in the first file of the book, and/or set them using the Format -> Document -> PDF Setup menu options. But an hour later, if I discover I need to make a change in our source material (.ditamap/.xml) and create a new PDF again, I must make the same exact bookmark settings at the .fm level in this process (i.e. creating new .fm files from the .ditamap/xml files overwrites the previous .fm files, requiring bookmark setting, again).I think the only possible solution for a short-cut in this situation is to writ

I'm using FrameMaker 12 to edit topics in DITA. Unfortunately when I add an image, FrameMaker re-sizes it. I want to stop it doing this, but I can't work out how. It looks like FrameMaker correctly reads the image size in pixels, but adds the width and height in pt not px. For example, I have a 602px by 265px image that gets added to a DITA topic as the following:<image href = "adobe.png" height="265.000px" width="602.000px"  />

I'm running FM12 on Windows 7 Pro. I want to make a Warning paragraph format that always has a graphic at the front of it. I'm going to use this in the sideheads only. I have other sidehead formats that start with one word, such as "Note:" in the Autonumber Format, but I can't figure out how to put a graphic there. I've seen this done before, I think, but didn't see how.

I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".Can anyone help?

Hello, I'm new to structured FrameMaker and to DITA. I'm using TCS5.I'm having to compile a set of training materials that include video tutorials generated out of Captivate. I'm thinking I might have a ditamap of the text tutorial with all its concepts and tasks as topics, and then a separate topic at the end with the video, to which the others could link. I'd prefer to use the mp4 format rather than the outdated swf.I've found how to do this by saving the ditamap as a Frame book with composite fm files. Of course I can just import the mp4 into the corresponding fm file. But this import is then not reflected or present in the pure dita topic and that makes exchangeability and re-use problematic. Ideally I would like to be able to do everything in pure dita without having to pass through fm files, much harder to maintain.I've seen there is an "object" element in DITA which can be used to include video streaming, but I can't for the life of me find intelligible instructions on how to us

I have a couple questions about the HTML5 Output:1. I have images that are not appearing in the output (they are in the source FM file, but not in the HTML5 output). What am I doing wrong?2. Is there a way to disable the glossary function so that it doesn't appear as an option in the HTML5 output?Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi All,we run Framemaker 10 sucessfully for 2-3 years on a row on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Remote Desktop Services. We use a specific concurrent useer license for max. 5 users. works great without any problem.I updated to version Framemaker 12 last month.PROBLEM: when saving to PDF .. the FM session just crashes without any message .. application is just gone.I know that the specs of Framemaker doesn't show Windows Server 2008 R2 (is 64-bit), but from what I know, the architecture of Server 2008 is for a big part the same as Windows 7 (64-bit).Does anybody have any experience with Framemaker crashing when saving to PDF .. and a solution to solve this behaviour?(I already updated with the latest patch)?Please also answer when you solved your issue in Windows XP sp3, Windows 7 or Windows 8.Thanks!Hans Janssen

When I check a script I use the alert to see if the code is working, such as "Current tag is body".Is there a function that outputs alert results to a file? For example, a way to send to a file allof the paragraph tags that are used in a document. (The actual code could be a loop). I coulduse this as a start to produce what I really want, an array of all the valid tags, and then print to a file a list of all the "rogue" tags that are not in the valid list

My client is a government agency that does not have FrameMaker (I use FM 10). So I sent them a PDF, which they promptly marked up...all 10 of them!So my question is whether I can somehow get those changes back into FrameMaker without going through each one individually.I am on Windows, using FrameMaker 10, Acrobat XI Professional.I'm pretty sure I know the answer :-(.Thanks in advance for helping.Cindy in Durango

I'm publishing a book into Amazon's Kindle format, mobi, and was hoping someone knows how to inherit existing FM page breaks, or to force it by adding it to a FM para tag or other FM code.The front matter of the book is in a single file with page breaks, but the Publish option is removing the breaks. Why does FrameMaker 11 claim that it cannot open a file due to missing fonts when in fact no fonts are missing? I have repaired this problem with numerous files, replacing the missing fonts, but Frame is proving recalcitrant with one file in particular.

Is anyone using this combination? I'm really just looking for info on whether SP 12 will work as CMS with FM 12 at all.

Hello again,How do I get to an element from a text location ? As my document is structured I am always in an element, but there does not seem to be a way to get there easily. I tried doc.ElementSelection but that just gives me ivalid elements.Thanks for any pointer in the right directionJang

TCS 4, RoboHelp 10, Win7: The WebHelp TOC, index, and glossary do not display any entries, even after downloading IE11Fix_RH10.zip and placing the 2 JS files in \RoboHTML\WebHelp5Ext\template_stock. What else do I need to do to display  WebHelp TOC, index, and glossary in Internet Explorer 11? Chrome and Firefox display correctly.
