I have a problem with xml-import into FM11. When the eol in the xml-file appears after an element in the xml-file. like this:Ved samtidig bruk bør kun <teller>1</teller>/<nevner>4</nevner>av vanlig azatioprindose gis.the result is like this:Ved samtidig bruk bør kun 1/4av vanlig azatioprindose gis.... the space after 1/4 is missing. It does not appear as an whitespace in the FM file as it should, - and as it does when it's not after an element. Is this a known problem with FM11, and are there any ways to solve the issue?DagB -

I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit on my workstation. Then I did a clean install of Adobe TCS4. When I want to enter my Serial Number I receive the following message:Serial Number you povided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.To use this serial number, you must own one of these qualifying products. Please choose the one you own and enter its serial number.When I select Adobe FrameMaker 11 from the dropdown and enter the TCS4 Serial Number I receive the following message:This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another.Any suggestions?

I am working in a FM11 – Win 7 environment. We upgraded 2 font families recently: Imago Book upgraded to Imago BQ Bembo upgraded to Bembo StdI am attempting to save a FrameMaker 11 file as a pdf. When I attempt to do this, the pdf is not embedding the Imago BQ Bold font. It is substituting it with Imago BQ BoldItalic. I am pdfing a number of FM11 files that have been formatted in different templates. I am not experiencing this problem with these FM11 files. It is only occurring with a set of FM11 files formatted in one template.I can’t figure out why this font substitution is occurring. Has anyone encountered this issue ? How do I resolve it?I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro.Thanks,Brenda

We just installed FrameMaker 11 one one of our workstations and now cannot see Preferences in the Edit menu. Under the View tab we also cannot see the options for Master Page, Reference Page or Body Page. These are functioning correctly on the other workstations. Can you help?

How can I update my fonts so that I can save the document as a PDF? I get an error message and a separate popup window stating 'The "HelveticaNeueLTStd-BdIt" Font is not available.' I have some cross-referencing issues going on. Can anyone help resolves these?Thanks

I've been running into this problem off and on for a while. I've seen this across multiple laptops, Windows XP and Windows 7. I don't use FrameMaker in structured mode. Basically, I will be working on files in framemaker 9 from anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or two and suddenly the text I am working on will glitch and usually change to a weird or distorted looking font and then when I scroll the page at all, all the text on the page glitches and the row that was at the edge of the screen will just repeat over and over as I scroll. I then have to quit. The save dialogs and any warning messages that come up don't actually display, but I can still save and/or hit escape to close out the dialogs and close the program. Then, once I reopen framemaker and the file I was working on, it will look normal and frame will behave for as long as it feels like until it decides to stop working again. Hello fellows,Question:Let's say I updated my site dictionary (located on Win7 under C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker10\dict) with a list of terms that are allowed in my documents (e.g., auto-negotiation (correct) vs. auto negotiation (incorrect and should be picked up by the spell checker)). It's not clear to me how to make the spell checker identify incorrectly spelled terms based on the entries that appear in the site dictionary. Just adding the correct entries to the dictionary line by line does not change anything.Thank you for your input in advance!

How do I rotate an entire book (or that is, all pages of the documents that are part of a book) from Portrait to Landscape? I know that the question of mixing Portrait and Landscape pages has come up and been answered on this forum multiple times.  This one is about rotating the entire document, with all pages going from Portrait to Landscape.Environment:  Win7 64-bit, FM11.0.2.384 (as part of TCS4)

We have a batch mechanism running via Patternstream.  Everything is finally working well, except I can't get Frame to close on it's own once a report is complete.  Is this a registry or maker.ini issue?  I'm working with Frame 11 on Windows Server 2008 machines.  thanks! Al

In the office where I work, we are upgrading from Structured FrameMaker 8 in Win XP to Structured FrameMaker 11 in Win 7. Part of the work that I do involves importing xml feeds into Structured FrameMaker templates using an automated process. As I am testing the importing into FM 11 I am noticing that the special character code used for a horizontal tab - 	 - is not translating into a tab after the xml feed has been imported into the FM 11 template. It does translate into a horizontal tab when imported into FM 8. What special character code should be used for horizontal tabs in FM11?

I downloaded Framemake 11 trial version. The software was successfully installed but during activation I get an error message"Please connect to the internet and try". My computer is conected to the internet. The system timings are right. But still the problem persists. I need help to try the trial software.

Hello,I have an issue with the Framemaker coss refernces. When adding a cross reference like one that shows "Chapter no." and "page no." it is displayed with a tab between Chapter and Page eg. Chapter 3      on page 34. I haven't figured out how to replace the tab with a single space or how to edit the tab size. I looked into the Adobe help and the online forum but haven't found an answer.Best regards

I've got a document with connecting text frames. When I do a Ctrl+P, a line from the 2nd text box moves up to the 1st one, but it's outside of the text frame and it's invisible. If you adjust the text box (which I can't do given specific dimensions), it reappears, but it then readjusts the feathering. I've looked at the pagination in the paragraph designer and it matches the rest of the document. I've tried adjusting the widow/orphans, Keep With: settings, and nothing works. What else can be causing it?

Hi,I have created separate master pages for even and odd pages. Even I am able to apply the master pages for both even and odd pages separately. But, when number of pages increasing in a chapter file, by default, FrameMaker is applying the default master page to the pages that are crossed the range difined in the Master Page Usage dialog box.For example, When I applied the master pages for even and odd pages separately, the number of pages in a chapter file was 12 and the master pages are applied correctly. When I moved from page 12 to 13, the 13th page has the default master page applied by FrameMaker.My requirement: is there any option where I can freeze the master pages to even and odd pages even though the number of pages in a chapter file got incremented?I am facing same issue when I import the Formats to another chapter file. i.e, the default master page is getting applied to the file. I've never had to set this option; the page name has always displayed at the bottom of the master page. Is there a setting in FM 11 that turns it off/on?

I seem to remember related posts suggesting that on this Windows 7 PC there will be locked-down, Admin only settings and also some I can actually change and save myself. Didn't have this problem earlier, because IT Support at my last shop decided the best way to keep the only FM user out of their hair was to give him Admin rights and deny all responsibility <g>

Is it possible to specify the default text contained in an element?I can't find anything, and autoinsertions only seems to allow adding element nodes, not <TEXT>.For example, I'd like to have an IntroductionTitle element which when inserted into the document, defaults to the phrase "Introduction", but can be changed just by typing a new title in.If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

Each table is preceded by a heading.I have added text and graphics in the column.I can edit everything in the column and the headings in the Side Head, but not the tables.Does anyone have any idea why this is the case?NB. FM 11DITA 1.2I'm just starting to work on my conversion table for our non-structured files. I've only gone as far as my first couple of iterative tests to create FM binary files; i.e., I haven't imported my EDD or templates yet. I'm just trying to apply logic to the process.Marsha
